We liked the room and the location. People who work in a hotel are very friendly. The whole area of the hotel looks nice overall. Unfortunately there are few things that we did not like at all. Pools definitely need some refreshments, tiles inside are very old and pool looks always dirty. Sun-beds mattress are disgustingly dirty and pool towels were very old as well. Breakfast food selection was extremely poor, fruits selection was just of 2-3 fruits which is unacceptable for this price hotel, those few plant based option had very average taste, things like jams, peanut butter, yoghurts etc were the cheapest quality ever and full of sugar. I’d wish to know this about breakfast before I booked this hotel.
Fantastic hotel in central Kuta/Legian. Great, clean rooms. Very quit, but easy access to town/shops/beach. Staff is very very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is really good with many choices. Price/quality excellent! For sure we come back!
Pretty old facility. It's dirty and smells strong.dirty and worn towels despite being changed several times, bathroom door not locking and toilet obviously leaking. Pools are dirty and have too few loungers for the number of rooms.was an absolute failure. Breakfast was good. A pity
Spent 2 weeks here recently in Oct. Located opposite the beach, but almost tucked away between 2 larger hotels. Not a large hotel more boutique but almost family run so nice relaxed atmosphere, not overally suited to young children (which suited us) more couples or family with grown up children.
We stayed at AlamKulKul for 3 nights in a Java Villa. No. 103
This villa is amazing with a private plunge pool and access from the bathroom directly to the pool/garden so you don’t have to walk through the main bedroom area when wet.
The location is great if you want to be in the middle of everything that Kuta/Legian has to offer. You can walk to everything and the beach is right across the road for sunset Bintang.
Despite the super convenient location, the resort is quiet and has a very relaxed and traditional vibe. The staff are beautiful and attentive. They have a cafe called Papa’s Beach Cafe right at the front of the resort where you can get very reasonably priced food with a view of the beach.
We had a couples spa at Jamu spa within the resort and, even though it was more expensive than what you pay at the roadside spa’s, it was worth it. Highly recommend.
Breakfast was more than adequate and plenty of choice.
Two for one cocktails by the pool each afternoon for happy hour.
I would stay again if I return to this part of Bali.
Have been to Bali many times, over 3 decades. Alamkulkul is one of the nicest, most authentic, places to stay. It does help that the staff are exceptional. Highly recommend
We stayed here for two days, first day in Lanai room and the second day in Alam room (standard room), we see that Alam room is cheaper but way better than the Lanai room, this resort has limited space but they use it very well, beautiful gardens, fish pond, 2 swimming pools (needs an improvement on water cleanliness), we also find squirrels in the garden, they made such unique sound which I thought at first it was a bird. The breakfast area is in the second floor (front building), good food and ambience, the omelette and pancake were freshly made, love the sweet local dessert with coconut milk and brown sugar. The staff in the egg station is very nice and give us fast service
This hotel is so outdated with too many issues, broken door lock, broken shower, and leaks on the ceiling. When entering the room, we were greeted with blaring music from the next door room, playing a large portable speaker. The hotel allowed them to do such thing happened. We moved the bed in the middle of the night because of the leaks on the ceiling.
Mid size hotel. Stayed 4 nites by the 2nd pool down back. Large comfy beds, larger bathrooms. Good breakfasts in front cafe. Across the road from beach.
When we arrived upgraded us to a stunning villa was huge and gorgeous. Staff were lovely. Location very central right across from beach and two mins walk to shopping centre and lots of restaurants and bars.
Arrived in Bali today, staff were very rude, booked a Delux Family Room and was taken to a shoe box with a rusted shower, overlooking a brickwall and fence. Could not stay there, we had to find alternative accommodation and then they made us pay for 1 nights accommodation. Would not recommend this place to anyone ever.
Really not too sure how this is a 4 star hotel? Room was so out dated. Needs a total refurbish and proper clean. The bathroom floor and light were very mouldy. Badly stained mirror. Bedsheets had a few prominent stains too. Super dim bedroom lights. I know for sure they didnt clean the room thoroughly as they left the previous guest feedback form which is already filled on the table. And there was also a coffee stain that could be easily wiped off on the side table. Wifi connection was not strong at all. I rather spend slightly more on any of the other hotels along that stretch.
Friendly, clean, organised, food is lovely.love the gardens very calming and relaxing. In a very good location. Near the beach and markets and shopping centre.
Amazing environment and great facilities (rooms, pool areas, Jamu Spa). The restaurant food could be better to match with the great place, still need improvement (eg. Fresh juices, less manufactured food, more natural options).
