Angel House Ubud

We were Angel's guests for a week and had a great time. Angel and her staff are very kind people, always ready to help you and make you feel at home.
Super recommend!

This is one of the best places I stayed in Bali. The hosts are amazing, very kind and the breakfast is delicious. It feels like being part of a family when you live there.
They will organize a driver for you, so its super easy to do the rice fields, hiking etc.
The place is not in the center of Ubud (2km). You can easily take the bus and it is very calm around the accommodation. You can take walks around the rice fields, they invite you to see ceremony's, if there is one. So if you want a real authentic balanese experience, you can get it there. The garden and the pool invite you to relax and the rooms are perfectly clean and nicely furnished and decorated with love.
I highly recommend staying there

If you want to save yourself the long review, here is the short version: The accommodation and the staff are fantastic. Absolutely no wishes are left unfulfilled. We'll definitely be back!

The somewhat detailed version:
We (young couple on the first big trip) were allowed to spend the first 4 nights in the Angel House (2km from the center of Ubud). That was an absolute stroke of luck. The air-conditioned rooms are cleaned daily and are lovingly furnished. Drinking water is available in the room and at the pool at any time free of charge.
The breakfast is just a dream. Forget all the posts on Instagram, this tops it all. You have a varied selection of several courses. The dishes are all freshly prepared in front of you.
The accommodation is located just outside of Ubud (approx. 2 km). However, that is not a problem. You can either borrow the bus card or rent a scooter directly from the accommodation (50% cheaper than in the area).
Day trips can be conveniently organized by the staff. A driver is provided and off you go. Lastly we would like to mention the staff. As mentioned it was our start to the trip and the staff made it so easy for us. We were greeted with the words: We hope you feel at home and they definitely did. Be it travel tips, food recommendations, cleaning our laundry, organizing transport or the warm, friendly and open conversations.

Its not good location and the room smelled bad. We checked in and checked out, asked out money back but they didn’t give us, so extra bad service. In the aria there are some food restaurants but very expensive, pizza 10 euros. The sea is not swim able cause the big waves and rocky bottom. Very quiet, no shops and anything around here.

Lovely private villa south of Ubud. We had one of the three available rooms each with great privacy, all located down the end of a small laneway from a “main road”. Local area of Mas village includes rice padis (sawah), temple, a morning market, wood working shops and restaurants. Villa’s garden and pool are very tranquil (great location for arranged massages!). Bed/mattress and linen were fantastic. Stay included 3 course breakfast which was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful - Aussie and Balinese friendliness.
We went on short public bus ride to Ubud (monkey forest, central market, palace), as well as morning trip to silver jewellery making workshop. If you want an eco-friendly stay, I’m happy to recommend you consider Angel House Ubud.

I have returned home to Australia after after having the most divine time in Bali, staying at Angel house Ubud. This eco Villa is a welcoming sanctuary, with deeply comfortable, beautifully clean and luxurious accommodation, with delicious and nourishing breakfasts.
The wonderful staff are ready and willing to support us with any request, including recommendations for day trips, informing us of local community events we are welcome to attend and support with transport. Staff were very accommodating of my gluten free dietary requests.

Angel, when requested, was happy to give us guidance on respectful dress and behaviours when interacting with the local community. I was surprised to see a one star review by a previous guest. We are visitors in a modest, muslim country. It feels important to respect their culture. Adequate clothing while riding motorbikes is also a safety consideration.

The herbs, inspiring gardens and the ylang ylang tree outside my room, with the fragrant flowers I tucked behind my ear each morning, are glorious. Loved that there was no plastic used in this eco Villa.

Ubud and surrounds is a wondrous place. Angel house in an oasis of rest, ease and comfort and the perfect base to explore the region.

I feel like I could not have chosen a better place to stay in Ubud. The location was a little out of town, so not so noisy or frenetic. The hotel itself is cosy - 3 self-contained private villa-style rooms - clean, beautifully decorated and relaxed. The staff were super-friendly, and the owners, Angel and Rod (originally from Melbourne) were gorgeously friendly and really great in answering questions about what to do, where to go, how to get there. Could not recommend this stay highly enough. Breakfast here is worth it:)

Warm and welcoming hosts who are happy to help at any time. AMAZING breakfast. Beautiful room with super comfortable pillows and lovely suroundings.

My parents stayed here 2 weeks ago, and came home telling me how wonderful their stay was. They raved about the extensive breakfast, wifi faster than Aus. And couldn't say enough about the staff, who catered to their every need and were always willing to help. Dad loved the local warnings near by and the fact they were happy to home deliver including Bintangs. My mum went to Tonyraka Art lounge for coffee every morning, who also has an amazing menu as well as art exhibitions. My parents have stayed at angel House 3 times now, and are going back next year. The location (away from hustle & Bustle) but close to UBUd and temples along with caring locals. Allow them to have a restful but fun holiday. The rooms according to mum, who says you could eat of the floor they are SO clean, along with air-conditioning and an amazing tropical balinese style garden which beats many resort gardens makes it a pleasure to stay here. Mum & Dad says thanks to ALL the staff for making their stay restful, informative (take the river rice fields walk before breakfast) they will be back 20/10

As a family we were looking for a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Bali - OMG - we found Angel House to be our special place where we could unwind and chill out. A hidden little gem with beautiful tropical gardens surrounding a beautiful pool. Thank you Annie & Rod, Pak Kadek, Pak Komang, Ibu Wayan, Ibu Made for welcoming us and sharing your wonderful culture with us. The accomodation was clean and spacious, beds were large and comfy. We were treated like family and were made to feel comfortable throughout our stay. We can’t wait to come back. SUKSEME

Pathetic place run by a nasty owner! She's not open to constructive feedback. Just look at her responses to guests who were not happy with her service! FYI, I'm a guest who stayed at the property several months ago.

Eco friendly with attentive staff. Amazing breakfast & free wifi. Rooms & pool spotless. Fabulous local eating places close by, amazing wood carving galleries & shops. Quick drive to Ubud and temples. Can not recommend Angel House highly enough. 10/10

Our stay at the angel house was superb. Everything you could ask for in comfort, hospitality, friendliness and a great location - close enough to Ubud to visit attractions but far enough away to ensure you are free of the hustle and bustle of traffic. The staff are a wealth of local knowledge and will make sure your stay in ubud is one you will never forget.

Attention to detail. Beautiful linen and pillows, clean and tidy room, friendly staff, beautiful garden and pool. Loved the 3 course breakfast with delightful treats. Passionfruit, jamu, bitcher muesli soaked in coconut cream, home made sourdough bread, and more! Would I stay again? Yes. Would I recommend? Yes!

2 weeks we where staying in this beautifull hotel in Mas Ubud (just out side of Ubud, 13 minute drive on the bike to the center of Ubud) but there is a lot to do in the area. We will recommend to rent a bike to go places.

It isn't a regular hotel. It is placed in the middle of a living area, but this doesn't matter. With a beautiful garden and a good pool it has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The breakfast is served at a long table where you can site down with the other guests.you start your day with some fruit and the get to choice between different dishes to start your day with.

It feels more to be at your families house then a regular hotel. The rooms are up to date and are cleaned every day. The total of 3 rooms makes it a really lovely and small hotel. The staff that works at the hotel is really helpful and know the spots to go for the real Balines experience. So one day the hotel owner (Annie) took us to the holy day Kuningan. An experience you only can have if you go with some one who knows the culture and the community and speaks the language.

We really enjoyed our time at this place and defiantly recommend it if you like to have a personal experience.

We loved our stay at Angel House! Everyone was really friendly and we learnt a lot about the local area and customs, as well as receiving lots of great food recommendations. The breakfast is as amazing as everyone says it is (3 courses of local dishes) and the room we had was lovely. The owner Annie was very friendly and chatty and made us feel at home!

We are here at the moment on our honeymoon trip and wow what a place its just before Ubud in mas Ubud you can find it down a tiny little alley and the place is just amazing, we are staying in the Jepun room and it is gorgeous beautiful comfy bed and everything you could possibly need is in the room.
The garden is to die for a gardeners paradise and a lovely pool to top it off so relaxing.
The breakfast is the best i have had since being here and Annie the owner makes her own bread and its yummy and everything is locally sourced as Annie likes to support the local community in a nut shell this place is worthy of more than 5stars as Annie and her team go above and beyound my expectations and i am one fussy English tourist and i cannot fault anything here so if your unsure about booking here don't be it's definately a thumbs up from me.

Our stay at Angel House Ubud was wonderful! It's a very cozy place, with just three rooms, a swimming pool, and a common area where breakfast is served. The staff was super friendly and Annie made sure we had everything we needed. They warmheartedly welcome everybody.

Within 10 minutes you are in the city center of Ubud, so it's just a short drive. Ubud can be very chaotic but Angel House is the peace itself. Therefore it's perfect if you are looking for a place to relax close to the chaos of the city. The room was very comfortable and there was a hot shower. The wifi worked perfectly everywhere. Breakfast was delicious and home-made! We loved the bread with omelet and the muesli.

Highly recommend staying at Angel House Ubud.

We had the most wonderful week staying at the Angel House Ubud. Thank you So Much to Annie, Rob and the beautiful staff! The memories we will take home with us will last our lifetimes. Annie will astonish you with her wealth of knowledge of Indonesian culture and language. Annie really made us feel welcomed with her thoughtful and generous home made breakfast menu, filled with home made sourdough, local tempeh, tofu, pandan banana pancakes, black rice pudding just to name a few. As a vegan I felt nourished and inspired and lovingly held.
The no plastic policy was so refreshing and the use of local produce and local employee's is a wonderful attribute! We rented the whole villa and the rooms were clean and large. The beds were orthopedic and the linen is very high quality we had comfortable and restful nights. There is a fan and air-conditioning in each room allowing great airflow.
The pool and garden are a blissful oasis. Annie organised our transportation to and from the airport using a local driver. There was a booklet in our room with a list of local day trip suggestions as well.
We look forward to our next trip to Ubud and cannot wait to return to Angel House Ubud. X Thank you So much! We will miss you! X

Amazing spot in the Goldilocks zone, out of the hustle of inner Ubud.but super close if you want to get there. Top notch facilities and pool, with super friendly staff. Breakfast is top notch, and the owners are extremely open and knowledgeable. Will be back

I was quite surprised to walk in and see exactly what I saw in the photos. This place was so gorgeous and most importantly CLEAN! Annie (the owner) was amazing, full of knowledge and so lovely. The staff are amazing aswell, especially the Manager Kadek. He was always smiling and and our children loved him. I happened to have fallen ill during our stay and everyone went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. We also left our bag including our phones on a taxi which MIRACULOUSLY got returned all thanks to Annie & Kadek. Our children loved it here and spent hours in the pool and playing in the gardens. Seriously such a hidden little gem, you will not be disappointed! We enjoyed everything about this place and will definitely be coming back.

The last 5 times we stayed here we have stayed in the ‘Sandat’ room and loved it, this time we stayed in the ‘Lumbung’ room above the bale and was even better for us with a real bali holiday feel. The breakfast is fantastic and all made fresh to order. They are eco friendly with recycling and composting services. The staff are awesome showing us around the local area just outside the busiest parts of ubud with great food within meters of the property. As a gay couple we are treated as any other couple which is refreshing.

Angel House is just fabulous. Set well back from the road, it’s quiet, clean and very comfortable. Super comfy bed with lovely bed linen. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful and Annie makes her own sourdough bread which is a real treat.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and there are plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance. Central Ubud is a short drive away. Transport into Ubud and beyond is easy to arrange and totally hassle free.

Angel House have embraced the no plastics policy and they practice a full recycling program

There is nothing to not rave about! The owner and staff are fantastic, very helpful, friendly and so sweet. The breakfast is an absolute delight, delicious, made fresh and with love every day and offers so many choices! The rooms are very clean and beautiful and the shared areas like pool, garden and breakfast room just gorgeous. Everything is at least as good as in the pictures!
Dressed up in the traditional garb they even took me to a ceremony at the mother tempel and I can‘t even describe what a wonderful experience that was. I had a truly fantastic time and experience at the Angel House and can only recommend staying there with all of my heart! I felt like I was part of a very kind and fun family and if I get to go to Bali again, there is just one place for me to stay.

Wonderful boutique hotel.we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Mas, Ubud. Our hosts made us feel at home with their friendly and welcoming interactions. Great local warungs (restaurants) with authentic Indonesian food. We enjoyed the fabulous community vibe of the location and it's close proximity to the local markets at Sukawati and also the upmarket shopping available in Ubud. Our room. Jepun.afforded us a comfortable king size bed with a lovely area to sit outside overlooking the amazing gardens & swimming pool. Our stay included a yummy breakfast selection each morning and the staff were impressive with their service. We are looking forward to our next stay in March 2019.

Feeling of home – Top notch!
I booked initially 2 nights and extended for 3 more. There are 3 accommodations around this small luxurious garden with refreshing swimming pool with clean and fresh water; good for a swim in the morning or after a day of sight-seeing.
Everything was perfect, the team is so welcoming, friendly and professional; breakfast (large choice) is delicious with organic ingredients and mainly homemade. The bedding is so comfortable. They pay attention to details in the rooms and it is very clean and neat. Garden is well maintained.
The House is located in Mas, 10-15’ drive to Ubud center, perfect location for those who want to stay away from busy touristic city center; yet close. The best is to rent a scooter (they can arrange it for you) to get around Ubud and do sightseeing; or the staff can provide drop off/pick-up to/from Ubud.
The Internet is very good and fast; if you need to do some work that’s also convenient.
So if you’re looking for a friendly cosy and quite environment, don’t look any further, that’s your place!
