Bali Swell Surf School

I absolutely recommend Bali Swell Surf School in Uluwatu for surf lessons. My friends and I were coached by Niskar and we had the time of our lives. Niskar was friendly, funny, gave clear instructions and made us feel very safe in the water. We had so much fun with him during the first lesson that we booked another lesson with him immediately. The other coaches were also very friendly and made the whole surfing group feel safe and have fun. I will definitely be returning to Uluwatu and taking further lessons with Niskar in the future. 5 stars!

I would highly recommend Bali Swell Surf School if you're looking for surf lessons in Uluwatu. Niskar taught me and my friends for two lessons and he was the best surf coach we could ask for - he was friendly, funny and patient, and I always felt safe out in the water with him. Niskar also really helped me improve my surf skills very quickly. The other coaches were all lovely and supportive also. I enjoyed every minute of my lesson and hope to return to Uluwatu for further lessons with Niskar and Bali Swell Surf School soon. Thank you so much Niskar!

Fantastic experience for my first ever surf lesson with Bali Swell Surf School!

The 2 hours was very well organized with a clear structure on how I was going to progress during the lesson.

My instructor, Niskar Joy, was diligent, patient, encouraging and cracking jokes throughout the whole day - he made my surf lesson an experience to cherish.

I’ve now booked a second lesson with him - make sure you ask for him!

We recently had the pleasure of taking a private surfing lesson with an amazing instructor Niskar. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and comfortable. The instructor was incredibly patient and attentive, taking the time to understand our skill level and goals for the lesson.

The lesson began with a thorough safety briefing, which helped to alleviate any fears any of us had about getting in the water. Then, we started with some basic surfing techniques on the sand before heading out into the waves. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable about the ocean and surfing, providing clear and easy-to-follow instructions.

We were able to stand on the board from the very first try so that is a big win for us!

Such a great surfing school!

I went to try for the first time and then returned for another 3 lessons.
First two lessons I had with Ivan and it was so much fun. He explained all the gear, surfing techniques, how does the spot work and then we went surfing. It was relaxed and fun. I started to catch waves after few attempts.
Next lessons I had opportunity to surf with Niskar.
This was great as you can feel that he tries to push you do things right so you get the most out of your lesson. At the end of each lesson you get feedback on your riding, and next lesson you try to improve what was wrong last time. It just feels that true professionals are taking care of you.

Overall I have to say that I fell in love with surfing here, thanks to these guys.

Had a great experience first time surfing with Niksar. Such a helpful guide, got me in the right mindset and enough technique to get up surfing many times, good for first timers like me.

I was there for a private surf lesson for two hours. My teacher for the day was Niskar. He was great, explain me everything about the spot, how to paddle and how to stand up on the board. So I managed it with his help to surf on some waves. That was an amazing feeling. And when something goes wrong and I'm falling down, Niskar was ecplaining me, what was my fault, so I can did it better on the next try.
I had a great time and can only recommand Niskar as a teacher at Bali Swell Surf School.

I recommend it but people when u go, don’t focus on falling because it’s normal, focus on the form and enjoy it

I did 2 amazing lessons with Hank and I am happy about how I improved my surf skills. Even I am a beginner and I am still more in the water (falling) than on the board, I still had a lot of fun. Choose Bali Swell Surf School and you will be happy with your choice.

Im Nick from Singapore and I attended Hank’s beginner surf lesson at Padang Padang. We ended up being taught by Niskar, fellow instructor of Hank’s school. Really appreciated Niskar’s guidance and friendliness at making beginners confident of their first surf. He makes himself approachable, and you will not be afraid to ask him anything no matter how embarrassing you think it may be. Highly recommended and will visit him again in future

Niskar is the best instructor i ever had. He is quite friendly and kind. I'm a beginner at surfing, but I was able to enjoy surfing by taking a one-point lesson from him. Also Padang-padang beach is beautiful and fit for beginner surfers. It's worth taking his lessons. Have fun in Bali.

I spent a couple of great days receiving lessons from Hank and Ifwan. They were great teachers and helped me stand up in no time at all, but also really friendly and fun and helped create a great atmosphere on the waves

Best place to learn how to surf. You'll get the real experience in paddling to the lineup, facing the incoming breaks and getting the best spot to take off, not one of those who stay close to shore.
