BATIK Restaurant Bar

We ordered a combination of thai and balinese meal. None of the taste were authentic although they were not horrible. It has potential.

Service were mediocre. Straws were thrown instead of placed, main course came first then salad followed, screamed to the colleague downstairs to check things

Super hot on second floor you should put fans!

Too many big groups and it took away the holiday feeling as rhey can be noisy

It is called batik but nothing representative batik

We decided to stop here on a whim given the offered Beef Rendang, which we heard was a must-have to try in Indonesia, and it certainly lived up to its reputation! BATIK is a great location to drop into with very good prices, a great selection, and excellent food. While we only tried the Beef Rendang, I have no doubts the rest of their options are just as good!

Gorgeous! We took:
- Spring roll
- Thai hummus
- Fried squid
- Seafood spaghetti
- Pad Thai with seafood
- Coconut panacotta
- A soft chocolate cake

EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT! Amazing

The food was so yum! Very authentic and delicious, must try dish is definitely the cashew nut dish, was amazing! Only thing I don’t recommend is the Thai beef salad, did not taste like the traditional way. Service and atmosphere is great too, it was a classy restaurant

I’ve been to Batik pre-pandemic days. Today was my second visit in about three weeks or so. I’m not sure if the staff were tired after the weekend or something. When I wanted to order, I had to look through the dividers to get someone’s attention. The waitress who took my order was in a rush. She thought I only was going to order a starter and was going to walk away. I had to say: “Can you please write? ” When I noticed that she didn’t note down the starter order on the notepad she was holding. Then I ordered my main dish. No one came to clear my starter plates until a staff member came to bring a spoon for my curry and I asked him to clear the table. When I wanted to request the bill, there was no one around from the wait staff, so I asked one of the bartenders. When I asked for his attention, he looked at me in an expression that says: “What do you want? ” But in a rude way. As if I was disturbing him and I wasn’t allowed to ask him for anything. Note: I sat inside and there was only another table (group of three who ordered drinks only) and a couple who came at a later time.
It’s a shame because the food is great but I’m not sure it’s worth feeling disrespected after paying 400k and dining solo. Maybe they assume everyone is a tourist and won’t be returning. Well, I’m in Bali for six months this time but I don’t think I’ll be back. I just thought my review would be useful for the owner.

I will change my review from to 1, since we came at 10 pm and she didn't let us sit in the restaurant even though the restaurant works until 11 pm.

Makanannya sangat tidak enak, rasanya totally failed. Kami ramai2 office dinner di sana, rasa makanannya ada yg terlalu manis, terlalu asin dan terlalu asam. Tidak ada yg rasanya pas, masak sup tom yam manis seperti kolak? ! Apa dicicip oleh chef nya sebelum dihidangkan ke tamu? Tidak sesuai dgn harga makanannya. Kalau bisa setengah bintang, saya akan kasih setengah bintang. Tolong diperbaiki kualitas masakannya!

Would give an 7.5 /10 overall for the whole package. (3.5 stars in this rating)
Food quality good enough. Prices over average for asian food. Preparation time (quiet long) tbhonest wait quiet a while to be served.
Not any offer or packages for groups or big orders is a downside.
Overall a nice ambiance and good service.

We came today for late lunch, we had chicken cashew (taste fine) and pad thai (taste too salty!). It is one of our fave place to eat in Seminyak, we love the interior and the vibes there. But the staff girl came to us gave the bill while we still enjoying our time there and kinda busy with our laptop (at 4 pm), and they said they're gonna close bill or close edc card machine or whatever although the place should be close at 9pm. That doesn't make sense and disrespectful! Never come back no more. Thanks

We dine there for Valentine's Day. Very beautiful building, the inside is airy and comfy.
The hummus for starter is yummy and the salmon and couscous delicious. Cocktails and mocktails are very fresh and good too. Prices are all right.
Maybe, the paper menu they give look a bit cheap, it may be a good idea to do new one

At most occasions, pretty places may serve 'edible' food (as in, it wasn't that memorable nor good in a way) as it may probably attract the customer through its instagrammable place.

However, this place is an exception. I had the best nasi goreng that would always be the benchmark throughout the entire journey in BALI. The spices are on point, not too strong nor too shy. The sate ayam was so tender with well-seasoned peanut sauce, and the pandan chicken was exquisite with its fish sauce. Our tummies were happy! I would like to try the pho next time.

Visited in the evening - atmosphere and place was quiet and cozy.
Ordered red curry chicken and sage ayam - food was delicious for good price.

Always come to this restaurant to fill up our tummy to get the energy before go to the club and dance on the dancefloor, very friendly staff and owner and delicious food

Delicious food and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and friendly service. If you come here, you can see the Indonesian Batik art installations, craft, and history about Batik itself. So, it’s not only about your meals, but you can also enjoy and learn about the Batik heritage.

One of our absolute favorite stops in Bali. The food was amazing, the drinks delicious, and the atmosphere was so nice we didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend making this part of your Bali itinerary!

Makanan nya enak, saya rekomendasikan Thai vegan curry buat yang mau makanan vegan, enak banget lah pokoknya, rekomendasi makanan Asia juga.

From all the dishes we ordered and you can see in the photos, the only okay.ish one was the season salad which was blunt and tasteless.

Everything else was great
The ambience of this place is colonial style, sophisticated and feels premium.
The restrooms were impeccably clean and functional.

The service is outstanding, they think before you ask, I love it!
The prices are quite fair for the quality/experience and lunch set us back 250,000 rupiah per person only.

We will certainly go back and we recommend it to everyone

It was amazing dining here after walking through the craziness of Seminyak busy roads and traffic, entering Batik is just like we were transported into a different world of delicious South East Asian food and refreshing cocktails in really chic and colonial settings. We had Indonesian dishes yellow rice + chicken wrapped with banana leaves and nasi campur, they're all perfect. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasty. After a yummy meal, Danu the restaurant manager checked in with us if we would love to have dessert and while waiting on our chocolate lava, he show us around the restaurant to learn about 'batik' which is actually the name of Indonesian traditional fabric. What a nice surprise to cap a terrific meal. Definitely recommend it for a great Asian dining experience in Seminyak with really affordable price.

Just watched Security at BATIK punch and throw a mentally disabled man into the middle of the street. Then a mob of Bali men chase him and continue to attack him. They have no understanding that he is mentally disabled and panicking. They continue to laugh about it now.
I stand by my review, and know for a fact that this man is mentally disabled. And further more know for a fact that security staff from BATIK were involved with physically punching and kicking this disabled man. The security staff was back in front of the restaurant laughing and re-enacting how they were kicking and punching him.

Delicious food and incredibly friendly sociable staff with great English! Some of the best service we've had in Asia. Had an amazing dinner and we walk back the day after for lunch, and next few days on our last dinner before leaving Bali. Top!

Good Thai food, a couple of curries that can be made vegan, nice decor, and good service. My girlfriend had some fish which she really enjoyed and keeps dragging me back here for:). The vegan curries are ok, but not the best curry I’ve ever had.

Best lunch ever. I know very well South East Asian cuisine and they have a great selections of all time favourite Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thailand food in their menu. The interior decoration is also outstanding, really beautiful, chic, and modern but have a really affordable price (compare with others in the same road). Worth every value of your money, a must visit when in Bali. Thanks BATIK, I and my family def will be back!

Food is amazing and so divine, fresh and full of flavour that you just absolutely are taken on a journey to Thailand and Vietnam by the talented team in the kitchen. Presentation is okay but serving sizes are so damn generous. We left with a fully tummy and shock by how cheap the bill that we had to pay. They have a beautiful interiors that pointed out. Highly recommended.

Modern and beautiful restaurant in colonial setting serving Indonesian, Thailand and Vietnamese authentic cuisine in a modern twist. We had delicious food, lovely dinner with high class service but doesn't burn a hole in the pocket, really affordable price! High recommend this restaurant to everyone

Food is good and there is a nice selection of western and Asian options. The green curry was the best I have ever had. Very cute ambiance.

Beautiful food particularly the chicken with cashew nut. The vegetable spring rolls are excellent. Meal for 3 adults starters and main course with a bottle of wine £50.
By far the most impressive restaurant for value for money we ate here on four occasions

Absolutely great restaurant. The best in Seminyak. Great ambience and decor. It's definitely an oasis from the noise outside. We ended up coming back continually during our stay in the area following not so good service and food in other restaurants. Great space for group dining or just drinks as there are two bars. We tried various dishes on the menu (my favourites wontons, spring rolls, yellow curry and laksa) and loads of cocktails and other drinks. It's obviously popular with locals and tourists alike with various celebrations taking place each time we attended. Customer service was wonderful with them surprising us with a volcano desert on our last visit before we left Bali. Thank you so much to the team in Batik you're all gems.

Saw this restaurant as we walked past so decided to take a chance on it. Great outdoor patio to eat at. Lunch menu is highly recommend, their chicken cashew nuts was to die for. Wife tried their healthy juice menu (watermelon). Amazing food in a beautiful location.

"A MUST" every time we visit Bali. Good food, amazing staff, super nice environment. What I like the most is the history behind BATIK. Every corner of the restaurant reflect the heritage of batik. Don't hesitate to ask the manager to tell you the story. Really impressive! Totally recommended.
