Bumi Ubud Resort

Booked 3 nights but in the 3rd night, a gecko was found in the room at about 10pm. We tried reaching out to staff, walked all the way to front desk but there was no one. Walked to the back kitchen, no one was around either.
As we cannot stay in a room with a gecko, we booked another hotel and left our room key at the front desk. So we didn't complete our stay here.
What disappointed us was there was no staff around, even though there was supposed to be 24 hr front desk.
During our stay there, we did not see any other guests either. It was scary for me.
The place is old, but the room was neat and clean. Bathtub looks old and dirty, dare not use it. Of course there was lizard sound and ants around. But we could stay with these. We just can't with a gecko.
Breakfast was simple but big portion and faces rice fields, which is nice.

To their credit, the staff, when they were around, were friendly. First night here, they arranged for a driver to bring us to restaurant for dinner where we spent over IDR700,000 for 2 persons. Food was nice though.

If you like surrounded by nature, this will be nice. I just cannot sleep with the gecko in the room, and with no staff around to help, this really killed the joy. I won't stay here again.

The place is nice, but needs a lot of maintenance. It's a bit far from Ubud market. The location and atmosphere are good. The air conditioning didn't work well and it was too humid. Overall, the stay was fine, but they should move the AC for better comfort.

When you mention the beautiful tropical gardens, you forget about the mosquitoes, leprechauns, and lizards that accompany them
When you remember being away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you forget the difficulty of moving around, eating, and even finding a small grocery store to buy water, biscuits, and chips for the children.
We spent a week here full of that, plus my children’s dangerous adventures, whether towards the open swimming pool and the unprotected cliffs surrounding it, or towards the dangerous, distant street.
Anyway, I would probably recommend this resort without children, without mosquitoes, and without the huge rat that came out to us, perhaps from a sewer hole, and froze the blood in my poor wife's veins until the morning

What can I say that other reviews have not. This place is just perfect for a chilled out getaway.
Amazing gardens full of life, frogs, birds, bugs and more. Don't worry the bugs don't attack you.
Pool area is lovely overlooking the rice fields.
You can get a massage poolside if you like.
Staff are willing to help you and always happy and smiling making you feel good.
The rooms are small bungalows, so are huge, nice big bathroom with clear roof.
Outside the hotel and on the streets there are some interesting shops and local restaurants (cheap as)
Even found a fishing shop.
Come and enjoy getting away from the tourist traps and relax

I dont know anything about the hotel, but I live around the corner, and they have a swimmingpool ticket here. Its cheap, the pool is very nice, the view awesome, and drinks and food is also cheap. I love to come to here for chilling at the pool. They also have a huge beautiful garden with nice shadow.

The Pool is great.
The rooms are dated and neglected.
Restaurant was a disgrace and overpriced.

Beautiful place. The hotel is well-located with a beautiful garden, swimming pool facing to the rice-field. The sunrise is amazing to be seen here.

The place was so tranquil and other worldly. The rooms are good and neat with private garden. We did not try the food except for breakfast which was ok. After dusk there r no lights outside rooms and looks like we are in middle of jungle.

Suasana dari resort ini sangat nyaman, bangunannya terasa seperti bangunan bali jaman dahulu, itu bisa kita lihat dari tembok setiap villa nya. Setiap villa memiliki gazebo untuk bersantai. Yang harus menjadi perhatian dari manajemen adalah kebersihan dari fisik bangunan dan fasilitas kamarnya, contohnya sun roof nya terlihat kotor, warna cat di temboknya tidak rata, ac nya nampak lama, toiletnya bocor banyak semut di dalam kamar. Di room directory tertulis setiap tamu mendapat cold towel pada saat check in dan tersedia internasional channel di kamar tapi semua itu tidak tersedia. Dan dikatakan setiap pukul 3.30pm-4.30pm tersedia afternoon tea tetapi kami tidak diberikan informasi tersebut pada saat check in sampai kami membacanya sendiri ketika pukul 5.00pm. Untuk fasilitas kolam renangnya perlu ditingkatkan kebersihannya. Breakfast bisa diantar ke kamar atau bisa di restaurant. Untuk rasa dari menu breakfast tidak ada yang spesial, porsinya pun kecil. Tapi kamu puas menginap disini karena suasana nya sesuai ekspektasi.

A perfect place to stay in Ubud.you will be mesmerised by the lush greens? And infinity pool with view of the rice Fields was the highlight.

We booked a villa which was super comfy.quiet big and well maintained with beautiful wooden work and also some space outside room to enjoy the weather.

Amazing hospitality.
Morning walks inside were perfect.

Excellent setting for a traditional Balinese meal. The garden is spacious and very well maintained, the restaurant is beautiful as a whole. Service was quite good as well.

The food was relatively taste however quite pricey all in all.

Peaceful, quaint, laid-back. Everything that you may want from a leisurely trip to the farming suburbs of Ubud.

If you are in Bali, and plan to stay in Ubud area, you can't miss experiencing the enticing beauty of this gem of a property. Bumi is one of the oldest and finest resorts in all of Bali, considering its geographical placement (right next to flourishing rice fields), humongous and amenities rich Villas and the beautifully maintained flora (wrapping some hidden and interesting fauna - don't worry, its completely safe here). There is a shuttle service to and fro Ubud market and nearby places, free of cost, from the resort, at regular intervals daily. And to describe the villas you get to stay in, nothing less than a royal suite, with huge living space, attached kitchenette, a hot tub sporting king sized washroom and dedicated garden area with a gazebo to relax or for those much sought after Balinese full body massage sessions. Each villa is equipped with all the modern day amenities one could think of, like electric kettle, hair dryer, hot and cold running water at all times, LED TV with cable connection, hidden fridge stuffed to capacity with drinks, Books to read, king size bed with drapes and mosquito net (in case if you need that), intercom etc. And all this, for really economical pricing per night, including breakfast. The best served ROI im Bali I would say. Highly Recommend!

The chalet allocated to us was in a deplorable state with 1000s of ants crawling all over the place. And yes, I'Ve seen a rat run through the room. After a long flight from Dubai, I was expecting to have a good rest to start our tour in the morning. Unfortunately, I could not get myself to sleep, let alone to shower. The photos are very deceiving. When you see the actual chalet, it tells you a different story. I would really like to know if the other chalets are the same as the one allocated to us or is it what the photos say.

The hotel is dated but they do their best to keep up their former reputation. It is obvious that their price has dropped through the years. Most likely they were a hotel with very high standards in the past and known among tourists and higher class local people.

The location of the pool is amazing with its view on the rice terraces. The quality of the food is very good, very good breakfast. Big portion even for foreign people. The employees really do their best to give the best possible service and do anything you need. Respond time is quick as well.

I highly recommend this place to people who will visit Ubud and do not wish to get confronted with the busy environment close to the town. They offer free shuttle service to and from Ubud at set times.

The rooms are very big, there is a small kitchen, a bathtub in every room, hot water, LCD TV, table to work, waterkettle etc.

I am not only very satisfied about this hotel, but I will also recommend and sell this hotel to my own customers that book through my travel agency!
