Cendana Resort & Spa

Luxury accommodation in the center of Ubud, a short distance from Ubud Palace. There is a local disco just next door and you can hear it a lot in some of the rooms upstairs right at the entrance to the resort. They win until midnight. Otherwise a wonderful place in the garden with 2 pools and beautiful rooms. You can walk to the Monkey Forest.

Lokasi ditengah keramaian kota Ubud, masih mendapatkan view sawah dan pool. Hanya saja penginapan disebelah mengadakan live music sampai dinihari sehingga sangat mengganggu karena sangat-sangat berisik, padahal kami pesan hotel di Ubud dengan harapan mendapatkan suasana yg tenang.

Kamar bernuansakan jadul, terlalu besar dan tidak ada tv.
Kamar mandi sangat besar dengan desain yg jadul, but it's ok for me.
What's matter is the wastafel is outside the bathroom which makes us hard to handwash.

Pelayan sangat ramah, disediakan welcome drink juga.
Untuk breakfast, ala carte bukan buffet. Rasa masakannya saya nilai 8/10.
Kopinya sangat enak, suasana breakfast view pool dengan sawah yg hijau.

So far, saya merekomendasikan tempat ini. Namun jika ada dana lebih, kalian bisa sewa penginapan yg lebih bagus lagi.

Some people seem to like that. For us it was the worst thing we had on our Bali trip. Toilet and bathroom dingy and old room furnishings. The pool water was very cloudy. All in all, we moved on again after 2 hours. I can't spend the night there. I really expected something different from the Deluxe Room. But location is great.

I have been staying here 4 times, just prior to the pandemic and during the pandemic. The rooms located in the back, opposite the infinity pool were reasonably big, nicely appointed, with TV and small fridge. The terrace is huge and you can sit there and enjoy the paddy fields. All rooms were part of a traditional bungalow with traditional Balinese architecture. The hotel has 2 pools.

What I really like was, it was located on Ubud 's busy main street near restaurants and cafes, close enough to the palace and still walkable to the Campuhan forested area. But because it is set back from the hustle and bustle of the street, you still enjoy the serenity of the huge garden. There are fish ponds everywhere some with small bridges over them,

Balinese traditional praying stations, overall a beautifully artistically groomed garden. A few times a day, the girls placed offering baskets on the traditional praying places. I was lucky I could speak to the guys who cut the paddy while swimming in the infinity pool at the same time. The owner lived on the premises and I enjoyed very much the conversation I had with the family.

Cendana lost a lot of business due to the pandemic and more so to the ruthless manners of the very loud CP Lounge, who did not respect the quiet hours so typical for Ubud. I hope a serious newspaper like CNBC will cover this situation. It is nearly impossible to renovate those rooms next to the lounge though they are nice.

Picturesque rooms, swimming pool and very beautiful setting. The only downside is that if the rooms on the first part are located in close proximity to an atmospheric bar whose music can be heard until midnight

Nice hotel in the middle of the center. Almost everything can be visited within walking distance. Friendly staff.

Fish and staff are the highlights! Room a bit dingy, but grounds are amazing.
Tried to stay longer but wouldn't negotiate on the price. Moved hotels and loved the change.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay special for my birthday celebrations. Our room was lovely, clean and large. The bathroom was also very big for a separate shower and bathtub. The pool area was well kept and out facing the rice terraces. Gorgeous hotel with a very reasonable price

This is a place you stay for the location and the cheap cost per night. Decent amount of ants on the furniture so I wouldn’t recommend putting your stuff down on anything except the bed area and bathroom. There are some black flakes that I think are from the AC unit [update: looks like it’s actually wood from movement on the second floor ] that keep floating on to the bed and a lot of white blue fluorescent lightbulbs (warmer light would go such a long way especially in the big bathroom). The common area decor is definitely not maintained and you can see the piping and mold everywhere. The field in view of the infinity pool is yellow / dead and there’s live music every day until late. If you’re trying to find a hotel to relax in this isn’t the place. But if you’re trying to find an affordable place to stay close to ubud center this should do well enough, just keep your expectations very low!

The staff here are seriously so sweet, such lovely people. This was a real welcomed suprise because I booked it through Airbnb. Was delighted with the view and felt real tucked away even though it was on the main drag.

Peaceful vibe, the view by the rice field, authentic, balinese style spacious rooms. (heard the live music till 11am only for a few rooms).
The pool still cleaning thou but can use.
Feels just like balinese village home.
Clean bathroom with balinese soap/shower/shampoo. (drainage a bit slow at ground floors)
Would recommend.
Price reasonable, nearby monkey forest and ubud market (bargain the amount u think u would pay thou).
Would come back again.

The room is nice. Only the hot water is limited. There are 2 pools which both are very nice. It is located beside rice fields and in the center of ubud (monkey forest). Will definitely stay here if I visit Ubud next time.

The location is excellent walking distance to tje town centre, the staff are very helpful and efficient, a special mention goes to Aiyu she will really guide you well. The rooms are spacious and adequate, perhaps they need a bit more lighting. The pools are always clean and the atmosphere is sirene.surely one to to revisit

The hotel it was super nice, is close to everything in the middle of ubud but very quite with a lot of green. You feel like in a small paradise! The rooms are a little bit old, in balinese style, anyway clean!
The receptionist are very nice!
So definitely a very good place to stay!

One amazing property at Ubud. Located at prime area of Ubud, it offered us a luxury stay with very affordable price. Really liked the cozy rooms, rice fields next to property, their swimming pool what not. Staff was very courteous and warm.

I was apprehensive given mixed reviews but I was delighted with my stay. It’s not a five star resort but five stars for sure for the price point.
First the location is incredible, right in the centre of Ubud so you can walk in different directions to almost everything you want to. Yet you can hear no traffic, and you overlook rice paddy fields! This is because it is set very far back from the road. The resort is finished with lots of nice Balinese architectural details and feels very light, airy, and spacious with immaculate gardens and two pools. One typical hotel bright blue pool, the other a large infinity pool overlooking the ricefields, which was more like swimming in the beautiful freshwater pond! Just lovely! Lots of birds coming in to take a drink and the area abounds in nature.

There are three tiers of room at this resort. The older standard ones, then there are some superior ones directly opposite the old pool, And then there are the new deluxe ones which are much bigger, and have stone bathrooms. The price difference isn’t huge, so I would recommend going for the deluxe rooms. The upstairs ones do you have views over the ricefields, but the downstairs one I had still had plenty of privacy and you could look through the garden at the pool and the distance.

The room itself is basic and simply finished, spacious, with good air conditioning.
The food in the restaurant is good value and tasty, the free breakfast Had a little bit of variety from day today, with something for everyone.
The staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable, like with Bali in general.
Yes being in the middle of Bali there are bars in the area at night, and there is a night club next door that has quite loud live music some nights. The cheaper rooms are more likely to be affected by noise, however I did not need earplugs at night. Reception though did tell me that they have earplugs available if people request them.

This hotel I would say is perfect for single travellers Who want to be able to easily get to everything so you don’t feel too on your own, and for families Or anybody who is new to avoid, and wants a nice central location to explore from, whilst at the same time being able to chill enjoy much of the calm and tranquility that central Bali is so famous for. All for a relatively good value price!

Lovely Balinese style hotel in the centre of Ubud. Very quiet and relaxing, nice pools. Fantastic value for money. Highly recommend Deluxe rooms near back of hotel.

Where should I start with this hotel!
Receptionist were lovely and greeted us with welcome drinks.
Then our room was beautifully decorated as you can see from photographs below.
The scenery around the entire hotel is full of plants, flowers, ponds and mini water falls.
It’s honestly a beautiful hotel, I would definitely come back.
We stayed in room 303!
We didn’t have an issue with noise etc, but there was lounge nearby that was playing music into the early hours. Again from our room we didn’t hear anything but rooms closer to the entrance, this could get pretty annoying really quickly.

Ubud has an unique charm to it, the people are super friendly and happy to help!

Cendana was no different!
