Chez Gado Gado Restaurant

Great spot on the beach (reservations a must around sunset) and lots of waiting staff (many of them young and inexperienced). Our food was not bad except for the mahi mahi in our rice bowl: it had a very strong fish smell and tasted extremely fishy - obviously anything but fresh. A situation like this, where a restaurant serves stale fish to its patrons, calls for very close oversight in the kitchen.

Absolutely disgusting! Went there tonight for a nice dinner, I order a steak sandwich and the steak was off to the point I had to run the the bathroom and throw it up! Tasted sour as hell I told the waitress and she looked at me like I was an idiot I asked to speak to then boss and got told no, I can get food poisoning from it! One of my boyfriend’s parents family friend had plastic In there migoran they told him he didn’t have to pay for got the bill and He had to pay for it!

They will drop random drinks at your table and tell you that you ordered it and make
You pay absolutely disgusting will never recommend this place to anyone should be shut down! Everyone is absolutely rude and entitled it’s disgusting should be disappointed in your selfs… also water is meant to be free in restaurants and bars not $5! I can go to a store and get it for 60c

Recommend to book this popular restaurant, but we were lucky with a walk in on the beachside terrace. The food was amazing and the service brilliant. I recommend the Black Forest tiramisu!

Lovely place, great views especially at sunset. Highly rated and very popular.
We found the staff quite disorganized, food quite plain tasting and drinks took awhile to arrive, but overall a nice evening with friends.

Such good value. A big menu to cater for everyone. Delicious food and 2 for 1 cocktails. Band was great and the staff are amazing - friendly and helpful. Special shout-out to Agus who served us each time we went. Recommend to the highest level for everything that is great about Bali.

Great spot to watch the sunset. Food was ok. Nothing to write home about.
Downside was people smoking all around us and my kids were coping it. The only location in Bali on the beach that we experienced this.

Food was average but what sucked was we got the buy 2 get the third cocktail free deal and there was no alcohol. So we were paying about 10$ for a non alcoholic drink. (So buy a beer or wine if you want a drink) View was amazing, that is why my review is not one star

Lovely ambience. Dine alfresco. Next to the beach. Prices is reasonable. And the staff are lovely. Ordered the grilled octupus and sardines. They are lovely and juicy. Worth a try!

Great Vibe and great food. The place us tight next to the beach and in the evening it is nicely illuminated. We sat on a table on the terrace deck right at the front where is little to no music so you can enjoy dinner with the sound of waves.
The drinks were very delicious (I had the gin smash) and the tapas offer a nice variety to a good price. When it comes to desert definitely share the creme brulee. Phenomenal!

Outdoor setting across the road from the beach. Relaxed atmosphere. Have celebrated a couple of birthdays there watching the sunset.

We had an absolutely lovely dinner with a great view of the beach and sunset. We ordered the grilled octopus, and grilled sardines for starters. We loved the dishes, highly recommendable!
We ordered the pork ribs and chicken betutu, the portions were just right. Grilled to perfection and very flavorful.

Disappointing. Food was ok-ish, however ambiance was great. Price/quality poor. No, quality was good, but just overpriced. Heavily overrated. Staff is very kind, but unprofessional. We asked for napkins (why did we have to?), and only got two for four persons. The other two in our party only got paper tissues. Refilling the wine from our bottle only by request. And it wasn’t busy! No check-up after food was served. As said: disappointing.

Spacious restaurant with outdoor tables, nice weather in June here, didn't feel hot and humid when sitting outdoor. Price is bit expensive as compared to the nearby, services is good and have a live band they are playing music to each table with a soft and lovely melody, The food is okay and provide some transitional Indonesia dishes.

At first we visited a couple times during the morning and enjoyed the view and atmosphere. The morning staff were friendly too. It could be one of our regular spots. We decided to visit at night for a drink and light appetizers. The evening was going well, had an ambient atmosphere. Told my partner we should visit tomorrow night for dinner. Until we requested our bill. We were told wrong offer buy one get one free drink and they charged us for it. The lady manager came to us and told us the staff are training. We can give you one free tapas as this is the offer ment to be.which was less than our drink. We were prepared to pay anyways but it was more her attitude towards us. I thought it was because she's under pressure as was getting busy.it was more about the wrong offer and her attitude towards us. My partner said we don't come here again.she told us it doesnt matter.basically who cares. Now I can see why there was a lady making a scene earlier on and we thought perhaps she's over reacting. But if that is how a manager treats customers of course the staff in training will follow suit. We definitely don't come back as there are much better places around with friendlier service.azul next to mandira beach resort service is very friendly and the atmosphere is unbelievable. They value their customers unlike rude lady manager on tonight. Manager should be training staff then. Perhaps then customers wouldn't have to make a complaint. I'm annoyed how we were treated than the error with promo drinks.

Excellent food and Ambiance and best price / quality imaginable. Location is second to non and the menu is simply magnificent. A must visit place for anyone who visits Bali

Just now went to Chez Gado Gado for the first time after driving past for a few years. This place exudes luxury, including 18% service and charges. I ordered a Bintang off the menu and was delivered a large one, in a Wayan beach bar stubby holder and no glass. Looking at the menu there was no large Bintang listed. We enquires and were told they were 100000 rup or $12 aus inc charges. I had a suspicion something was fishy and said something to my wife. In the end they turned up with 2 reciepts, one for our meal and my wife’s drink and a seperate bill for Wayans beach bar where they got the large Bintang from. When we tried to speak to the manager we were told he went home and no one took charge/responsibility. We obviously uncovered a scam, where staff are skimming money from owner by selling beer from a nearby beach bar to us at a marked up price. So beware of this establishment, although it looks legitimate staff are scamming customers. AVOID UNLESS YOU TOO WANT TO SCAMMED. And No we never caused a scene, and were never asked to leave.

All right. A bit more expensive than the other eateries on the beach but lovely location and you don't need to walk on the sand to reach it. Food good.

Came in for dinner on sunset. Had ants all over our food, we showed the server and he took the plates and said nothing. We ended up having to pay.
Maybe its better up the top but we were beachside. Wouldnt go again.

Located right near the beach a place to Have a very relaxing and enjoyable breakfast or dinner with friends as we did. Excellent food and service. A good variety of choice breakfast selection to cater for everyone. Fresh juices to select. Overlooking the beach we enjoyed watching the horses being ridden. Consistent and enjoyable establishment.
