Deus Ex Machina - Temple of Enthusiasm

First time we visited this bar in Feb. 2020. Then I'd have marked it with 5 stars. Second time we visited it in Nov. 2023 and we've found a huge difference to worse side. Then we drank at least three 4-stroke margarite with great pleasue. Now they were of worse quality and diluted with water. That was especially strange 'cause of promo action "2 coctails by price of one". Besides, we're been tried to dispose in bar area where heat waves of working AC blew right towards us.

Just after our dinner, we were a bit annoyed as the music was sooo loud, but then Maureen came and safe the day! If she is not the manager yet, she should be! Five star for Maureen, one and only! You rock girl!

On Tuesday they do a combo of tacos+ margarita+ tattoo but be prepared for confusion if you want to get a tattoo. There are no advance reservations and only 16 spaces and if they thought it was enough to arrive and wait for their turn, that won't be the case either. There will be confusion and when I asked the employees if it would be necessary to fight, they said "yes"! Unbelievable! We arrived 1 hour before the announced date to put our names in, but a group arrived that surpassed everyone who had been waiting for a long time and no security guard or employee helped in this situation and so we were last (we only did it because we had already waited a long time) and other people, they couldn't get their tattoo. I think there is no organization in this establishment nor care or understanding for the customer. Quite disappointed! I will not return here nor recommend it!

Absolutely loved the serviced here. Maureen and Jacky were especially helpful, made sure we had everything we needed. I cannot thank them both enough for the amazing experience we had here.

Hari Minggu lalu saya singgah kesini. Karena keponakan saya mau membeli pesanan dari suaminya. Ketika kami masuk ke dalam.di depan kami ada Bule yg masuk disapa dengan ramah.saya sudah pasang senyum juga dong. Eh saya salah ternyata senyum dan gretting itu hanya utk si Bule

Saya sih cuek aja awalnya.lama lama saya ngerasa.kok beda ya. Kebetulan yg masuk disini hanya kami bertiga org Indonesianya. Wah luar biasa pelayanan dgn pak Le dan Buk Le nya.hahhahaa

Saya lama lama kesal juga.aura belanja sudah tak nyaman. Saya bilang ke keponakan saya.bisa cepat gak sih belanjanya.

Awal saya masih tertarik melihat tote bagsnya.akhirnya jadi males utk melihat apalagi membeli. Saya keluar saja.dan saya berdiri diluar. Kemudian ketika membayar pun.astaga.hospitalitynya dr kasir.dan org2 sekitar.gak mengenakan.mungkin krn beli 1 item aja ya kali.
Ada pelayan yg mau tabrakan sama saya.gak ada bilang permisi atau maaf ya bu.hahahhaha.kok gini ya

Kami udah masuk ke bbrp tempat di Bali.yg 90 persen pengunjungnya bule.dapat pelayanan sangat baik tak ada perbedaan.

Tapi trainninglah semua pegawai berikan kecintaan mereka pada perusahaan dan bekerja dg hati. Dan semua costumer dilayani dgn sama. Mungkin krn penampilan kami yg biasa saja.turun pake gojek hahahhaha.

Tapi utk security atau apalah namanya.dia di depan.sangat ramah. Disini aja bu nunggu gojeknya.biar gak kepanasan.makasih ya Bli.kamu mengobati hati kami.

It serves as both an editorial shop and a cafe, so it's okay to take a break after shopping.

Custom motorcycle shop with a restarting attached. Some nice clothes but very expensive for Bali in saying that the clothing was good quality.
Worth going to if in the area.

Korean reviews you trust

This is the most stylish Deus store. In addition to the store, coffee and food are sold next to it, and it was like a complex cultural space.

The drinks tasted good, especially the pistachio cake.

It would be nice to have a look at the store and try a drink or dessert.

I love coming to the cafe cause they have good coffee and tasty desserts at reasonable prices. Chill ambience and friendly service as well:)

Bit of false advertising. They had a big sign out front saying "Free cocktails ladies 9-10pm, beerpong". Walking in, the staff also said free flow cocktails are happening. When we get there, the girls went to order and said the deal is actually 100k for free flow cocktails.

There's nothing wrong with that price, I'd love free flow cocktails for 100k. It's more the principle of being mislead so we left - just write the accurate deal on the sign. Also the beerpong only had one cup at either side of the table, it's more fun with the 6/9 cup set-up:)

This is the worst meal I've had in Bali. When we had them take one dish back because the fish wasn't fresh (we both tried it and couldn't take another bite) they did take it off the bill, which is why I gave the extra star. However the manager proceeded to come out and insist the fish was fresh and we simply didn't like the taste.

Great fun on Sunday night with live music and always a nice place to sit and have a drink.

I used to love eating here in 2017 - the food was nice with reasonable prices with generous portions. Now it seems the food is trying to be a bit more high brow with fine dining style portions. Not really what you expect from a place that does custom motorbikes and surfboards

Wine portions are very small too: (If I got a bit more wine for 95k I would be happy!

Dues is a full experience. They have great art exhibitions here and also movie nights. The shop always has funky things to purchase from. The cafe is well priced and does great meals. Always great to visit when in Canggu.

Ok2 barangnya. Mustinya kalo beli banyak, ada diskon atuuh.ada cafenya jg didalem. Mayan ciwi2 or cowo2 kalo nunggu bisa duduk2 and chill with some cold beers. Tapi kayanya pasti ikut belanja deh.soalnya ok2 barangnya

Go there if you're only interested in posting photos. Annoyingly hipster. Food wasn't good and some crew were more interested in looking good rather than looking after us. (Manager has replied to my review. Thank you. Hope things improve).

A very cool place to hangout with friends. You can also enjoy live music. You can meet new people. They also have a range of drinks you can choose from. Definitely a must visit.

In my spare time I customise bikes so this was a must visit while in Bali.
The bikes displayed were great and inspirational! Loved the extended swinging arms on the adventure bike customs. May use that myself!
However, decided as I was there to have lunch. Having become used to the excellent service that you get all over Bali I was really supposed at the apathetic slow service here despite paying premium prices.
Expected smiles and responsiveness.
Having traveled here via Australia I was also surprised the prices in Bali were MORE than in Fremantle. Although much cheaper than back home in England!
Deus - love your work. Follow you on Instagram. Love your bikes. Love the ethos.
The temple echoes that. This associated cafe bar doesn’t.
It pains me to award only three stars as I wear your apparel and am inspired by your bike builds.

Great food but I do think they can improve thier customer service. When I arrived, staff paid me no attention and so I wasn't sure if I was to find my own table or whether I'd be seated. In the end, i walked up to a staff to ask. I also had to ask for water twice. But i really did enjoy everything I ordered and I would definitely go again.

Very cool space. Stopped by for the Quint exhibition (awesome) and had one of their cold brew coffees, very strong and enjoyable with a splash of milk

This is just the place to be in Canggu! Very friendly staff, nice food with very good quality, not very expensive, nice cloths and music. Definitely a must see in Bali.

Tolle Location, schöner Spot und leckeres Essen. Der Preis war super im Vergleich zum Hotel und die Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Der Shop ist zwar etwas teurer, jedoch ist der Barbereich im Hinterhof gemütlich.

Great places for chillin. Kalo anak motor atau suka sama berbau mesin, tempat ini ga boleh di lewatkan kalo anda di Bali.
Makanan nya enak semua, kopi nya pas, ga encer. Top lah

Cool space. Small portions. Sandwich was a bit dry. The salad dressing was really good, but again it was a tiny amount of both meat and salad. You pay premium for the space and atmosphere, and not for the food, so if that is what you want this place is ok.

Terrible. I was denied a glass of water with my meal and told they only “sell” water. And if I just wanted a glass I needed to order a coffee.

Plus average food and really bad bakery. Not a pleasant experience that makes me want to come back at all or even recommend the place.

Maybe it gets better at night time? Avoid for breakfast

Very mediocre. You have tons of better places to eat in walking distance in that price range. I gotta say I was expecting more from their special barbeque evening menu for 200k.

I loved food and service, but I was really SHOCKED that they were selling a motorbike with ‘Rising Sun Flag’ pattern on it which represents Japan’s military flag during world war II.
It is no difference than using symbol of Nazi (Due to the flag being used by the Imperial Japanese military, it is offensive in East Asia, particularly in Korea, which was formerly ruled under Japan, and China.)
I think they should remove that motorbike from
the store.
I am really disappointed with this as an East Asian, and as a Korean.

Yesterday had dinner with friends at Deus. Place itself is not that bad however I wouldn’t recommend to visit for dinner. Dishes are not cheap and for those money you might get the worst stomach upset as I did. I ate a burger with fries which tasted weird but I wouldn’t expect it would cause such terrible sickness that I spent the whole day in bed.
There are way more great places with better food (in terms of quality and prices).
