Highly Recommend! I had so much fun learning how to batik and making my own batik. Gusti, Wayan, and Wayan were amazing. I will return for other art fun! Amazing fun afternoon! Thanx guys.
The Batik workshop was fine, but for that price we expected a more attention and commitment from the teacher. And in the studio we’re 3 persons- the two of us and one lady on drawing class. Gusti was nice, but he really didn’t told us much about batik - like history - how was in the past and how it looks nowadays, or that if You don’t want colours to mix once You dye You need to pay attention to “close” lines carefully, or something about traditional patterns. He gave us material, heat up wax - gave 5 min presentation and than … during almost 2h came to us once to say it’s ok. For each thing we wanted to know had to come to him and ask.
To sum up, we didn’t regret coming to Five arts - class was ok, it’s nice they let us stay a little longer to finish. If You are looking for creative thing to do by yourself or with kids (but you are not into art) it’s ok. But if You look for a place to learn the technique- I recommend to go somewhere else.
I’d give it more stars if I could! We had such a wonderful morning with Gusti. We booked a batik class and he was such a patient and kind teacher, with the emphasis being on having fun and learning a new skill. Gusti is very passionate about art and sharing his knowledge and skills with other people. We booked via WhatsApp (number on their website) and went for the 9am class and there was just 3 of us, how lucky we were! Thank you so much for teaching us, we will treasure our master pieces!
10/10 recommend these activities. Gusti and putu are amazing teachers. So patient and welcoming. Batik making was sooooo incredible. Very relaxing. Best thing I did in Bali.
My visit to Five Arts Studio was a beautiful and unique artistic experience that left me with newfound appreciation for Keliki painting using Chinese ink. From the moment I arrived, the warm and friendly atmosphere, coupled with the patience of the teacher, set the stage for an unforgettable few hours of creativity.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the guidance provided by my talented teacher, Putu. He patiently walked me through the intricate techniques required for this traditional art form. Whether you're a novice or an experienced artist, Putu's friendly demeanor and willingness to assist ensured a fulfilling learning experience.
The studio's setting is nothing short of spectacular. The open-air environment immerses you in the natural beauty of the surroundings, offering a stunning view that's both inspiring and soothing. It's a perfect backdrop for artistic expression and adds to the overall charm of the studio.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Five Arts Studio experience to anyone seeking a creative and peaceful escape. It's a wonderful opportunity to delve into the world of Keliki painting and Chinese ink, offering a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
However, one aspect to note is that I wasn't offered the opportunity to add colour to my artwork during my visit. If adding colour is something you're interested in, it's advisable to inquire and communicate your preferences beforehand to ensure your artistic vision is fully realized.
In summary, Five Arts Studio provides a tranquil haven for artistic exploration. My friendly teacher, the unique experience of Keliki painting and the breathtaking studio setting make it a must-visit destination. This studio truly offers a creative escape like no other.
This studio is magical. We did the batik class and our instructor Gusti was so so lovely. He also happens to take amazing videos and pictures! The class itself was 10/10. We also ordered lunch there and it was the most delicious, home-cooked Balinese meal I’ve ever had. I will hold onto this experience forever, truly recommend it.
Best experience of Bali! Attended the Batik painting class. Instructors were incredibly helpful and friendly. Allowed us to take control of our art and create memories we could physically take home with us. Will never forget this experience. Must do for everyone in Bali.
I did the Keliki painting workshop, everyone was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share their expertise. If you want a personalised souvenir, I would definitely recommend doing this. I booked directly off their website, paid cash on arrival. Pick-up and drop-off were included in the price (for hotel in Ubud).
Had a fabulous experience learning how to make a batik with Wayan and Gusti. A must do if your in Ubud they were friendly, humourous happy to share their knowledge and very patient and I love how they are trying to keep the traditional arts alive and sharing them with the young people in their village. Highly recommend
Fantastic place to take a Batik class. Very friendly and helpful people. They speak fine English. They are flexible if you want to change the date and think along. The result is beautiful, despite the fact that working with the wax is quite difficult. Recommended if you are in Bali!
We had an excellent experience at Five Art Studio doing a wood carving tutorial. Wayan was very knowledgeable and incredibly patient with us as he guided us through the process. I would definitely recommend this experience to my friends back home.
The best last minute decision we made in Ubud for my 8 and 10 year old daughters and myself to do. We did the batik art workshop, great value. Perfect location and the friendliest people running the classes. Thank you for the life long memories.
Great experience. I booked throught their website the day before and they contacted me through WhatsApp to arrange for free transportation. I woke up not feeling well and had to cancel, they were very nice and understanding.
I booked another day and they picked me up right on time. The place is really nice with beautiful rice padis view. I chose the batik workshop and the instructor was really good. He is a great teacher and speakes very good English. It lasted close to 4 hours for less than a half million.
This was one of the highlights of my trip and I wish of I could do more activities with them.
I signed up for their wood carving class. It was a great experience. The studio is really cool. It's on the second floor, open air, we listened to Balinese music, surrounded by art and nature. I recommend you sign up for one of their various art classes. All the artists/teachers were really nice guys too.
I was one afternoon at the Five Art studio for the wood carving. It was very well organised (pickup from Ubud) and it was great to try the balinese art of wood carving. They have prepared pieces of wood to ensure everybody can take a nice souvenir back home. The teacher was excellent, showed me everything needed and supervised my work carefully. I can really recommend going there to try out art in Bali!
A great place to learn about traditional Balinese art and craft. The teachers are very talented and passionate artist themselves. I learnt how to draw traditional balinese art and woodcarving. Wayan Pujana was a very patient and kind mentor to me. Will be back:) Makasih!
Super good, even if you can't paint they will learn you. There is things for more experienced as well for the beginners. Can really recommend this to everyone
I attended stone carving workshop at Five Art. Thanks to my great teacher Putu who was guiding me and encouraging me to do my own piece of art and helped me to fix couple of mistakes that I've done resulting in a nice carving of a bird that I'm very proud of.
