This has to be the best Indian food in all of Bali. Actually, the best food in all of Bali. The flavours were incredible, the portions were substantial and the service was 11/10. The staff were smiling and friendly on arrival and throughout our entire dinner there. They were beyond accomodating when asking which menu items are vegan, and they were able to adapt ANY dish to be vegan. If you're in Bali, you have to check out Gateway of India. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Masala Chai is the only good thing here and the ambience is really good. The food is below average, don't order papdi chat or any other chats, it's all bad. Not worth it. If you want to go and have a nice chai, then it's really good to visit. I didn't like other food
Extensive menu with a large variety of vegetarian & non-vegetarian dishes. A very modern looking restaurant with an option to sit inside in air conditioning or outside. Service was brilliant & the 2/1 cocktail happy hour was a hit with my partner. Food was very tasty, especially the cheesy garlic naan, butter chicken & chicken Korma. Highly recommend.
You will get satisfactory foodstuffs and the most suitable place for spicy lovers. But the expense is slightly higher than other restaurants in Kuta Bali. The restaurant interior also could have been more pleasant. It's a place for one meal, not for regular days.
I had food at many indian restaurants mainly ubud, nusa pendia, even In kuta. I thought of trying this place and honestly I felt like it was more of a indian food for foreigners but not indians. I had tea and had ordered dahi Puri as well but very clearly I mentioned not to prepare or bring it before I finish my tea (quantity is for 2 also was trying to enjoy my tea then rush). While having tea I told the waitress to bring vegetable biryani instead of dahi Puri to which she said it was already prepared, which wasn't true as you know it will get soggy if it is prepared for more then 20min and just is resting in the kitchen. So I HAD to say ok. And then I had the biryani on the go and some at the restaurant. Dahi Puri was blend nothing Indian about it, tamarind sauce was absolutely sour which is fine but the green sauce was sour as well. No filling except potatoes a bit (I waited for the dish to come after my tea which the staff apparently said was prepared already, I don't know why on earth you have to lie). And this was like 50k something. The accompaniment with veg biryani, the sour curd, the quantity was so less I was feeling embarrassed. A real indian restaurant will know what to give as an accomplishment with an Indian dish but these guys even charge for pickle or onion. I already had quite a bit of rice and then the staff comes and asks me if I want chilly or onion as it free? Why would you just not give it with the food? First time in my months trip to bali I have never felt this disappointed of spending money. You serve Indian food you need heart to serve in an Indian way. And yes since the staff kept asking about feedback I was quite frustrated and I just said yes it's nice because I didn't see the they were gonna do anything about it anyways. Also I did not like how the staff was a bit pressurizing to add more food items (indirectly while asking for your order).
I always love Indian food and came to this restaurant for dinner after a long day of a hectic life… the food was good! Highly recommended Indian restaurant in Kuta.
Food is really good super yum, had fish curry, it was awesome.however, i love a cocktail.i just want it good.i ordered 2 for 1. Took a sip, out of the first, warm and tasted yuk, like i’d be sick if i drank it.i said no way the next one could be worse, it was flat water with lime, no booze at all, again terrible.so i sent back and had a beer.i told the waitress, cocktails are terrible and i can’t drink.she said, they are already on the bill? ! Before i paid the bill.they were and i paid for them…. Couldn’t be bothered for a fight.been to bali heaps, first time ive had this one!
don’t order cocktails, to the resturant, don’t serve cocktails, and don’t charge good people for them.
The staff are wonderful, excellent at their jobs, very accommodating. My partner and I have been going for the last 4days straight. Dishes are absolutely delicious, a beautiful combination of spices in all dishes (yes we tried a variety also coming from an Indian herself). Bar staff were just as amazing! Making tailored drinks, and deserts for us both. The ambience and music (beautiful Punjabi & Hindi songs). Air conditioned, very clean and reasonably priced. In the heart of Kuta. Im surprised that not more people are dining here! However loved having the entire place to ourselves! Thankyou Guys for an amazing experience
We had Papdi chat, pakora, paneer paratha, Gobi paratha, butter roti, baingan tomato sabzi, curd rice and masala tea here. Ended with Shahi tukda. They made everything so authentic and tasty. They are decently priced, staff is very friendly and they run promotional offers often.
Late in review, visited in July and August 23. After trying other restaurants and big disappointment, I tried this one. It was surprising that one of the best, authentic Indian foods I found out. I think I visited more than 10 times, and i never disappointed with their food and service. The ambience was awesome. Service is really so nice, music is a little loud but nice to listen to. All the items were with awesome taste, a perfect combination of spices and with awesome taste. I suggest you mist try all kinds of biryanis, all are superb tasty. They prepared lassi from curd.so taste is so different than yoghurt. Roti is so fresh and feels like homemade. I give all credit to chef VIJAY.one of the master. You can try DAL. Oh my omg that's so superb. Typical North Indian taste.all vegetables are so superb. Aloo gobi is superstar. But other vegetables are also tasty. I must suggest samosa and tea.that was mind-blowing, and they serve it very nicely. Staff is so professional. I must suggest that if you are in bali and want to taste authentic Indian food, this is the place where you can find it.
I only ordered a curry chicken (maybe there were not even five pieces of meat), two nann, an appetizer and a juice, 284K, the taste was nothing, but the price is outrageous in Bali
Just everything everything is amazing. The detail given to presentation and amazing cooking was brilliant. I really enjoyed eating here it was such a treat. Really nice also to eat some vegetarian food and have so much choice on the menu. Recommend!
Tried a few indian restaurants in kuta, by far the best food at gate of india. Great vegetarian options. 5 star Ambiance and service. Was our go to place for dinner for most of our holiday.
The major positive here is atmosphere, assuming that you are interested in a quiet, air conditioned restaurant. Typical restaurants in the area are open to the streets and therefore quite noisy and lack a temperature-controlled environment. Prices are slightly elevated, relatively, and expect smaller portions. Very clean. The menu is extensive with Indian and Indonesian cuisine. Service is a bit slow but very friendly.
After a crazy and tiering shop around the busy Kuta area, stepping into this restaurant was great. Calming atmosphere inside, and wonderful vibe from the Kuta nightlife if you are seated outside. Amazing vegetarian and vegan options, and delicious food all round. I had the spicy eggplant dish and it was divine!
Loved the food. As authentic as it can get to Indian food. Really good option for vegetarian people. Ambiance and service was also perfect. Chef from Uttarakhand, so do give your regards for the delicious food.
