Gateway Of India Seminyak

I arrived the staff were not very welcoming, I asked for a Paneer Makhani & when it arrived it was clear it was the same sauce as the chicken one as it had small chicken bits in it. I’m a vegetarian and food being in the same sauce or juices as meat definitely means it’s not veggie anymore. The lady did said I can order something else so I got a Aloo Gobi to avoid the same issue but instead there was a hair in my food. Really unacceptable honestly, I will not be going back. Also as an Indian from what I tasted it wasn’t authentic.

Loved the food here. Clean and simple flavours. The naans and rotis are a must try, they are made in tandoor. The vegetable biryani is really nice. Their iced lemon tea is absolutely amazing!

Had 3 meals in 5 nights staying in seminyak.

Liking the new decor after lockdown. We been here for the past 10years everytime visit Bali. From very open air to new aircon decor.

The food still as good as. Some changes of the new downsized menu is not on our favour. The most delicious minced lamb stuffed in chicken tandoor with egg white is no more. The only restaurant in Asia we can find this dish. Vanished.

The other slowly vanishing dish is stuffed okra. 3 times we been here, not available. No doubt. This is slowly being taken off the menu soon.

Do go for the mutton dish here. Good quality chunk of mutton. Dhaba mutton is my favourite.

Tandoor is always good as they are using thighs here. Shame less and less mutton dish. Mostly chicken now. Getting boring.

The spiciness is on point here.

Beautiful place, great ambience. I tried below food items.
Veg Biryani (excellent taste, good portion)
Veg Pulao (okay taste and too less portion)
Tandoori Roti (very good, hot and soft, good size)
Recommended if you're craving for Indian food in or around Seminyak.

Amazing indian food with some of it made in the tandoori oven right in front of us. The best indian we've had since Scotland! Attentive, knowledgeable, friendly staff with everything looking clean and tidy. If you love indian food. Come here!

How to take away if your staff said there is no paper bag or plastic bag in your restaurant? 1 of your menu is too hot, you only serve it in plastic bowl and that is too hot in hand's palm.

As good as you get in UK or OZ. The chicken and fish curries we had were excellent. Plenty of rich flavoursome gravy (we requested spicy). Currently offering 40% off for dine in and take away. Last orders 8.30pm.

Nice place, big portions and good food. But it’s not really authentic. A little overpriced. It was a good dinner but for one time visit only.

Best indian food in bali tried many restaurant but this is the best in bali authentic indian taste.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Bali tasty food and nice staff as compair to other restaurants price is almost same but taste and service is far better than others we had food in queens tandoor and ganesha price is bit higher than gateway of India and taste is not like Indian food.

Food was just okay. Not great at all. It’s better to visit Queens tandoor as the food der is amazing.

Food was great, but the price indicated is not the one paid.
I had a butter chicken, which cannot be eaten without bread or rice.
The waiter asked me "will you take bread or rice", implying it was included, which should be the case. Didn't ask me if I wanted extra anything.
When the bill arrived, surprise, the rice was extra - and VERY expensive.
Knowing that BEFORE when looking at the menu and checking the price, I would not have chosen this restaurant. It's across my hotel, I'm here for a long time - and won't visit it ever again.

If you're looking for a yummy and delicious Indian food, then Gateway of India is the perfect place. When you order, you can customise the ingredients and also be optional with the taste that you prefer. People working here are really awesome, very kind and friendly too! I have been here for 5 continuous days and had the perfect Indian food. Geetha was the one serving us and she speaks a better English and understands your need properly.

Have to pay extra. For rice. At an Indian restaurant. Seriously? And that's not written anyway that the rice (without which you can eat the meal) is not included. Good food, but not worth the price nor the bad surprise that ruins any mood.

I tried this place two times and tandoori chicken and the platter was fantastic. Mutton briyani was okay but wasnt made from basamti rice but mutton was properly cooked.

Place is clean and staff is polite and welcoming.

Not recommended. Does not in any way taste or authentic. Highly priced and not a place I would visit again. Vegetarian food was not good. Paneer Tikka masala had no Paneer and Dal Makhani had no Makhani. The vegetable biryani is to be served with raita. Was not accompanied. Looks like cost cutting in many aspects. Just the Nimbu Pani was good. Unless you are desperate this is not a place to have Indian food.
Two stars was only because it is an Indian restaurant.

I like this restoran. The food is so delicious and the service so good. I like some staff in this restoran. This restoran have a neat and handsome waiter, his name Virya handsome boy also remind me when i was younger.

I liked it. Great for Vego’s. Good ambiance, fast service, tasty food and good prices. Especially if you get the thali tasting plate before 5pm. I could have shared it but it was delicious.:)

Foods are overpriced. Quality of foods are below average. Not reccomended. Insted of going to Gate way of India you can go Atithi one of the best Indian restaurants in bali, Avoid gate way of india

This establishment has a sign saying "authentic Indian food", but food was anything but authentic. I ordered chicken biryani and they made it with Chinese rice. Do they know that Basmati rice is used to cook biryani, and the taste was so bland I couldn't even finish half a plate. Also rishmi kebab had no masala except for black pepper.
Totally taste less food.

Food is awesome specialy palak dal and dal makhani price is ok compare to other restaurant staff is very coperative and smart nice manage only ambiance need to improve rest all is perfect keep it up.

Terrible service. Waitress brought more expensive items than ordered. Would not recommend, take your money to a different restaurant

Foods seems overpriced. Quality of foods are below average. Only good thing is the nice hospitality of the employee.

I really loved the Dal and the Pea Rice. Also I appreciated the specific Information which meals are vegan and which are not.

It was great to be here. The food was excellent, manager chandan greeted us and the staff was courteous.
