In Da Surf Camp & School Canggu Bali

It was absolutely amazing. I loved the place. Felt very cozy and in contrast to other surf places, I actually managed to get work done there. The team is lovely and the teachers made me feel very safe inside the water. Clear recommendation!

The whole Team is just awesome. Very friendly and always willing to improve to get even better. The surfcoaches are highly skilled and helpful in the water and also outside. The Camp has a nice atmosphere where you like to spent some time to talk to other guests, the staff and the coaches. It feels they are a small family working together. We can 100% recommend to go there to improve your surfskills and would definitely come back if we come back to Bali.

Great surf camp!
Small but personal, you get to know all the other people in the camp easily.
Small groups (2-3 people per instructor, mostly 2)
You go out surfing once a day, and have a video analysis of your surfing every 2 days (or daily if you are lucky) which is very helpful.
The vibe of the hostel is great
Breakfast is nice.
Beds are very comfy and wide.
Dorms have a lot of privacy because all have curtains.
And the cleaning staff does a great job cause it’s spotless!

The location is a bit further away from the center (which is actually nice as it can get very overwhelming in busy canggu) but still walkable, or you can take a grab or gojek easily.

Really enjoyed my stay at In Da Surf! The place was very clean and with great air conditioning. Me and my girlfriend stayed both in a private room and also in a dorm, and we liked them both. Private room is more luxurious, but the doorm was very private also so it was also good.

The surf lessons were also really good! The instructors were nice, caring and super friendly! The staff and the other guests were always socializing which made it easy to meet people here!

Great coaches and atmosphere! Accomodation is also very nice and clean and you will meet many lovely people there. (It is also a normal hostel which hosts "non-surfers".) Would definitely recommend!:)

Th surf school becomes family to me in only one week.
The teachers have a great knowledge, are helpful and you can do a good progress for your own surfing. Especially the video analysing is very helpful.

Surf instructors were excellent and very friendly. Suggest staying for a while as the lessons get better as they get to know you. Hostel was clean and staff was incredibly kind. Family atmosphere.

Fuss-free process from start to finish. Instructors were friendly and helpful. Appreciated the correction of posture/technique which helped me find my surfing groove ;) wish there could be more flexibility in surf package/timing options so that I could surf more.will plan more days in Canggu next time!

We really enjoyed our short stay with In Da Surf. The booking process was really easy, and they arranged airport transfers for us and there was great communication from the admin team. Everyone at the hostel is really friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious, especially the banana pancakes and mee goreng! The surf instructors were fab and accomodating. The video analysis afterwards was really helpful, as was the surf tutorial. Our room was spacious with a power shower and you could step right out into the pool! We would have liked to have spent longer here, and hope to come back!

Took my first surfing lessons ever at In Da Surf and was able to even pop-up and take bigger waves within a week. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to learn surfing.

We did a course some years back, and it was great. Indra took time to explain and the videos showed things to work on. We learnt how to roll correctly under water and up until now I use what I learnt.

I am a total beginner and I had amazing lessons- I chose to do 1: 1 instruction which was totally worth it. I had 3 lesson days with a rest day in between each surf day which I think really helped me make the most out of each lesson (I am also 52 years old). My instructor, Sunny as he liked to be called, was amazing. I really felt like he took his time explaining things and I had a sense of safety under his guidance. It was super fun, and I hope to try pursuing additional lessons in the future. The school was clean and modern, nicely appointed. The young people who stayed there, seemed comfortable there. I stayed in other lodging. Booking and admin were easy to work with, WhatsApp made this easy while traveling. Highly recommend this surf school.

My experience at indasurf has been perfect, the guys at the camp are very nice people and helped me a lot with my surfing skills.
I started with a soft board and after a few days I got a hard board and started practicing my first turns.
Their recommendations were very helpful, and I feel that I have improved a lot during these two weeks.
The instructors are 100% involved in the guests, they are very professional in the water and very good friends outside as well, always ready to have a few beers or even organise a bbq.
As for the accommodation, it is spacious, clean, quiet and has a large swimming pool. The staff who work at the camp prepare delicious breakfasts and are very friendly.
I definitely recommend this place if you want to surf and make new friends.

My wife and I have tried different surfing schools before finally finding in da surf in Canggu. I have to say that they were the best of all of them. Indra and Romi were very clear in giving pointers to us in order for us to fix our surfing habits and since each session is video recorded, we would sit down with them after each session so they could give us an in-depth analysis on how to improve our surfing skills. When we surfed at Batu Bolong, the place was crowded! But they gave us plenty of reassurance that we’d be ok and we managed to take more than 10 surfing lessons without a single accident. They also brought us to less crowded places so we can practice our surfing even more without having to compete with others to catch the waves. I’d recommend them to anyone who is interested in surfing, be it for those trying the sport for the first time or even beginners who want to level up to the intermediate level. They even provide surfing lessons for kids. Would surf with them again in the future for sure!

Had a great experience getting a refresher lesson with these guys. They covered some surf theory that every other lesson had brushed over - it made a huge difference. That was about a year ago and I was to go back to Bali would definitely visit again.

Took the surf lesson together with my girlfriend today, and we’re pretty excited about our first training we got! Our instructor Sunny is very experienced surfer and extremely nice person overall, so we felt pretty confident on a lineup. Also In Da Surf team has an operator who filmed every single ride, so we had a chance to get priceless footage and advices from Sunny after surfing. I booked seven lessons with them and definitely recommend to everyone! It was my first time surfing and all my instructors were knowledgeable and super sweet. I surfed in the mornings and afternoons which they schedule according to how the weather and waves were that day. It was cool to see videos on how we surfed and was taught how to improve for the next lesson. Everyone was kind and welcoming, from the surf instructors to the staff working behind the desk. I will definitely surf with them when i visit Bali again.

Me and my boyfriend took 5 surf lessons at In Da Surf and that was the best decision we’ve made, even though each day we had to travel from Seminyak to Canggu. The best part was our instructor, Sunny. He was looking after two of us, constantly making sure that we learn and enjoy the process at the same time. When he saw that we are tired and it’s super tough for us to get to the line up - he was there to help. Super calm and explaining the same thing for another 5 times with a smile on his face. Supportive and giving feedback on our moves.
After each surf session we watched our videos and discussed what should be improved. Overall I would say we’ve progressed nicely during those lessons thanks to our instructor Sunny
when I'm back to Bali - I would be happy to have few more sessions with In Da Surf again

It’s my second time with Indasurf and I can’t express how great it is with these guys! When you wake up every morning to take the class at 7 am and you are really happy about every wave you take. Great surf instructors and one of the best surf camps that I have been to. Would highly recommend to surfers of any experience!

I payed for 5 lessons ahead. The instructions are okay. On the 4th lesson I got an injury with my board and couldn’t continue anymore. Even though the school saw I can’t continue anymore, they decided to not return back the money for the 5th lesson. I’d advise to pay each lesson apart, in this case you ensure yourself from loosing any money.

The experience with In Da Surf was amazing. My 2 teachers Irfan and Romi are really good teachers that pushed me to become better and get out of my comfort zone. By doing soo, they definitely got me addictive to surfing and I hope to be back soon. Thank you to the entire team and wish you good waves.

My daughter and I just had two days of lessons with the In Da Surf crew and it was amazing! They picked us up / dropped us from our guesthouse, provided great in the water coaching. We had one instructor for the two of us, with other students in the water also with 2 students per instructor, it felt safe and supportive. All of the instructor seemed to be aware of where in the water we were, gave encouragement and tips. The after surfing video critique was so helpful - to watch how everyone surfed and see how we could improve. I also loved that the tips were always how to surf better - it never felt negative. We would totally surf with them again!

I had the best time learning to surf at In Da Surf, the instructors are all awesome guys who are very knowledgeable. I have never surfed before but Iwan, Wellsend and Tulim were so helpful and I improved a lot over 4 days. I will definitely be back!

Stayed three nights and had three lessons. Video analysis and semi private surfing lessons were very good. Staff are laid back fun and positive. Rooms are also very clean, breaktast was nice and the hostel staff are also fun and friendly to talk to. Glad I chose this place!

I did two lessons with the team at In Da Surf and they were awesome. My instructor Iwan was amazing at providing support in the water, I felt safe and supported and I feel like I learnt so much over the two lessons. It was 1 instructor to 2 students which I think works perfectly, the whole team were fab and the video analysis after your session is so helpful. I received some really constructive feedback from my teachers and feel inspired to keep learning to surf thanks so much!

The staffs are very friendly and the surf coach also are very helpful. They make sure that you're always safe and able to ride the waves. Coach Irfan and Wellsend are an awesome surf coach. They'll observed your Techniques and they'll correct your mistakes if they spot it. Love their VW Combi Van!?

Had a two hour early morning private lesson with Sunny who was super friendly and laid back. Found booking via WhatsApp very convenient. They were very on time picking up from my hotel and the teaching was excellent. The video analysis after the lesson was also really helpful to see how to improve. Would be great if they could send download link to video instead of SD cars/USB stick though.

I cannot say enough positive things about the crew at In Da Surf camp. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and easy going. The video analysis is a great way to learn also. Make sure you hit them up when you're in Bali!

I stayed at In Da Surf for 1 week and I had an amazing time. My surfing improved greatly and am now surfing green waves! My coach was Surya and he was excellent. He explained what I had to do really well, has excellent knowledge of surfing and is very friendly and made sure I caught some great waves!
The rooms and hostel was very clean and the breakfast tasted great! I'll definitely go back!

Great Surf school with kind and experienced surf guides

My girlfriend and me really enjoyed the surf lessons with our surf guide Surya. We surfed once before in New Zealand a couple of years ago but only for like two hours and it was really hard to stand up. In this school in Canggu we stood up on our first day and moved to the intermediate course after two days. We surfed most days with Surya who was a really great and chill guide. One day we surfed with Irfan who was also great. You felt really safe with all of the surf guides, they are all super experienced and really kind.

The Feedback you received on the water was already really good, but the video analysis that you get almost every day was amazing.

In total we stayed for 7 days at the Boka Kubu Hotel which was also really nice and we had 7 surf lessons.

I don’t often write reviews, it takes for something to be really awful or really amazing and In Da Surf are definitely amazing!

I got so swamped with all the surf schools etc that are out there and I’m so glad I choose you guys. I learnt so much in 4 lessons and I know exactly now what I need to do to improve. All the guides are sooo lovely and chilled, I always felt 100% safe with them which is v.important to me. Thank you soooo much to you all and yes I will work on my paddling or buy a turbo jet for it!: D much love!

I Spend almost one week in this Camp and can just highly recommend it! The people are super friendly and it's just fun to be there. The groups are not very big (surf instructor is responsible for about 2-3 pers.) which I found very pleasant, as it is possible to get many individual tips during the surf lesson. The video analysis is also very helpful to identify improvement opportunities in your surf-style! I had a cool time there and will come back during my next Bali Trip!

I had the surf & stay package. It was unforgettable! The rooms are very clean, the set up is amazing, I stayed in a 4 bed dorm. The staff are incredible, the breakfast is nice. I went on a surf lesson at 7am everyday throughout my stay, the instructors were amazing, great sense of human & they all helped me improve incredibly. I would high recommend in da surf. Before going to bali, i've done some research choosing which surf school is best for me, and i chose In Da Surf because of the reasonable price, nice accommodation and detail surfing lesson. And i was RIGHT!
They provide theory class, video analysts and also surfing instructor (2 students max for 1 instructor)
I can see everyone (first time surfer) got on the board on the first lesson, thanks for the effective teaching.
I will join the surf camp again without any hesitation cuz four days arent enough!

I spent 1 week in Da surf camp.
Ladies (Verena, Andira) are kind and friendly. You won't get lonely in the hostel^^. Already miss having a small talk with them and their sarcasm and jokes.
And instructors are great and professional. Mostly Irfun and Iwan taught me. They helped me a lot to understand the basics of surfing and safety things.
I recommend this shop if you are looking for a surfing camp.

Had an unforgettable time here, the staff are amazing and super friendly. The hostel is kept very clean and tidy. The rooms are amazing with curtains on the beds and very good locking cabinets. Location is great on one of the main strips of Canggu, with many great shops and restaurants very near by. Definitely recommend learning to surf here, very knowledgeable staff and got me wanting to become a pro surfer Will 100% return here! 10/10

I've been with indasurf over 4 surf camps since early this year, and it's been great! The lessons are very informative and helpful. It's also wonderful that they have alot of emphasis on safety, which is very important when you're out in the water. I love how the instructors are able to tailor the lessons to any level and are able to identify my strengths and weaknesses for better progress. More importantly, they have such great heart for the sport and an infectious spirit for surfing! The hostel is clean, and everyone there is treated as family. Will definitely be back!

Having my first surfing experience with In Da Surf was amazing. The instructors were patient, friendly and had good humour which kept lessons interesting. At the end of each session we also had video analysis of our surfs, where the instructors explained our mistakes and areas to improve. Pro tip: If you want to keep a copy of your surf videos, please bring a thumb drive! We also had a surf theory lesson that was a bonus. Thank you Surya and Bun for the great time, i’ll be back!:)

It was our first time at Inda Surf School, but we did not live there. We had previously agreed on a pick up at the hotel and the guys were always super punctual. Special Thanks to the two "Scooter Boys". We had booked a beginner course for 3 days and felt in good hands. Everyone was very friendly and it left a very professional impression. There is always a video analysis after Surflesson, which in my opinion really helps to improve. You get in contact with all surf instructors, but in the water you usually have always the same surf instructor, you only have to share with one (!) Another person. If you leave the course, you will not be ignored by the other surf teachers. The surf instructors tell you when to start paddling and to stand up, as a bonus there is a little extra boost from your surf teacher during paddling to gain speed. We were lucky enough to spend 3 days with Irfun and we could not ask for a better one from the surf instructors. Thank you my friend for having fun, tips and tricks. All other surf instructors were super nice, but we would, if you can choose it (?), again Irfun want to have. Thanks also for the funniest and best Videoanlysen of you. We hope to see you again

We’ve taken surf lessons in 3 schools in different countries before and this school was the best one and the first one where we got much more value for money than expected. Everything was good: nice spots with not too much people, good boards, video analysis after each lesson, good surf theory lesson, perfect organisation and family atmosphere.and the most important - really professional guides! We were surfing with Surya, he is a cool guide and a nice person. He gave us great and clear advices in the water, supported us before and after, was very attentive and helpful! Fully recommend!

So happy i choose this surf school for my first lesson. I dream to try surfing for a long time already but wasn't sure if I can really do this, not a best swimmer. I took one lesson to try first and it was great. I extend it and in the end was surfing all week I stay in Canggu (7 lessons in total). Guide was very helpful, they always stay close to me in the water. On the last few lessons we went to another spot and first I felt not confident, lineup was a bit far from the beach, but my guide was always next to me, he explain me everything and was very encouraging. I didn't expect I will progress so fast. From the huge board on the beginning to hard board in only few days and then on my last lesson I try 8'0 what was a bit more difficult to balance but in the end of the lesson I felt very comfortable on it. Sad I stay only one week in Canggu, I would take more lessons but I already have another place booked in Gili. I will be back for sure.

It took me a month to choose the place to stay and surf in Bali. I was in surf camp in Portugal last summer and my experience was not great, reality vs expectation: (So this time I was a little bit in doubt and had so many questions. Thanks to Hugo to answer all my emails patiently and all the team for taking care of everything during my stay. I booked Surf and Stay package in private room. The Villa was nice and cozy, clean. It's very quiet there, the view is great. I took my yoga mat with me and they have a very nice loan behind to practice, I enjoy it so much.
Lessons were great too. I do sport a lot and improve my surfing skills is my main goal for the last few years. All the instructors speak English very well. First, my coach was Indra, and after a few lessons Iwan. I felt very comfortable with both of them in the water. For the 5 days I really felt the result, and I got a better understanding of the technique and the ocean in general. Video analyzing is the must, it's so good to see how you surfing because in the water you feel so different haha Surf theory lesson with Surya was very informative and he spent another hour answering our questions, what was so nice of him:)
I would definitely come back to continue my training and recommend In Da Surf team to other travelers.

I had such a great week at Surfer House. My lessons with Surya were awesome- it was my first time surfing, and I felt really comfortable with him in the water! He gave lots of helpful advice and support after every wave and during surf theory. Would recommend to everyone!

Just had an amazing surfing lesson with Surya. It was my first time surfing so I thought I would never manage but I actually stood up on the board after few waves!
His explanations were really clear, giving great directions in the water and good tips to improve! Checking the videos after the session was as well good to see what to do better next time:)
