We ordered two different dishes, my dish even though I said I didn't want anything spicy, the girl assured me that it wouldn't be spicy, after receiving it it was impossible for me to eat it because it was too spicy, I decided to talk to them and they decided to change my dish for something Totally different, which I appreciated and did not pay any extra. This is why they provide good service for me. And all the food was extremely delicious.

Beautiful food in a gorgeous garden setting. Exceptional service. Satays served over charcoals. Presentation was lovely. Accommodated a vegetarian option for my daughter. Highly recommend.

Excellent Indonesian cuisine! If you're not sure you'll like Indonesian food this restaurant will convince you that it is delicious! Our group of 11 thoroughly enjoyed the Rijstaffel array of foods. The mango smoothie and fresh pineapple juice was excellent! The atmosphere is quaint, quiet, attractive, and romantic with just the right volume to the background music. It's off the busy street which adds to the ambience. I recommend it!

Delicious! We tried a couple of the Indonesian favorites and they were all delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Great expectations then you arrive and half the menu is not available.
Unacceptable.

Have eaten at Poppies many times in the past 20 years. Dined there 2 nights ago and the food was very disappointing.
Started with Lobster Bisque and i think they forgot the lobster. Found 4 pieces that were the size of a 5cent piece.
Followed this with the Seafood platter for 2. Scallops very tough, snapper dry and overcooked, prawns overcooked and powdery and the Lobster was so overcooked it was near inedible.
When this was mentioned to staff the answer we got was that the lobster was poached not grilled and thats what happens? Really. Well why cook it that way, why not cook it to the best of your ability. It only reflects badly on the restaurant. Dunno if we will bother again

This restaurant is a literal hole in the wall. Behind the wall is a gorgeous garden that is the dining area secluded from the honking horns of cars on nearby streets.

The service is excellent. If you've dined in Bali your idea of excellent might be that the service staff at least brought you your food. Here the service is actually excellent. As a native New Yorker I felt like I was receiving service like back home.

The food, especially the seafood we had, was so delicious. We've been to several cities around the world and my wife and I considered this restaurant our second favorite restaurant we've been to so far. Again, if you've dined in Bali then you know that many places in Bali are bad imitations of other foods. This restaurant has been here for over 45 years and there's a good reason.

The dessert was the icing on the cake, no pun intended. If you've been let down by "local food, " and you're probably searching right now because you've been let down, then you must stop here.

Lovely staff, lovely garden to eat in surrounded by plants, can sit next to the pond with fountain and fish and the garden is covered by vines above so you don't get burnt, they have fans facing the tables and mosquito deterrents under their tables, menu had lots of vego options for Bali, the spring rolls were very good and the seafood is good quality, I had the cold vego satay salad was good, staff are very helpful and friendly. We were recommended to come here, we will return and recommend to other people. It is not easy to find good quality traditional vegetarian food in a beautiful setting. Definitely worth it. Down Poppies lane closer to Legian street. Vegan friendly (no animal or seafood meats or products including all dairy, egg, oyster sauce and fish paste) options advertised on the menu would be a plus.

The ambiance and the secluded setting is very nice and helps you to cut out the noise of the busy street. Service was somewhat slow. The food was okay the seafood bbq was tasty and nicely presented with the mini bbq brought to you. Their signature cocktail is okay but isnt worth the price. Overall, the restaurant is quite pricy compared to what you get. If you want this type of environment, then i recommend Kori, which is cheaper.

You must visit this amazing traditional restaurant if you are visiting Kuta. The outdoor setting is a beautiful Balinese garden. Order your Pina Colada a few hours in advance and you get to drink it from your own hand crafted coconut mask. The menu is loaded with traditional dishes and the sharing platter gives you a taste of everything. Highly recommended and reasonably priced.
