Puri Garden Hotel

Overall it’s a nice place, it’s a shame the owner is a rude disrespectful pig. Shouting at any customer and bringing them to tears is unacceptable. Beware of this hostel.

Honestly the best hostel of my life!
A bit expensive, but totaly worth it considering allll the services and activities offered. Bunch of activities, free massages, greatest pool, puppy relaxation.
The staff is absolutely amazing (shootout to Jack who is the funniest and nicest guy ever).
Loved my stay there! I cannot revommand more.

Puri Garden is more on the expensive side of hostels but the value of money is good. The social vibe is there, they organise activities for people in the hostel to socialise like Indo night that has food and live music, and also trivia night. The hostel also has a cafe nearby that you can eat and order some cocktails to drink while sunbathing. The location was great, lots of western food nearby and about a 25 minute walk to Ubud Palace.

BAD EXPERIENCE *
I live in Ubud long term, I went here today and ordered beer and food. I was sitting down and once she handed me the beer she forced me to leave saying that area was only for hotel guests. My friend was staying there at puri garden, he said please do not kick my friend out she paid for a drink and is here for me. Lisma or Lisna, said no she has to go. Kicked me out rudely and refused to let me finish my drink i bought with my friend. REALLY BAD customer service.
What kind of facility is this? As someone who lives in Bali for over 5 years I never have seen a place run like this.
We cannot pay to use the pool, we cannot sit at the pool if we buy items, and we cannot be at the pool if our friends are staying at the property? In the end you have mad customers + youre losing money.
Also the staff (lisna) was unkind. I hope they can better fix this sitation!

Would not recommend. The bed had BED BUGS. I moved to a different hotel, before which Puri Garden promised me my refund; however, they did not respond to my calls or texts. Very very poor service.

Sadly I have to leave only one star. I had to cancel my trip a few days before going to the Hostel because I got really sick. Although I cancelled well in advance the Hostel still let me pay for all nights. After an email where I asked them to reconsider their decision and give me back at least the money for the two other nights they weren't interested in a solution at all or didn't reply.
I think it's pretty unreasonable for a Hostel like that to not give the money back to people that are trying to be senseful about spreading a desease. Now they get the money twice because they will definitely find someone else to use my bed. With this behavior they ask for sick people to come to their hostel because sometimes you don't have that much money to pay twice.
Really bad customer service.

Just stayed at Puri Garden and really enjoyed it. I stayed in a private room which was super cute and well appointed. It was quiet and the WiFi was good. I do believe they should invest in some mattress toppers because the bed was super hard and uncomfortable. It is very expensive for ubud but I think they try to compensate with lots of extras (free yoga, puppy therapy, brekkie etc). Overall I was very happy with my stay and would recommend. Great vibe, clean and the location is perfect.

Probably the best hostel in the area.good food, yoga and fun activities.maybe the shared area is a bit small and to warn you that its still a bit of a party hostel in the middle of busy ubud center so if you're looking to retreat this place isn't it. If you are looking for classical hostel entertainment though the its perfect

Was disappointed to experience age discrimination while trying to check in to Puri Garden. Was told we couldn’t stay there because I was too old and it makes the girls uncomfortable. Just another traveler trying to enjoy my journey until something like this happens. Spent my entire nursing career caring for people only to face something like this. I’m insulted.

A truly spectacular hostel in the center of Ubud. Large beds with air conditioning and big lockers which they provide with a key, great activities and family dinners, nice pool and grounds and the staff is really kind. Breakfast is freshly cooked for you a la carte and the facilities are superb

Had the most amazing stay here while in Ubud. The amenities along make the stay worthwhile and great for value (i.e. Free daily massage, manicure/pedicure, breakfast, morning yoga, afternoon workout classes, even puppy therapy) The place is cleaned to perfection, and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. One of the best stays internationally and Bali. Special shout-out to Jack for his amazing welcome to all guests! Would 100% recommend and look forward to another stay again in the future. Suksuma!

Most expensive hostel in Ubud that looks nice from the outside but is really not worth the price given broken aircons and no wifi

PROS: very attentive staff, clean facilities, relatively social hostel if you don’t mind a younger crowd, nice courtyard, the little freebies like 15 min massages/pedicures (cool but poorly organized) beds with outlets & privacy curtains

CONS: there is really no wifi anywhere.it works about 2% of the time and so slowly when it does.and of course there is poor cell service too.everyone was complaining about it but i don’t think they plan to fix it?

AC didn’t work for 3 nights in my dorm and it was boiling, also have to really press the staff if you want the AC turned on. They finally moved me into another room on the last night at 2 am. I would have done this earlier if I’d known each time they said the AC would be repaired it would not be.no kitchen or even fridge for storing anything, overpriced cafe on site that charges 21% hidden tax on each item and has tinyyy portions of mediocre food

considering that you can find a decent private room in town for the same price as a dorm bed here, i expect better

Puri Garden makes for a lovely stay in Ubud. I'll be here 2.5 weeks in total in a 4-bed female dorm with own bathroom for a slightly higher price and I'm older than the average traveller. For the price, you get a fantastically comfortable almost double-bed (even if it's a bunk), every day - a free morning yoga session, nice breakfast, massage, pedicure; a nice pool, cinema room, bbq and film nights, reasonable happy hour cocktails if that interests you! Very sociable in a nice calm way (rather than over the top party-style!) and it is not pretentious (. I had a slight idea that it might be before my stay).

Everything's kept really clean. The staff are very nice. A minute's walk from The Yoga Barn and generally in a central location. For people travelling on a budget, they've been happy to spend a little more for the luxury feeling here that gives you time to really relax and recouperate whilst having a lovely time. I hope I'll be back!

Arista is amazing, always there to help out, the whole staff is to be honest! This is a 5 star hostel, wish I owned it, can’t say a single negative thing about it. Just stay one night if that’s all you can afford, but make it BBQ buffet night with the FREE band and Balinese dancers. I’LL BE BACK.

Decent restaurant. Good food and sweet staff. However, it was mixed with hotel facilities, so it kinda ruined the restaurant experience.

A beautiful hotel which really caters to the comfort and enjoyment of its visitors. This beautiful hotel is ideally located near the heart of Ubud, just down the road from the Monkey Forest. Puri Garden Hotel is a particularly student and young person friendly hotel with free activities such as morning yoga, massages and mani pedis and weekend bbq nights with live music. The food leaves a bit to be desired but a wonderful experience overall.

Really friendly staff. Rooms are well maintained by housekeeping staff (hairdryers, fans and aircons in great functions, very cleaned facilities). Also beds and lockers are huge enough to organize your stuff and have a great night. Animations organized every other days. Great food from the attached restaurant.

Great place to stay for single travellers no matter what age!
Stayed in a private room - very clean, great size, huge bed, had everything I needed.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Went on a group tour and met some amazing people from the hostel and the sister hostel - Arya.
Would stay here again and would definitely recommend it.
Do take advantage of the free 15 min massages - they are fab and there’s even free manicures and pedicures (I travelled December 2019)

I absolutely loved my time at Puri Garden! The rooms are pretty comfy, there are options for hostel style bunks as well as other accommodations. The shared facilities (pool, garden, restaurant & showers) are all prestige and beautifully kept! The place is intact a real jem. There is Yoga in the mornings, movies and performances in the evenings; which give Puri Hotel a lively and friendly atmosphere. You will inevitably have made friends by the end of your stay:)

Don‘t get the hype about this hostel. It is clean and the stuff is friendly, beds are also really nice. But it is way to crowded for that amount of money. There are homestays in the area, which are even cheaper and look also really nice. Also there are other hostels, which look nicer for the same price just around the corner.

An incredible experience from start to finish. The staff are so welcoming and also very knowlegable about the area. Nothing is too much for these guys. Stayed a few times, so thought I would review as every time has been fantastic. Thank you Jack and the team!

Where do I start? Found bedbugs in my bed when I got back to my dorm at around 11pm. Went to the reception to inform them. They told me the place was fully booked so essentially I had to move to a hostel across the road. I later found out that they were in fact, not fully booked. They had double rooms empty and available, they just didn’t want to move me. I think this is disgusting considering I had to move hostels very late at night. Came back in the morning for the breakfast which was TERRIBLE, but at least it was free. Super pretentious vibe. What I mean by this was it was very ‘cliquey’ and reminded me of high school. Full of these ‘instagrammy’ type people. May suit some people I guess. There are many, many better hostels near by for much cheaper. Overall, I would avoid.

Great hostel very social. Stayed in a mixed dorm In a top bunk. The bed were very large and comfy. All fitted with curtains it was very easy to get some privacy, so much so I almost forgot I was in a dorm.

What a beautiful youth hostel. The location is wonderful (close to Yoga Barn!), the rooms are spacious with incredibly comfortable beds, the pool is great and the staff very helpful.

They have different daily activities which are great (puppy therapy? Yes!), and the free daily massage is absolutely amazing.

Would definitely stay here again!

The hostel is picture pretty and very clean. I didn't think it was worth the hefty price tag because it falls short on some other things.

There are plenty of ameninites included in the price but they have stipulations. There's morning yoga but it's often full or they run out of mats. You get a free 15 minute massage but only if it's not raining and only within a small time window in the middle of the day.

The evening staff was very friendly and professional, the morning staff was less so. Maybe the weather just put everyone in a sour mood.

The food is decent but expensive, even for Ubud. Breakfast is included. My order got mixed up so I didn't actually get to eat but from what I heard it tastes alright.

After staying in over 25 different hostels whilst travelling across Asia, this is comfortably one of the best I've stayed in, giving you real value for money given what you get. Free 15 minute massages everyday from 1300, Puppy Therapy Tuesday/Thursday's, all-you-can-eat barbecue's with traditional Balinese dancers and a live band. The rooms are kept clean, the beds are comfy & lockers are available in each room. The staff are also very attentive and happy to chat with you. Perfect for solo travellers as there's plenty of activities to get people chatting together.

This is definitely the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at, wish I could’ve spend more time there. The place is so pretty, the beds are amazing and everything is so clean. And breakfast was really good. The staff is so kind and makes you feel right at home, and the vibe; met some great people there!
If I’m ever in Ubud again I’ll stay here.

Love love loved! This place should be rebranded as a retreat because its wayyy too nice to be a hotel or hostel. Free daily yoga, massages, awesome a la carte brekky. Nights with beer pong and cultural performances, afternoons with rescue dogs to cuddle. Bunk beds that are doubles! Excellent staff. The garden grounds are stunning. Will return for sure.
