RaptureSurfCamp is great! I really enjoyed my 2 week stay. The Green Bowl Camp is very quiet and you have a beautiful view of the sea from the pool. The room for 6 was nicely but practically furnished. The staff is super nice and they always try to make all your wishes possible! The surf instructors are also very nice and the division into levels (also for surf guiding) went well, so that everyone could be supported according to their level of ability.

Had a very enjoyable experience with Rapture. Instructors are very fun and enthusiastic. Facilities are beautiful, clean, and very well done. Very fun interacting with other guests. Would definitely come back!

Rapture never fails to deliver a great time! Just finished up a week with the legends in Greenbowl and will certainly be back again. If you’re looking to chill out for a week and not have to think about anything, the camp look after everything for you from dusk to dawn! The camp is super comfortable and spacious and you never feel on top of anyone. All the staff are friendly and helpful and love to get to know the guests. The camp run a weekly schedule that has evening activities to suit everyone so never a full moment! Leaving with many great memories and friends.

Imagine this: Warm water, palm trees, friendly local surf guides bringing you to empty line-ups… This is Rapture SurfCamp at Cliff, Bali. Highly recommended. Will be back for sure

Beautiful facilities, they have an incredible pool, billiards, ping pong, rest areas…. Plus the staff make you feel at home, you feel those surf vibes at all times and you have a blast surfing! The instructors are very nice adorable dogs and last but not least the food, both breakfast and dinner, which is included, very delicious! We would return without hesitation, thank you Rapture, unforgettable experience

Best week ever at the Green Bowl surf camp! Amazing instructors took us to the best spots everyday and gave surfing tips even if you didn’t book a lesson. Yoga, food, rooms, everything was awesome and super relaxing vibe. Will be back 10/10. Thanks guys!

Stayed at the rapture cliff camp in total for 11 days and had a wonderful time there. Especially the whole Rapture Crew, the surf instructor and the beautiful location made our trip so perfect. Would definitely recommend this camp and come back again.

The surfing was good, but the camp feels overpriced and they really squeeze the money out of tourists because there is no competition around.

Everything is subjected to 11% government tax and 6% service tax, which feels strange for board rental and surf lessons where there is no “service”.

Board rental is very expensive and costs 150K + tax. Everywhere else you can rent a board for max 100K per day.

The cleanliness and maintenance is mediocre. In the dorm you need to wait for 5 minutes for hot water and when it comes it is garden hose style not really a shower. (See picture).

Food portions are small but you can order more. For some reason there is no dinner included on weekends so you need to pay extra for the dinner that they arrange (pizza is 120K + tax and there is also barbecue).

Surf lessons are 600K + tax. Sometimes there are too many people per instructor (3+) and then it is hardly worth the price as you end up catching waves on your own anyways.

Staff is good and very helpful, it is more the management that sets all the high and hidden (additional) costs.

Really great way to start our Bali trip. The lessons were super helpful for beginners, and the staff were really friendly and fun. The accommodation is beautiful just a bit far away from anything else. Overall, it was a valuable experience!

We had an amazing stay and surf at Rapture Surf Camp Green Bowl! Not only the room with our private shower outside was really good, but also the whole camp was very well designed. There are nice spots to chill, work or hang out with others. The members of the crew inform you via whats app group about surfing, yoga and other stuff, which we found convenient. Further, all the credits to our surf instructure Nick; he was able to let us ride our first waves here:)

Amazing stay at Rapture Cliff!

- Camp: the double room I had (Funboard) is great, large and bright. The pool is beautiful and I liked the environment (lost in the jungle!). The other camp, Padang-Padang, is better if you want to be closer to some bars & restaurants.
- Food: amazing! Very generous breakfast and dinner. Lunch options more limited, I recommend to eat at the beach if possible after surfing
- Surf: as a beginner, it was great. The instructors took us to a perfect beach to learn, with very small waves and no rocks. Feedback quality depends on the instructor (I highly recommend Nick, Bobby, Mario, Juni but maybe not Faris). Great theory before the practice, including a briefing on security which I appreciated. The video analysis was super interesting to identify our improvement potential!
- Staff: very helpful and accommodating; for any payment-related point, you have to reach out to the headquarters in Portugal, but they are also very responsive and helpful.
- Other: on-site massages were amazing (tailored to the soared muscles after surfing) and I also liked the yoga classes.

Of course there are some points that could be improved (e.g. Preparing the boards the evening before to gain speed in the mornings,) but nothing major. All in all I highly recommend Rapture and will come back for sure!

3 stars because:

1) food quantity is ridiculous, ending each dinner very hungry

2) 80% of the food options in the menu are constantly run out

3) they let you pay for each water refill

4) airport pickup arrived 45 mins late after we were already out of the airport

5) 17% taxes on top of each item in the menu.why exactly 17% where on other parts of Bali there are no taxes at all or lower? For transparency and making it easier for guests, just put the total amount in the menu

6) they do not pay sufficient attention to first-time surfers as my sister had her first day with huge waves and intermediate surfers

Overpriced place:

Everything you buy or rent is subjected to 17% taxes. (But they said to you at the end)

The cheapest beer is 45k (without taxes) but most of the time it's sold out, then you pay 85k. (So more or less 100k for the beer with taxes)

You have to pay for WATER.

Bringing food is forbidden but the food's portions proposed by the kitchen are very small (nothing more than an appetizer) and very expensive.

Taxi service is 50k (without taxes) per person (if you call a grab it would've been 40k and you can share)

And because everything is so far you end up eating there and take their beers.
Clever but it made the experience very bitter.

For the surf:
For level 1 and beginner i think it's good but if you go to level 2 don't expect too much. Most teachers (in level 2) don't take care of you (unless you're a pretty girl) and some take a lot of waves while you just wait for them to help you.
Two session a day is a lie, it never happened.
Minus that they are super nice.

The surfboard they proposed are quite bad, you should take insurance. (And of course pay for that)

After the staff is nice and helpful and the room are nice.

I have recently stayed at rapture Bali cliff (my second time at the camp). I had such a great time after 2 years of covid.

The surf instructors where fab and my surfing has come on heaps. I got to surf most of the spots available! The manager paul was super helpful and couldn’t do enough to make sure my stay was enjoyable!

The food was also good as always. One downside was a miserable couple that tried fo complain about everything even the surf and dampen the groups mood - clearly she couldn’t surf and I would suggest she has lessons and cracks a smile haha.

Note to future guests the spirit is always high at the camp but if you plan to be miserable go some place else!

Pro
- The facilities are spacious and nicely designed.
- Staff is friendly and willing to help.
- Beds are good.
- Dinner is decent and plenty.
- Surf guidings are good and partly justify the relatively high price, even though boards have to be rented, if you don‘t bring your own.
- The place does not accomodate many people. I do not regard this as a bad thing as i chose to stay there to relax, but do not expect the atmosphere of a vibrant hostel.

Con
- For casual backpackers this place is quite expensive, yet the importance of this argument obviously depends on your personal budget.
- The included breakfast is ok, though was limited in terms of servings during my stay.
- Be aware that the place is relatively remote. There are practically no cafés or restaurants around.
- The facility includes a restaurant where, besides breakfast and dinner, lunch is served as well. Note that portions are not enormous (by my standards) and prices are not cheap, especially for any beverages. Beer prices vary from 45-85 INR.
- Scooters may be rented, however don’t seem to be very well maintained.
- The insurance costs of 100 INR per day for surfboard-rental seems too high to me. Especially when you consider the cost of rental (150 INR) and the generally relatively low price of potential repair works.
- For the first time in my life, i stayed in an accomodation where food and drinks from outside were not allowed.
- Be aware that any of the aforementioned prices and anything consumed at that place is subject to an additional 17 % tax.
- All in all, the contrast between one of the many family run hostels in south east asia and this place couldn‘t be much bigger. This place is run professionally, which is not a bad thing per se. Although, fellow travellers and myself felt to be seen more as cashcows instead of guests. Even though i respect the owners interest to run a profitable business, i personally found it hard to consider this place particularly likeable.

I stayed at the surfcamp 7 days, and it was definitely worth it. For someone like me with straight up 0 experience in surfing, it was actually quite easy to learn, because the surfing instructors are very knowledgeable and available to help you, you have 2 surf lessons per day and you stay in the water quite a long time. The waves were great and you are able to catch the so called Green waves with little or no foam. The only con during my stay was the behavior of another guest who was having a very maladaptive behavior towards staff and other guests, but she stayed very little and thankfully left and everything went back to normal. Nevertheless, the food was quite good and you have plenty of time to leave tp go explore the area and partake in other activities. It was an awesome experience and well worth the price, honestly if you have any doubts just email them or give them a call and you will be reassured.

Epic week-long stay at Rapture Cliff. We were a group of 4 and surfed level 3 surf every day. Guiding was great, we had some really nice waves at a range of different locations. Aussie Matt was our main guide and a was an absolute legend. Accommodation is new and really well done, stayed in a fin room then transferred to the dorms, both rooms very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were included and had a good mix of Balinese and western options.

We spent 2 weeks at this amazing resort. The Charmes of Anna, Meike, Jean, Emma, Sahra, Maxi and all others of the team made the stay a real pleasure and expectations were met and over achieved.the cliff camp is modern and super clean and probably one of the best locations to stay at with shortest distances to all famous and so famous surf spots in the south of Bali.we loved it and had a great time.difficult to imagine, that a few days back we were in paradise and now in total shut down Corona Madness.stay safe and healthy everyone.thanks again to everyone and all the other campers, that made the stay an interesting and fun one!

The camp is awesome. There is a huge amount of common area with pool a breakout. I went with the level 3 crew. Our guide Matt took us to some great spots and we scored solid waves every day.

Yewww! If you want to improve your surfing this is the place to go! I was at the camp for only a week, but the learning curve was very steep! We went surfing twice a day and thanks to our surfguide Matt, we visited surfbreaks that weren't overcrowded so we had plenty of opportunities to catch waves.

Thanks to Matt's tips I learned how to catch bigger waves and improved my bottom and top turns. When I'm going to surf the Bukit again, I'm definitely coming back to this camp! See you next year!

Perfect place to surf the bukit. I enjoyed my stay very much, it's the full service packapge. You get breakfast a la carte as much as you want, then they bring you to the best surf spot available, you chill at the amazing place and the pictures don't lie and in the end you're being served dinner with your fellow surfers. Special thanks to our surf guide Mat who made an excellent job with selecting the right spots for the conditions, even made a boat trip to Geger Right possible in conditions we had to wait a whole week for ;)

This place is AMAZING. Way better than the photos, I know right, hard to believe, but it is really nice.
All the staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much for them.
I have fairly restricted dietary requirements, and they were always able to cater for me with the included breakfasts and dinners. This place feels like a home away from home:)
I have been back twice now, and fully intend to come back again.
This last time, in November, I took the encouragement and advice of the level 3 surf guide, Matt McGregor, and stepped up to level 3. I must admit, I was quite nervous, but Matt's cool, calm demeanor really helped me to step up. He is a great guide, and the way in which he instills confidence in his "students" really helps to boost your surfing. He is also really helpful out on the water, with giving hints and advice throughout the surf session. I managed to score some INSANE waves while I was there, and I put a lot of it down to the confidence that I gained under Matt's guidance.

I read about Rapture Surfcamp Bali on the Hippie In Heels’ blog and figured it could be a great opportunity for me and my SO to improve our surfing skills while traveling in Bali.

* Surfing *
Surfing classes start at different times every morning. The start time for the next morning is announced the night before on a dry erase board. Sometimes there are day trips when you leave for the entire day and sometimes there are 2 trips per day — morning session and afternoon session. They give you a surfboard, a leash and a rash guard if you need it.
We visited in late September 2019 and our instructors were 20-21-23 yo local Indonesian boys who barely spoke English. This was somewhat annoying since “instructing” also requires verbal communication which was barely possible.

* Room *
We had a great Bossman suite with a panoramic view of the ocean. The room service however did not really mop the floor or any flat surfaces so we had dust everywhere. I didn’t care that much tbh.

* Food *
They feed you with free breakfast everyday and free dinners Mon-Thurs. Lunch is extra $$. Fri, Sat and Sun dinners are extra as well, but they have something fun going on those days — pizza night, BBQ, etc.

* Staff *
Great and super friendly people. Meike who is the operations manager of the place was super helpful and even texted me when they found our stuff left on the balcony rack to return it to us after we left. Indie who is a very gifted yoga instructor is also a pleasure to interact with.

*** Few tips: ***
— Bring your own rash guard. The ones that they have available for use are yuckie.
— If you’re fair like me, bring a pair of rash guard tights. The back of your legs can burn brutally from laying on the board for several hours and even a high SPF sunscreen won’t help.
— Bring your own shower products. It’s not a hotel so they won’t give you shower gel/shampoo/etc. Also I didn’t see a hairdryer but I didn’t need it as much either.
— Definitely try out yoga classes with Indie.
— If you’re down for a massage I highly recommend skipping one from a gentleman that also does some maintenance for them and ask for a female masseuse, I believe her name is Krishma.
— Definitely participate in all social activities like watching the sunset, pizza nights, barbecue night. Those are the highlights of our stay and were actually very fun.

Had the pleasure of staying here for just over a week. Awesome place with super friendly staff. Jack, my surf guide, made the whole trip 10x better. Nothing is stressful, or too fancy here. Just good vibes, nice facilities and a stunning backdrop for a holiday. (For breakfast, get the banana pancakes)

Das Camp padang und cliff sind super gepflegt. Preisleistung stimmen hier überein. Ich bin Veganerin und insbesondere Sunny hat immer perfekt aufgepasst, dass ich keine tierischen Produkte im Essen habe. Allerdings hätte ich mir eine Milchalternative gewünscht, die musste ich im padang camp selbst organisieren. Im cliff Camp wurde auch hier für mich gesorgt. Es gibt zwei surfsessions und eine kostenlose yogastunde am Tag. Ich kann beide camps nur empfehlen

Both the Padang Padang and Cliff locations are so beautiful! Padang is walking distance to beautiful coffee shops and cliff is situated on a beautiful cliff top with an ace pool! Surf instructors are so fun and really help you to stand up on the surf boards. You have the option to get so much surfing in and yoga is offered every day!

If you're interested in surfing you gotta check this place out. Suitable for all levels. As a beginner I paid for lessons. The instructor sticks with you and another person giving you tips on your form. If you are advanced choose the guiding option. You can flag the instructors if you need assistance. Breakie, dinner & free wifi included. Lunch at your own cost. Awesome resort in an isolated location. You can get around if you hire a scooter. Was really good to meet like minded people. Two surfing lessons offered per day. Attending is optional & you can just chill if you want.

Ich war innerhalb von 2 Monaten 2 Mal im Surfcamp und habe jede Minute genoßen. Die Zimmer, egal ob Dorm oder Privatzimmer, sind super sauber und sehr modern. Das Personal ist immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man wird direkt als ein Teil der Rapturefamilie aufgenommen. Auch die Surflehrer sind super locker und nett und immer bemüht das Bestmögliche aus dir raus zu holen. Ich kann nur jedem das Camp empfehlen und freue mich schon auf das nächste Mal!

I just came back from 5 days staying at Rapture Cliff in Bali, and wanted to thank the crew for an amazing experience. The camp if very luxurious and has a great vibe. It shouldn’t really be called a camp, more like luxurious mega villa. There are plenty of hang out areas to lounge and relax. Easy to find space to yourself or hang out with others. The surf guiding was great. I’m a beginner surfer and they took us to places that were appropriate. Took a day trip into Kuta for some shopping. All up it was a great experience and I’ll definitely stay with Rapture again. Thanks.

Another great trip to Bali Cliff. Always smiling happy staff great food fun waves and great surf lessons. Second times even better than the first as I knew a lot of the surf guides and staff. Meike and her team always Willing to help and treat you as part of the camp welcoming and helpful. Loved the beach bonfire night, BBQ night, pizza night and trivia night. We saw a lot of Bali best beaches and the guides always smiling and fun. Surfing is new to me and it's alot of fun. Great food, great people and beautiful rooms makes the camp what it is great. I've noticed how this camp stands out with a better service better equipment and happier staff I've seen other camps around the area and rapture stands out. Thank you for making my holidays great.

This camp is amazing! The location is breath taking. Infinity pool and rooftop - both with ocean view. A lot of space to enjoy some quiet time after surf.
The surf: never had so much fun in the water. Tried surfing once in south France but now I finally know what surfing means:) the instructors made me feel safe and always made me smile. Thanks boys!
Last but not least the food: always good and a nice mix between local and western food - I loved it and always got my hungry belly filled:)

It was the second time that I stayed at Rapture Bali Cliff. And again I had an amazing time! Last year I even extended my stay for one more week because I really enjoyed the time at Rapture. The camp is so beautiful and the rooms are all clean! I stayed in the dorm and also in one of the private rooms. I liked both! The camp is nice for couples but also for people who travel alone.
The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The food was also amazing. I like that there's local food and western food!
Every friday there's a bonfire at the beach with local food. That was one of my highlights!
Now to the most important part: the surfing. It was brilliant! I had so much fun in the water and I definitely improved my surfing skills. I had a few lessons before but I never really improved that much. But with the help of the surf instructors at Rapture I finally catched my own waves.
I definitely recommend Rapture and I'm coming back for sure!:)
