Rapture Surfcamp Padang Bali

Absolutely fantastic surf camp with the nicest people! Everyone who worked at the camp was so nice and the surf instructors were so skilled! Lovely place!

I met so many nice people, feels like family after a couple of hours already. I approved my surfing thanks my great instructor. Going to be back soon:)

Amazing value for money, if you ever want to learn how to surf this is the place to be. The camp is filled with solo travellers with engaging backstories. You easily make friends and everything is very cheap.

Beautiful place and most importantly very kind people! As everyone shares at least one meal together (which are delicious by the way) it feels like a family and you bond automatically with the others staying there and the surf instructors.

I had a great experience while surfing there. As a beginner it might be scary but the instructors are always looking after you and will help you anytime.

I’m leaving with a lot of great memories and hopefully I’ll see you soon again!

Great stay at the raptur camp. The room was spacious, the camp atmosphere is very family-friendly, we share good meals with the whole team carefully prepared by the camp cook. Otherwise the coaching of Heki and Mode (the coaches) was very professional. They take great care of everyone and allowed me to progress quickly in order to integrate the basics of surfing as quickly as possible.

I had a fantastic stay at the camp, the camp itself is a little gem in busy Uluwatu. Beautiful bungalows, pool and social areas. Enjoyed the surf guiding a lot as the bring you to way less crowded spots but I feel sometimes better waves then the very well known ones! They have photographers/videographers as well which is great to improve your surfing. Booking my next stay already ;)

I've stayed at rapture in padang padang with my sisters for 2 weeks, and it was one of the best experiences ever. The facilities are very nice and clean, staff was always friendly and helpful, the food is also really good! They have multiple instructors for the surfing, who are all very nice and try their best to make you catch every wave. Especially our first few lessions with Mr. Madde have been extremely helpful.
After surfing, the camp always organises activities like barbecue, bonfires or parties, but since they are always outside of the camp, it is still very peaceful if you'd rather be on your own sometimes.
We had a really good time and will be coming back for sure!

I stayed at the camp for about 5 days in February The worst surfing camp I've been in Bali for two months. The instructors leave me behind and spend a lot of time surfing themselves. Even the video review videos have more instructors than the campers, and the accommodation and public facilities are in very poor condition. All but the restaurants were the worst Before coming to this camp, I came here after spending time at Kima surf camp and Korean surf camp, but I went back to Korean camp without extension. If you think about staying here, I recommend going to Kima surf camp.please…

Thoroughly enjoyed my one week stay at Rapture. The facilities were incredible and and staff were really helpful. Shout out to Tom for being a great social host and making the stay extra special. Would go back again and would recommend to anyone thinking about it!

Highly recommend staying at this surfcamp. All of the employees are friendly and knowledgeable. No pressure environment. The food is excellent, they can adjust to diet restrictions. Breakfast; highly recommend the banana pancakes. Ask Lots of questions before you come and during your stay; what to bring with you, what to wear surfing, what type of sun protection to use, what to bring for the day trips and not to being. Guests and staff alike are all very helpful. There is quite a bit of driving involved each day, so if you get motion sickness easily bring medicine for it. I have loved my time here and I will definitely be back.

Very nice surfcamp which I would definately recommend to everyone. The staff are super friendly and really go out of their way to make sure that everyone has an amazing time. Also the rooms, pool and common areas are beatiful and clean.

Very nice, clean and relaxing place. Perfect mix to learn surfing and socialize with others in a chilled way. I took 6 surf lessons to refine the basic skills and thanks to Pino and All, I improved a lot!
I will for sure come back to visit the Rapture family in Bali or somewhere else:)

Property is very spacious and looks nice. Excellent location although it’s a bit noisy in the evening and early morning as it’s situated close to a main road. Food is basic and unfortunately no WiFi in the room (only in the common area). You could probably get better value for money, but I enjoyed my stay here.

Amazing place to connect with people from planet, the surf guides are chill but lack of surfing footage for analysis, especially in level 3.

Returning to Padang Rapture camp after 6 years - loved the atmosphere which stayed the same. My favorite balinese cook is still working there - Sunny, I love her food and her massage!
Ben (the manager), Elisa, Jamie, Charles, and all the local surf guides (Made, Bobi, PINO - he was super helpful with getting my surfboard repaired also:) and all the rest of the team! Great vibes will def come back!

You can not lock your room, but nothing was stolen because the camp has security.

We stayed 4 nights with Rapture and the folks there were nothing short of amazing. The camp was organised and the next day's schedules were set the day before so you knew exactly where you were going. The instructors are attentive and super supportive, and I'm deadly afraid of chasing bigger waves, they were so encouraging that I managed to get a few bigger rides in:) The room was clean and the breakfasts super hearty - shoutout to the kitchen crew who made sure we were fed and watered before our early surf sessions! Overall, great vibes, already looking to come back!

We had a great stay at the camp. Staff was really cool and helpful. The camp it self and the activities were really nice and well organized. There’s an airport pickup, great spots for beginners and intermediates, food, yoga… I’ll definitely come back here.
There was no lock at the dorm room (just two safety boxes) but it’s totally fine to just leave your stuff in your room. It’s safe
By the way If you find yourself doing a lesson with Made, you’ve hit a jackpot because he is indeed a legend!

The camp just got remodeled and looks beautiful. There are tons of surf boards to choose from with clearly announced start times for sessions.

The atmosphere is warm and chill. There’s yoga every day usually around sunset and then dinner soon after.

Definitely would recommend for any traveler:)

Ive been coming to Rapture for years, recently it has been renovated and it feels like a brand new place. Staff are super accomodating and there is a relaxed friendly vibe about the place. You meet different people from all walks of life all there to do the same thing, surfing! I always recommend this place If you’re travelling solo or with friends and want to surf, meet nice people, and be in an chilled environment.

Great facilities (especially pool), good rooms, friendly staff, located on the Bukit home to some of the world's best surf breaks. The camp is a bit of an oasis in an isolated spot near Green Ball beach, not much around so you can't walk out for street food etc, but food a the camp is good. The breaks are amazing, although maybe it isn't the best location for beginners as there are limited 'easy' spots around. But if you can surf a bit and want to lift your level and return to a bit of luxury, it's for you.

I have been at Rapture Cliff Bali and since the management is the same I recommend taking a look at the most recent experience there before you think of booking this one for your surf holiday, you’ll likely be disappointed otherwise.

I do not recommend this place. I stayed there during in a long term basis (weekly. One week) and well the place was not so clean first at all (my room), then there are rules for everything they spam you with WhatsApp msg meanwhile the manager cooks and eat with his gf in the shared kitchen no leaving any room for others to use it, music included. Like is a shared spot come on! Is like they do what they want and they treat you like a child in a summer camp when at this time the camp was not working as a camp, i was not told this was rapture the surf camp or i wouldn't have stayed. Of course they gave me the directions using the place on the front!? ! Weird no? ! Not recommend this place at all. Way to expensive for what it was (toilet was feral)

I loved the experience in 2015, must have changed a lot since then, friendly people, nice rooms. A must stay place!

In November and December I stayed for 4 weeks at that camp. It is clean, very friendly and helpful staff and you can reach quality surfspots by scooter within 20 minutes. They have a great surfguide in for advanced surfers (Matt) who really knows what he is doing and always chooses good spots to go to. I can defenitely recommend this place if you want to have a good time in Bali

I'm an intermediate level surfer and don't like paddling out without knowledge of the spot. I enjoyed how the guides tell you where to go out and where to sit. They even surf with you. If you are a beginner they will give you full on lessons and push you into waves. If you are more advanced it's nice just to be driven to the spot and have someone to surf with. Everyone was super nice and happy to be there. It's a surf camp, not a party camp. You will be waking up early to surf, have a break and lunch, and another afternoon surf session. People are usually in bed fairly early to prepare for the day ahead, but some people will be going out to the bars as well if you're into that. The camp has a really cool laid back vibe. The staff is super friendly. The food is delicious (and included). They have scooters for rent (for cheap). The property is really nice and comfortable. We stayed in the surf shed and it was bigger and nicer than we needed. It had an outdoor shower and bathroom that was really nice. If we go back to Bali we will stay here again, just for longer next time! We went to the Cliff camp for a party one night, that was also really cool. Highly recommend both! Oh and don't freak out with the payment. I thought it was super sketchy doing the transfer, but this place is legit. I think I actually ended up using paypal cause my bank was being a pain with the transfer.

Great place, with friendly and helpful staff. The surfing instructora were extremely helpful and took the time to help me improve. The staff at the camp, besides being extremely friendly, also helped me when I lost my debit card. They really go the extra mile to make sure you have a great time. Would definitely visit again! I've stayed at the Padang Surfcamp for 5 nights and really had a great time! Location was beautiful and close to many shops, beautiful beaches and warungs, Pablo and the staff were friendly and helpful for everything I needed. Food in the camp was amazing! Surfing was great, Harry Bobby Sa and the other instructors are so good they managed to get me standing up and riding on my first wave ever:) and daily selection of the spots was perfect as well, we always had fun and felt pretty safe! I've made so many new friends in the camp, it really was a great experience! Super recommended! I will be back asap! Thank you for everything guys see you soon!

What a great surfing school! Super friendly stuff, amazing food and fantastic people staying there. We all became like a family. We surf together, do yoga together, bbq and party. Can’t wait to be back.

Best way to learn to surf in a fun atmosphere.
A surf camp for people that want to surf and learn. Daily wave selection was great, Amazing surf instructors and a good bunch of people.
Beginner, intermediate and advanced groups surf two sessions daily sometime 3 if pumping waves. No matter your level you’ll improve you’ll make new friends and enjoy the accommodation.

Everything from start to finish was amazing, the staff were so friendly and accommodating they couldn’t do enough for me.

The rooms were modern & clean, the facilities were great and the food was really good, especially the breakfasts, great social atmosphere, everyone and everything was amazing. Ill be back very soon.

I thought the people were nice but there was a few problems I had. I went out to surf one day and the instructor clearly didn’t have enough experience teaching and instructed me to paddle into a wave that was already braking. I trusted him to keep me safe but I was thrown into the reef and was hurt really badly. I found the instructors did not help my surf skills at all. I had stayed at a surf camp in Canggu and the instructors were amazing, so I had high expectations. Also, I thought this would be a cheaper surf camp but they add all the things in at the end. So when you book you think it’s cheaper but I ended up paying the same amount as the surf camp in Canggu, with not as good food or teachers. Also, if you don’t finish your food they will make you finish everything on your plate before leaving. To me, with paying them for their food this makes no sense. Even if the meal is included in the stay we still pay for it and if we don’t want to finish it that should be our choice. This was a huge turn off.

Learning to surf in Bali has always been a big bucket list item. It’s one thing to visit Canggu and a whole other thing to surf in Uluwatu. I started on a foam board and with the help of the instructors transitioned to a 7” hardboard by the end of my week there!

Along with great surfing the camp life is epic. The meals each day are incredible, the people I met there were wonderful and the yoga was a great way to wind down at the end of a long day.

The Padang location is a short walk to many local shops so it’s easy to get a feel for the location as well.

Just what i needed.

Great short trip to Bali just a nice way to relax and chill and learn to surf. Had great time learning with the local boys harry and find a very safe and friendly. The food was spectacular and the camp vibes were also which made this camp so welcoming.

Loved my stay @rapturesurfcamps Bali Padang! From breakfast to surfboards, car rides, surf theorie, video analysis, photographer, yoga, BBQ and Pizza night to everyday-dinner is everything organised. You literally only have to show up and they take care of the rest.

Perfect place for staying, surfing, chilling. Roberto the manager is super pro, working with a great team, preparing amazing local dishes in a nice Balinese environment. The surf organisation is also well managed and consistent. Definitely recommend the camp to stay for a couple of days or more.

I’ve been coming to Bali for the last 10 years for surf trips, staying all over the island, and I wanted to share my experience staying with Rapture Surf Camps. The idea of it being all inclusive really made our trip fulfilling. The accommodations, amazing breakfast and dinner, daily surf trips to epic spots for all levels, daily yoga, massages by request, mopeds to rent, excellent Wifi, and a plethora of all-level surfboards to rent via AWAYCO was insane! We literally arrived with a backpack and they took care of everything else… Our Bungalow was so comfortable with two big beds, an outdoor shower and tub, a TV with about 100 movies to choose from (not that we ever turned it on but it was there) and daily room cleaning. The thing I liked most about Rapture was how much it feels like home. The group meals and outings were so much fun and it felt like we had all been friends forever! I will certainly return to Rapture Surf Camps!

I would not recommend this surfcamp, at least for the day lesson. They were understaffed for our session, having 1 teacher for 3 students - not really personalized as it should be for the 40€ I paid. During the first hour and a half, the teacher was with me for a handful of minutes only 3 times, and although he was very nice and friendly, the coaching was not as good because the English was hard to understand. The sea currents were fairly strong and the beach they took us was not sand, but coral, which made it hard on the feet. There was a brief intro about the conditions of the tide at the beginning, but besides that, very minimal instruction.

Me and my friend took a one day lesson at Rapture surf camp Uluwatu. First we were said that the lesson cost 40 euro, but when we wanted to pay in local currency their exchange rate made it up to 62 euro. Don’t even try to offer dollars, then you’ll have to use their rate to change to local currency and then to euro. In one word you are going to be screwed.
The place is run by Europeans, but instructor barely 20 years old or even less local boys. So the organization of trips is slow and unprofessional. We had to wait all the time and everywhere. We were complete beginners, and first day the waves were quite big, but instructors didn’t really care, we paid the money and they took us to the ocean anyway. Additional disadvantage we had to carry big boards up and down the big hills, which for the girls is quite difficult, no one was there to help. So the time we reached water we were already tired. The lesson consisted of two parts - morning and afternoon. In the afternoon we went to the dreamland beach. The waves was so big even some instructors didn’t go surfing, of course no one returned money back. Overall very disappointing experience. And we had an opportunity to compare with other school, where we spent a great five days. We weren’t forced to ride if conditions are not good, pick up and drop of was arranged, amazing professional instructors, we managed to switch to hard boards in five days and caught every wave, offered water afterwards, and all this in semi private class for half of the price raptures is offering. So I wouldn’t suggest raptures unless you want to waste your time and money. Very unprofessional instructors and organization of all!

Great surf camp for different skill levels. The camp is simply beautiful and close to various awesome surf breaks. The management and employees at the camp are fantastic and very helpful. Fresh and great food for breakfast and dinner. At rapture, you can meet people from all walks of life and some coolest people you will ever meet. Everyone is so friendly at the camp that you can basically spark up a conversation with anyone. I was travelling on my own but never felt alone as there were always great people around or things to do. I’ve met some people at the camp and still keep in touch with to this day. Highly recommend Rapture if you want to go surfing at some of the best spots in Bali as Rapture provides a very home away from home experience. Could not have been happier with my experience at Rapture:)

The staff are amazing people. We had a great time learning to surf with Sah and Aiden. Moreover, the cooks were always friendly as were the message therapists.

The scheduling was a little erratic. Guests are asked to sign up for surfing the day before, which works most of the time. But if the surf session goes over the scheduled time, you may miss yoga or message, etc. For the most part, if you're here to surf, it doesn't matter. But one day I signed up for the afternoon session only and it was cancelled, so I didn't get to surf at all.

Guides are divided into 'beginner' and 'intermediate' groups. I was in the beginning groups, and they did a good job selecting beaches with moderate swell, sandy bottom, and manageable chop. As for the intermediate group, I think there is a pretty large step up in difficulty. For those looking for a challenge, this is your spot.

My impression was the time slots are determined by the availability of the vans, not by the actual swell and currents. This is because the intermediate group would leave as soon as the beginner group returned, or vice versa. This is unfortunate if your group is divided between the two sessions, because you won't see each other until evening.

Prices are a little high on the camp. I would recommend NOT pre-booking any extras, like insurance, surf lessons, etc. This is because people tend to surf less than they plan on-it is hard surfing! The discount you get from booking in advance is negated if you leave only one day of surfing unused. Also, you should only do the lesson when there are only one or two other people, per guide. If you take a lesson with 8 other people, you're not really getting any more attention than just surfing on your own.

Overall it was a good experience. There were some organization issues, which I mentioned. But for the most part, the guides and staff made our stay quite enjoyable.
