Quite appalled with the 75 mins or so class I had with Vivienne to be honest. I am a yoga teacher back home myself and these are what I have observed:

1) It was a Power Flow class.
There were 3 people who left during the class which says a lot about instructor not reading the room and will judge you for picking the wrong class and wanted to leave. Most of the people that comes in they are tourists there was a pair of sisters that kept talking to each other and it was very distracting so Vivienne did mention many times not to talk during class.

2) Instructions are clear on some but it was a lot of mumbling about how yoga should be like and how she teaches it etc, the whole time I can feel the condescending tone referring to people who wants to rest a little inbetween as they “chickened out”.

3) If the class is posted as 75 mins, it would be ideal to stick it to it rather than telling everyone at the start its 90 mins.
I felt rude leaving early as people have things to do even on holiday.

4) I get that it’s a strong class and literally no rest inbetween but what happened to yoga being compassionate and mindful? As teachers the language we use is so so important and again each to own can make an impact positive or not on how yoga is spread to people that comes in to your class.

The food looks good visually, but the taste is rather semi, little to no seasoning.
The price is comparable to other restaurants in the vicinity, about 15% above standard.
The service is poor, the waitress doesn't react at all, you have to encourage her to show the guest a Menu and take the order.

I tried my first ever aerial yoga class at Samadi and I absolutely loved it!

I'd been following Samadi since before I came to Bali and it was on my list as one of the studios I wanted to practice in while I was here.

I found out who was teaching the class and connected with Adnya on Instagram to get to know her. She was so chatty and friendly and it was nice when I arrived for the class before I felt like I knew her already.

Adnya was super supportive throughout the class helping us to find alternative ways to get into each posture if we were stuggling. This class was SO much fun, less of a relaxing yoga class and more of a sweaty workout so come along prepared to work hard! I've never laughed so much during a class and I made a new friend whilst hanging upside like a bat.

You only have to look at my face in these photos to see how much fun I was having!

Be sure to book yourself in for an aerial yoga class at Samadi next time you're in Canggu.

Belum pernah nginep disini. Tapi kalau ke Canggu selalu mampir kesini. Saya sendiri bukanlah seorang vegetarian ataupun vegan.

The best yoga studio in Canggu, Bali. It has amazing staff, amazing and best wellness workshops and classes. I had super tasty and delicious food from their plant based restaurant. I am not a vegan or vegetarian, but I always have a great time eating the food here. I also love their warung indo, their Indonesian food never fails me.

Samadi also has an organic supermarket and concept shop. Samadi is one stop for everything you need.

I have had repeatedly poor experiences with Samadhi supermarket. I am regular customer in person but tried to order online. Do not do this since the system is so poor they need ti check manually for orders and you may not get them anytime soon.

When they missed my order for some Chinese herbs when I felt sick, they charged 75k delivery fee for next day, failed to deliver in time a refused to refund the delivery charge.

This is the definition of poor customer service.nthe ownership never engages and seems to be missing in action.

There are a lot of other options now for this type of market and I recommend exploring them if you want good customer service.

I have been coming to practice yoga here almost everyday for over a year and did my yoga teachers training here. Still I get kicked out because I want to use the studio 5 extra minutes at the end of the class to finish my practice. Im not disturbing anyone, I even bring my own yoga mat and props (the ones here are very poor). You should treat clients better. Also, the place urgently needs a renovation.

Lovely yoga+meditation center, great food at the cafe, quaint Sunday market and just great hospitality all around! Marcello and his staff are such lovely hosts! Loved my stay here for a few days.
13 Mei 2023 22:58
Quite disappointing yoga class, too much focus on techniques and “correctness”, while not enough focus on the purpose of yoga, flow, and mindfulness. Most importantly, not enough support is given to everyone, and the teacher only focused on a selective few throughout the class. Also very judgemental and unsupportive if you needed a very short pause during the practice, which is the first time I’ve encountered. Everyone is different and your body is also different everyday! Probably won’t come back given I’ve already had some awesome classes at other studios nearby.
25 April 2023 8:47
Dropping by here to escort my wife for yoga class. While waiting i bought fresh coconut fruit in the store.

It was quite busy yoga class with many student. The next class was busy also. Looks like this is one of best spotfor yoga class.
20 Maret 2023 16:58
Tried their Hot Vinyasa class with my husband and we super enjoyed! It was the right level of heat paired with the pace of the class.

The reception crew, our instructor and all the staff around made us feel so welcomed. Can’t wait to try more classes!

Also plus points that the environment is so relaxing! ️

I have been practicing yoga here for over a year. They have amazing teachers reason why I keep coming back. However, the yoga studios are falling apart. The floor is uneven and literally has holes. Recently they changed all of the yoga mats BUT the new ones are absolutely horrible. The cheapest material - we were better with the old ones! It is really a shame that there is no investment to improve or even maintain the place and equipment: (

Super wasteful ads in the street! I had 3 of these identical ones on my scooter. Saw hundreds of them. Stop this!
23 Oktober 2022 23:55
Such an interesting place and concept. Bio, holistic, healing, healthy lifestyle cafe, store, markets, yoga, meditation spot. Ubud vibes in Canggu indeed. A mix of outdoor & indoor space Gets busy with the parking space, especially with cars, if valet service would possibly be an option to consider.
22 Oktober 2022 4:44
I took Vinyasa flow yoga class with Fey and it was by far the best one, out of all places and classes I’ve tried in Bali. Great place to have a session and food right afterwards
08 Oktober 2022 2:35
I love this place, But it's not about the place, it's about the teacher!
I love Vivienne ️ I moved to Canggu to attend her classes?
I have already practiced in many places, both in Ubud in Seminyak, Canggu but I have not found anyone better than Vivienne, because there is simply no better!
I really love her power yoga and alignment lessons
I see progress both in the body and in the mind?
thank you so much Vivienne, you are incredible, love you and your energy ️

Lovely shala and lovely staff. Working on some issues but once resolved they will get all stars back. Hope they are able to fix the.
12 September 2022 5:44
Quite disappointed
The studio I was in had a rat running along the inside the roof, the mat smelt of sweat, the roof was leaking and it was more expensive than another studio that is way nicer and close by.

The yoga class - gentle vinyasa was well sequenced and paced but the facilities let the place down

I'm just judging the food shop at this point. There is a small selection of vegetables, but nothing special. There is very tasty bread of excellent quality and there is a nice selection of coffee and tea to buy. The black bread is certainly the tastiest thing you can buy in Bali. For this reason alone it is worth making a detour here.
15 April 2022 10:22
Love to be here every Sunday. There'll be a Sunday Market here. Fruits, veggies, cakes, nuts seeds, you name it!
04 Februari 2022 9:35
Good power yoga! Thank you

One thing to improve: would be great to wash the mats with water properly.
14 Desember 2021 8:07
Totally recommend it. Spend more than a mo the here. Teachers are very different, so you get some variety.
30 November 2021 17:28
Love this place so much. Healthy & Positive Vibes (Samadi Yoga), Delicious Vegan Food (Warung Indo & Samadi Restaurant), Fresh Food, Vegan & 0 Plastic (Samadi Supermarket), Relaxation (Samadi SPA) & Cozy Stay-Cation Ricefield View (Samadi Rooms) ️
03 Oktober 2021 4:34
Awsome place for yoga. Many amazing teachers and events. They also have a spa, clothing and food store. Every Sunday they host a market where you can get organic veggies, bread, nut butters, oils etc. 1000 % recommended

I love the vibes. I found so many great wonderful and amazing new things, fall in love with yoga because of samadi. Get to learn more about yoga! (Excited!)

When i come there's two girls (staff) at the supermarket and they really unfriendly and not polite to customer. The place was great but the staff that day is big No.
24 Juni 2021 1:31
I've never tried yoga before, and my first time was perfect! I think i fell in love with yoga now, and start practicing it once a week
Sasya is the teacher when I first came to samadi, and she's so patient with me even though I'm just a beginner. She also pushes everyone to do their best in following the movement, and listens well. The ambiance of the place is very nice and relaxing
18 Juni 2021 22:41
I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are funky and my room had the sound of the running creek little waterfall. Epic rice field views. No mosquitoes. Access to great classes - I remembered my love of hatha yoga that barely anyone teaches on bali and super kind friendly and very helpful staff.
15 Juni 2021 15:39
Please tell your restaurant / cafe staff to MASK UP. We are in a global pandemic and respect Indonesian laws!
19 April 2020 1:11
The review is for Samadi Cafe only - I tried several versions of breakfast there (mostly due to convenience after morning yoga class). All of them were disappointing (not tasty, mediocre food quality), however, I am writing this review because eventually I got stomach bug / food poisoning from the smoothie. This is not the first news of food poisoning from the cafe, so I advise you to be careful and reconsider having food there.

So I wanted to unwind and take a break from my hectic lifestyle, luckily I came across this little gem. Melissa (one of the yoga instructors) really made this trip happen and easy for me, she was so helpful from the very beginning. My flight was leaving bali in the evening but the retreat check out was in the morning, she allowed me to stay extra hours without charge. I was booking all my treatments through her on what's app which saved me trips to the reception. So melissa is definitely an asset to Samadi due to her kind helpful nature. The food at this retreat was delicious and there is a variety. There was a good variety of yoga classes and treatments available. I didn't have to step out the retreat for anything. All the instructors and therapists were friendly and nice. Very genuine people, this made me want to visit Samadi again. Rooms were clean and up to standard. The mosquitos were crazy but it was nice how the retreat had repellent at every station. If you're looking for a quick short sweet getaway I recommend this place.
02 April 2020 5:27
Lovely venue, simple. Went for yoga a couple of times and unfortunately a few of the (expat) teachers seem more about themselves than about the class. Bit pricey, too, considering that.
01 April 2020 19:06
Falafel bowl. Just get it. Best falafel in Canggu. Big portion, crispy falafels. Loaded with greens, beets, quinoa, and other deliciousness.

Overall, great restaurant. Serves local and organic produce. High quality ingredients. Made with love. I've eaten here many times and never have been disappointed.

One stop shop for all things yoga and healthy lifestyle.delicious food, abundant farmer's market, yoga, shopping, ecstatic dance, meditation, and more.

Great vibes all around. I really dig what their doing here.

I had an amazing time at Samadi Bali. What a wonderful place with such incredible yoga classes, delicious food and wonderful staff! I can't wait to book my next stay!
16 Maret 2020 19:45
Lovely place and yoga class as well as the shop but building an open shala above water in Asia is just downright dangerous. Everytime I have been to yoga here, I come back covered in mosquito bites despite using no-bite as well as the mosquito repellent Samadi provides (which is nice but it doesn’t help apparently). Especially the evening yin yoga classes are a huge issues as the mosquitoes become more active at dawn and it‘s nearly impossible to relax if you‘re literally bitten by the minute. Loved the classes but won’t be coming back as it‘s not only inconvenient but truly a danger to your health - a friend of mine got Dengue (probably in Canggu) and it was definitely not a pleasureable experience.

I happened to stay at an apartment right next to Samadi Bali and just took the opportunity to do yoga and mediation classes every day. Awesome place, super sweet staff at the reception, very knowledgeable teachers (thanks Damien, Sasya, Fathan!), lovely meditation classes (thanks Lola and Agathe), and probably the best and biggest falafel bowl in this part of the world. Thanks guys!

I wouldn’t recommend this place neither to people who did yoga before and want to improve nor to the beginners. If you self practice and know what you are doing - it is for you.

My friends gave me the 12 class pass and I’ve been still struggling to finish it for 4 months.
Teachers in Samadi don’t really care if you do poses correctly or not, most of the time they don’t even show what to do preferring to walk around the class and give commands (I do feel very confused & uncomfortable with this). Feels awkward when half of class looks at each other not knowing what to do and teacher advising to look at ur neighbors if sth is unclear instead of showing.
When after class I asked the teacher Melissa if it’s always like that she told me to go to yoga beginners if I want teacher to correct and show poses she means. I have been doing yoga for 3 years and I actually seek for guidance in teachers during the lessons for improving something I already know or helping with sth I still don’t do well.

Teacher Charlotte gives good vinyasas and overall I like her lessons, but as I’ve mentioned - U need to know what U are doing yourself and not to expect to be corrected.

They have added music to lessons which is a very nice touch!

Payment: on the site if u choose to pay with pay pal u should pay attention to the price. Because before payment shows 1300K for 12 classes for example, but charges card 1500K. Be careful. You can pay with card at the reception and without commission

2019 moments: like a lot of people who go to Bali, I decided to to go on a solo trip to be able to disconnect from everything and everyone. I wanted to focus on myself, on my yoga practice, and especially on my meditation!

I found exactly what I wanted and even more, Samadi was the perfect place to be, I quickly found myself getting comfortable with that sense of community and how welcoming everyone I met there was, I effortlessly found myself connecting with likeminded people and making wonderful friends.

The yoga classes I had with Deva, have transformed my yoga practice and made me ready for my self practice.

As for the meditation sessions I had with Agathe (and I still thank her to this day) have forever transformed me as a being and how I think and feel towards myself first and towards others. The self worth you experience and the self love you feel completely changes your perspective. I always go back to those meditations whenever I feel any imbalance.

Can’t wait to be back!

After being back home, I can say this was one of my most favorite yoga places in Bali!
The classes are amazing and i just love how you can hear water running underneath you while in the Yoga classes, the cafe also had delicious healthy treats and the Sunday market was cool to check out! Must do when in Canggu, thank you for the inspiration!

Review on the meditation classes:

I stayed at Samadi for a mini retreat. While I was there, I was attending a great workshop called „awakening your inner buddah“ with Lola. There I first got in contact with Agathe. She teaches meditation at Samadi.

I came to Bali to calm down and to kind of reflect on a few things in my life as so many other people intent to do there, too.

So far, I was not having a lot of experiences with yoga or meditation or spirituality in general. As I found Agathe really inspiring and energizing, I decided to attend her meditation classes. After the first one I just thought that meditating is not very easy, instead, I found it pretty tough. However, I liked it and wanted to learn more.

In the second meditation I was feeling so much better and even had the feeling that I was able to reach a meditative state, which was very emotional and eye opening for me.

First of all, I love the place and the atmosphere where the classes take place.

Agathe is really passionate teacher and everytime I worked with her I could feel that she loves what she’s doing. She not only guides you through the meditation, but also she provides you with valuable insights about meditating, e.g. She explains why it’s important to have a nice long spine and so on. She creates an atmosphere which is relaxed and powerful at the same time and she is interested in every individual. I trusted her very quickly.
So I decided to work on a personal basis with Agathe, which I really enjoyed, too. She was always prepared and honest and very flexible.

Moreover, I attended a workshop about healing inner child wounds, which was amazing, too! Every cell of her body shows you that she is very excited and passionate about this topic.

I highly recommend getting to know Agathe when you are in Bali, her experiences, her eager to continually evolve and her positivity will jump on you.

Thanks Agathe, you made my time in Bali so great and still nowadays I can feel your energy!

What a fantastic place! I love the ambiance here and everyone is so friendly. The yoga instructors are highly trained and the hospitality is very good. Would highly recommend Samadi to anyone looking for a great atmosphere and excellent yoga close to everything in Canggu. Oh yeah, and you should check out the Sunday organic market. So good!

I allowed it one month before I wrote the review about Samadi Bali place. I wanted to do it with my calm mind.

Unfortunately I feel the same way in one month after this experience, therefore I would like to share it.

I would definitely not recommend you to go to Samadi Bali on retreat. And here is why:

1. Value for money is unbelievably low. I’ve been to Mana retreat, to Flowers and Fire on Gili, to yoga Barn in Ubud and Samadi was the worst and also the most expensive experience. There are some great things to do on Samadi, but better to stay outside of Samadi and to book them externally;

2. There is no “personalized” retreat. Intake session which they are referring to in my case was a hectic meeting where they were trying to put my massage and another treatment which I chose to my schedule. No one asked me what is my goal, why I’m coming here, etc. ;

3. I chose in my package Deep Tissue massage. It was nothing to do with Deep Tissue - it was very medium Balinese massage. The quality of massage was very poor, also personnel not very friendly, but also they don’t pay attention to the details at all: you can’t choose the oil, there is no decoration with the flowers, you can hear all the notices from swimming pool and therefore can’t really relax. What was disappointing that the woman didn’t wash was her hands neither before massage, neither after massaging my feet, trying to massage my face. ;

4. When my baggage was taken out from my room, the woman took my RIMOWA suitcase for 550 EUR all the way through small stones and completely destroyed the bottom. I complained about it, but I just had a quick sorry;

5. After I already paid my deposit, I’ve been contacted by Samadi that they made a mistake and instead of 4 days I can have retreat only of 3 days (in the end I was of course happy about that, but it’s just unprofessional) ;

6. When I arrived, the personnel tried to put me to a horrible room which is far away from what you see on the pictures. The room was not near swimming pool, but on a second floor, very dark and not nice. I refused to stay there and in one hour they eventually found out that I can stay in a good room;

7. However the food in general is good, I’ve been served with cappuccino with spoiled milk. When I asked to change it, personnel started showing me the bottle arguing that it should be good. When I asked them to try it, they changed cappuccino.

So overall impression is unsatisfactory for now. I hope owners of the retreat will pay attention to this message as many of these factors are easy to improve.

There are also some points I really liked about Samadi, but you can do it without booking the retreat.
1. Mysore ashtanga yoga lessons with Andrea were very good; she is amazing;
2. Chakra healing treatment with Balinese healer was amazing also.

Kind regards, Anna

Love the vibe here, calm with great music a perfect place to chill and read a book while enjoying their yummy food!

What can I say.having booked an 8 day retreat on whim having resigned from my job back home, it was the best thing I could do. From the yoga, the massages, to the therapeutic sessions particularly the craniosacral therapy and life coaching, I left Samadi Bali (with sadness) a completely revived and reconnected person to when I first entered.

All the staff were lovely and very accomodating, the restaurant food was fabulous and the rooms comfortable.

To all the accommodation and restaurant staff thank you so much for your lovely, friendly and smiley service as well as the personal chats when I saw you. The teachers and therapeutic coaches Mel, Jenny, Andrea and Deva thank you so much, each of you in your own way really helped! For me personally, a truly memorable experience. I hope to come back sooner rather than later and would thoroughly recommend this to those seeking an experience of a personal retreat.

Samadi Bali is the perfect venue to host intimate retreats or trainings. With 10 beautiful rooms, a private pool, and both indoor and outdoor yoga shalas, the space is divine. Not only is it located in the heart of Canggu—walking distance to the beach, and some of the top cafes in Bali, it’s also tucked down a back alley next to a rice field so the views are incredible and the ambiance is very serene. I’ve now hosted more than 10 retreats/trainings in various locations and found Samadi’s management team to be the most responsive, caring & capable around. They catered to any extra requests and adapted to the feedback from our first visit so it just keeps getting better. The food is tasty, delicious, filling & well-designed to fit any dietary requirements while maintaining taste and presentation. We can’t wait to be back and host another training at Samadi soon.

I love this place,
I took yoga classes with Mel and Agathe and both were really friendly and welcoming. I havent tried the food but coffees are great, I love the almond milk they sell? I hope I can be back soon

One of my favorite places in Canggu. Best breakfast, fresh fruit, yogurt and coffee.

There is also a market where you can buy handmade products.

We did the Mysore classes with Damien and Andrea and they are both fantastic teachers. Nice ambience and good food)

My friends had organised for myself and my boyfriend to come to Samadi for a day for my 30th birthday so I tried to organise to do yoga in the morning, then have lunch and then hoped to chill by the pool (which we weren’t aloud to even though there was no one by the pool!) and then have a massage. Right from getting to Samadi we felt so unwelcome and no one knew what was going on or like they were happy to work there. The yoga was terrible, Mellisa the teacher was so unwelcoming, didn’t look happy to be there and didn’t even do any yoga so you had to watch the other students if you didn’t hear her. It’s not cheap there and places cheaper are way better and nicer. The food was also terrible, the worst breakfast I’ve had in Bali and the only one I didn’t like my plate was flooded with water. It’s such a shame as I know my friends tried to plan something lovely but Samadi just let their beautiful plan down, the only good thing was the massage lady was lovely.
24 Juli 2019 15:39
The tantric yoga class was great, it’s the only one I’ve tried, but I’m removing one star due to the extremely rude woman at reception and the price of the class. I’m not sure why samadi is more expensive than yoga barn. Nothing about it is any better. Especially not the welcoming from reception. But the class was great and the teacher was beautiful and lovely. I would go back

A lovely place to go on a Sunday. There’s a wide assortment of goods such as skincare, vegetables, fruits, fish, pet accessories, toys, bags, accessories etc. Not sure how often the stalls change though. There was also a dog adoption drive happening then!

There was an amazing cake stall there! We tried a banana brownie and cheese choco cake, really soft and moist. Delicious!

We had smoothie bowls at the cafe inside. VERY filling but takes awhile to come. Good to maybe order first and continue browsing the stalls.

Took my first yoga class here at Samadi Bali. Really enjoyed myself and didn't feel uncomfortable as a first timer. Although I would say it can get crowded with lots of people as there isn't a limit.
07 Juni 2019 6:51
Was here yesterday for food and massage. Food & Service at the Restaurant was really disappointing, so spicy I could almost not eat it and quality of the food in general was not great at all. Afterwards I got really sick as well - guess this was the most annoying part of it for me.
Massage on the other hand was great but also expensive comparing to other massage places in Canggu with good quality and luxury.
14 Mei 2019 1:57
I spent 2 weeks practicing yoga at Samadi. As a beginner I felt at home and really enjoyed every class. My highlights were Hatha yoga with Abdi, Yin with Todjan and intro to Ashtanga with Melissa. And if one is looking to learn on a one on one session I highly recommend Melissa.
Oooh and let's not forget about the amazing kitchen. It offers amazing vegan food. I highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed my time here and made some awesome friends too.
02 Mei 2019 1:43
I really enjoyed my time at Samadi. Their staff is very friendly and Melissa is a fantastic instructor. I took two classes and each of them left me craving more and feeling refreshed. The smoothie bowl, avocado toast and coconuts are super fresh and tasted wonderful. I will definitely be back. Thank you!
02 April 2019 3:02
Awesome vibes here! If you're in Canggu and want to do some yoga or drink a perfect cup of coffee, this is your place! I especially recommend Jacquleine's yoga sessions - she's awesome. And when it comes to coffee, give that cashew milk a try! Literally the best plant-based milk in my whole life.
