Seaside Tribe - Boutique Surf Stay & Retreat

Tucked away just north of Canggu, Adi and Irene’s surf stay in Kedungu was an unforgettable experience! Everyone was very welcoming, courteous and helpful, and addressed us by our names which added such a lovely personal touch. Surf instructors are all awesome and as another reviewer noted, never fail to put a smile on your face! The rooms and amenities are clean and well-presented (with lovely personal touches), and guests are also encouraged to think sustainably by recycling any plastic or cardboard materials. The communal areas are also kept very tidy and whilst I didn’t have time to use the swimming pool it always looked pristine. Also, the two complimentary breakfasts included everyday - yum! Seaside Tribe felt like a home away from home, we will definitely return very soon!

Amazing place. We stayed for 5 nights and everything was perfect. We even had BBQ at the beach one night. Irene and Adi build something really wonderful.
Also the surf teachers and the staff are really kind and helpful. If we come back to bali then we'll come back to the Seaside Tribe. It felt like home.

Yes Yes Yes, just go there. You will find yourself in a little gem hidden in nature.
Great place to meet people and learn how to surf.
The service is great, surfing is made easy with them.
The attention to detail in the decoration makes the whole place gorgeous. The room is ideal and has a great outdoor shower.

(renting a scooter is a must but it's Bali so pretty usual thing)

PS: It made us consider extending our trip just to spend more time there.

I loved staying at the Seaside Tribe. From the people, to the place, location, food and surfing — everything was amazing. I will definitely be back for a longer trip in the future!

Really an incredible place. Ade, Irene and all the staff and surf instructors were amazing. We felt like family after only a couple of days and didn't want to leave. Four nights was not enough. Other guests were also really great company. Our 12 year old loved the place and his surfing came on leaps and bounds in just a short time. Great cafés, restaurants and sights (Tanah Lot and Ocean Love sunset place) all very close by and beach a 5min bike ride. Stunning location, accommodation, food, service and instructors. I can't recommend Seaside Tribe highly enough.

Wow what a place! That was really the BEST place to stay and enjoy Bali. The place is in the quiet village of Kedungu. The rooms are super clean, the staff males you feel like home and the massage is probably one of the very best in Bali. And the food is really good and enjoyable after surfing or visiting Tanah lot temple.

The surfing is cool, and the Kedungu beach is less crowded than Canggu which is appreciable.

So maybe this is a thing in Bali, but this family run Surfstay is exactly as beautiful, green, lush and well kept as in it‘s Instagram. The Rooms are super clean, spacious with a semi-open Bathroom, good showers with hot water, an aircon and an open Closet, so the clothes actually stay dry in the damp Bali weather. The view goes out into the lush garden with its palmtrees, the pool and the open Yoga-Shala. It all feels a lot like a private garden just that you share it with a bunch of cool people. Since Seaside Tribe Bali is a pretty small Hotel with a maximum of 10 guests staying here, „the tribe“ usually comes together quite nicely for beach Barbecues, Drinks by the pool or other outside endeavours not just the surfing. The family that runs the place is super nice, welcoming and really made us feel at home for our stay. They can organise most things from transfers, laundry to motor bike rental. The food was always really tasty, I particularly enjoyed the homecooked local meals. Breakfast consists of an array of possibilities from Bananapancakes to more European Options and always exotic fruit.
The surf guiding is conducted by mostly local surf guides that know the area, the spots and the other locals very well, wich made for great sessions in a very welcoming environment. All in all it feels more like moving out then moving on to leave this place.

Best place to stay in Bali by far! Amazing crew, very welcoming. We booked a room, walk-in, and enjoyed the vibe of a surf camp even though we only had the accommodation. Amazing coffee with even better healthy breakfast each morning; the homemade pumpin jam was very delicious! Beautiful and clean rooms and common area with a tropical vibe. There is a good area for work out/yoga as well. Pool was clean and cute. Will be back for sure!:)

After staying a whole week at Seaside Tribe I can say that it feels like home! Iren and its gorgeous team have treated me amazingly since the first minute. I lost my phone and they helped me to recover it. I’ve also improved my surfing skills thanks to the surf family at seaside!

Loved staying here, so much that I came back for an additional week! The whole place is gorgeous, everyone is friendly and super helpful, the surfing at the nearby beach is all just ideal. Canggu is close enough to visit frequently but still you can enjoy the peacefulness of Kedungu - best of both worlds. Totally recommend it.

We really recommend this place. Initially we planned only to stay here for 3 nights and ended up extending it for 5 nights. Seaside tribe is very warming, the rooms are very clean, comfortable and big.
I had also the chance to join the surf classes with other people staying there which made the experience really nice and social. Close by there are some really nice restaurants (recommend Fat Hog and Cliff Hanger) and Canggu is only 20 min away with the motorbike. Hope to come back at some point.

Really beautiful accommodation and friendly people, staying here and doing surf lessons was the highlight of our holiday!

AMAZING!

The layout if the accomodation is so incredible, from the gardens to the pool, to the rooms.

The accomodation is a short scooter ride away from the beach and a handful of really decent cafes/restaurants.

Adi & Irene were phenomenal hosts. Irene helped decipher the confusing lion air website (we couldn’t figure out the deal with flying with surfboards). Adi found me sandpaper so I could repair my surfboard. Nothing was a hassle!

I read a review about this place, in which someone stated „a home from home“ and „because this place is so beautiful, you don’t really want to review it, so that it’s not going to be overrun with loads of people“.

However, as Irene and Adi put so much heart and effort into creating this place, I think they deserve for it to be acknowledged. And that more people come and visit this place. Because it’s the small and new places that need honest and positive feedback to survive and to stand out of the thousand different places on Bali you can do also what they also offer. (And from some you don’t know which review is fake or true)
So, here’s mine:

The place is breathtakingly beautiful, calm and perfect! You will find here five wonderful and foremost tastefully decorated rooms with comfy beds and free water throughout your stay.
A well groomed pool invites you to take a dip on hot afternoons, and the common area rounds up the place in which everyone meets up and comes together if they fancy breakfast, dinner or just to hang loose!

ALL the staff have been super, super friendly from the start making every wish possible, from massage to excursions or just to chat.

I’ve stayed there for seven nights to improve, or at least to learn the basics on how to surf. Rudy has been awesome! Seriously! He’s been very patient, fun and clear! I always felt save because I knew that he knows what he’s doing! #6amclub
Seriously, I will miss the spirit of the surf shack and the entire vibe!

So what’s left to say, apart from the fact that I can highly recommend this place to everyone who’s looking for comfort, quality and to everyone who wants to get to know the Balinese lifestyle on the island. All of these people put so much effort into your stay and making you feel welcome and comfortable.
Which is why I think that the price/quality ratio is not even close to be justified. Because compared to other places and fancy accommodations I’ve stayed on Bali, this place is a bargain and should cost much more for what you get!

Best place we stayed at.
Very beautiful place with great vibes, where you can either have your intimacy thanks to a big room with a nice little terrace or chill out in the common space next to the pool and meet up with others.
Great location, in an authentic village surrounded by rice fields and 2 min away from Kedungu beach by scooter.
The place is perfect if you want to enjoy real Balinese experience and stayed in a place that is not to touristic yet. But no worries you still 15 min away in scooter from Canggu where there is lot of different restaurants and shopping.
The place is amazing for surfing, whatever your level, from complete beginner to confirmed surfer. The surf spot is next door (2 min away by scooter) not to crowded with great vibes in the water. You can rent a board directly at the beach or take surf lessons with Seaside Tribe (which I recommend).
The instructors are great, putting safety first and make you feel progress each time thanks to video analysis and great advice in the water.

You know you have found a good place when you are hesitant to share about it (for fear that more people might flock to the place and crowd it) but yet feel that more people deserve to know it. I think Seaside Tribe run by Adi and Irene is such a place.

It felt very homely here, largely due to it being a family run business with soul. Room was nice and had everything, nothing to complain about. Surfing lessons with Adi too were great, and I thoroughly enjoyed my lessons with him.

Very value for money and I hope to be back again.

Irene and Adi are very cool hosts and provide a wonderful experience. It was my first surfing holiday and thanks to Adi and Rudi it will not have been my last.super cozy garden, great surfing lessons, close to kedungu beach and lovely staff…
Not to mention the balinese breakfast and healthy juices.

As the name already promise, it is a quiet place surrenderd by typical balinees villages near by the  beach.  
New very stylish Bungalows with lovely decorations which are placed in a wonderfull garden with a  pool. The stuff is amazing and the owners Irene & Adi are so kind and care about you in the best way.
It is also a perfect location if you surf or are interested in it. They own also a surf school, which arrange everything from pick up, board rental and very professional surf lessons.

Thanks a lot for the nice days at your accomentation and we will defenetly see us again.
