Sundays Beach Club

We paid 2.8mil for two daybeds and went on a Friday afternoon during the recommended time for water sports (low tide).

We have been to many beach clubs in Bali and this by far was our least favourite. The drinks are extremely watered down and very costly, expect to pay $16AUD for a basic cocktail (not including 21% extra fees/tax) or $12AUD for a basic Bintang beer.

Customer service was poor, the venue seemed short staffed, many people in the VIP section had to walk over to the bar to actually take their orders.

Drinks and food are very pricy and not worth the value. There are much more luxe beach clubs that also offer much better customer service for better value.

We went based on the reviews and were unimpressed.

Atmosphere was great! We did the movie by the beach, and the experience was beautiful. Sunset was amazing, and I love the overall vibe.

The service was okay. Took a while to bring the food, but that’s fine. They asked to hold on to our credit card, when we wanted to have an open bill —which we weren’t comfortable about. I understand this is a dilemma for them, but the loss for us as customers is greater here.

Wasn’t happy with the movie they played (E. T.) We decided to leave 20mins after it started playing.

Despite some imperfections, I still think the experience was nice. Just don’t do it for the movie (s)!

Do it for the sunset.

We came here because I saw the menu said there are plant based options. The bottom of the menu says ‘please ask for the plant based menu’. I asked 3 staff, nobody knew what I was talking about and said they had no plant based menu. The lady said I have to go through each of the options and ask if they can make it vegan. I tried to do that but the waiters didn’t know exactly what was in the dishes, they kept recommending things to me that had dairy or egg in them or seafood! They gave me guacamole and chips in mayonnaise on the bottom which contains eggs! I expected better for such an expensive place. Bali has very good vegan options this establishment needs to keep up with the times

Very picturesque and relaxing spot, great snorkelling straight off the beach, service was very efficient and attentive. It is a bit of a drive to get there from the main tourist area, but that means it is less busy when you are there.

Wow! This place was breathtaking. The minute I arrived at the cliff top entrance, I experienced luxury and a sense of peace.

Highly recommended booking a VIP bed in advance. You don't have to as I also saw plenty of seats at the restaurant and cushions along the beach.

Personally, a bit of privacy and personal care and service are important for me from time to time.

The cable car down to the beach was amazing. I love the little basket on arrival, and the staff regularly checks on you.

Amazing place! What a secret gem. Waves before noon and then afternoon the water turns more calm to snorkel a bit. Service is very friendly, food is delicious. Wood fire pizza is recommended!

Only thing that bummed me out is that they could have made this spot the most romantic ever, but they just missed that. Music was too edm-ish, just two small bonfires and it just lacked that little romantic sparkle. But besides that amazing place to visit

An absolutely stunning environment with prompt, unobtrusive and friendly service. We all loved the snorkelling and paddle boarding.
The food and drinks were good quality.
I was unimpressed with the fact that smoking is permitted (there's no smoking or non-smoking areas) and, with the close proximity between groups and at least half of our 'neighbours' being smokers, we had to breathe in second hand smoke every 15 mins or so depending the breeze direction. This was an unfortunate and avoidable negative experience in an otherwise lovely day. We - especially our kids - shouldn't have to breathe in second hand smoke and the venue operators should segment smoking from non-smoking guests.

Sayangnga saat kami datang sedang low tide, jd tdk bs coba main kayak. Tetapi pengalaman yg lainnya memuaskan. Turun ke pantai nya dg cable car. Pantai bersih dan lautnya jernih. Makanan dan minuman yg kami pesan semua enak, namun harga agak mahal. Semua staff ramah dan helpful. Terimakasih sdh melayani kami dg baik. Will come back

Great place to visit and spend a day lounging in the sun. A little pricey but all in all very nice.

Tickets can be used for consumption, one-day ticket is $1300/person!
Although.a bit high, but the scenery is amazing and the food is not bad!

Untuk masuk kesini tiket 200rb/orang bisa renang, ke pantai dibawah, sama mainan kano sudah dpt handuk. Nambah lagi untuk makan 250rb/orang. Minim 450rb/orang kalau mau ksini.

Diatas ada kolam renang, kalau mau renang ke pantainya harus turun ke bawah. Untuk kebawah ada fasilitas liftnya dan ada pemandunya. Setelah itu turun beberapa tangga dan dibawah ada cafenya juga.

Kalau makanan lumayan rasanya. Minumannya lumayan enak.
View pantainya bagus enak buat nyantai.
Ombak pantainya kecil gak begitu besar.
Yg suka berjemur cocok kalo ksini.

Ok but not my style. The property is truly beautiful and well kept. You see the difference with the public beaches immediately. It was my first time in a beach club, so maybe this is normal. But there was music everywhere. Literally everywhere. In a volume that I found disturbing. The beds all very close to each other. Don't come here if you want quietness and privacy. Luckily if you walk some meters there is secluded quiet beach which we used to find some peace.
Overall, too much stuff around. Paid 50 euros for entrance some drinks and pizza for 2 people.

This review was written in February 2018 when I had just visited.

My husband and I were really looking forward to returning to Sundays Beach Club and walking through The Ungasan Cliftop Resort as we had our wedding there when it was previously Semara Luxury Villa Resort and Finn's Beach Club in September 2015. You could not fault anything but this time my experience was sadly the lowlight of my Bali trip.

The grounds of the resort and beach club still appear the same with the beautiful backdrop you can rarely find in Bali.

However my experience was terrible from when I first stepped out of my taxi. There were a group ahead of us which a hostess were helping first. She was young and very friendly. However I was not impressed with the Sundays uniform she had on - polo/tshirt with mini skirt and converse shoes. That was the first hint that the resort/beach club management has lost its finesse.

Next we had to purchase a ticket on the way to the inclinator down. It was around IDR $300k (AUD $30) each with IDR $150k credit to use at the beach club restaurant/bar. The ticket assistant advised us towards the end of the conversation that there is only room left on the deck  and that due to the windy conditions, the umbrella cannot be put up. I then asked her "so there's no shade? " to which she replied "you can have shade in the restaurant". Mind you, it was around 12pm during the day with the sun at it's peak - even those who love to sunbathe would need some shade. I felt that she should have made more emphasis on this and not as a fleeting comment towards the end of the transaction whereby we have already made a decision. At this moment I should have followed my instinct, but my desire to see was-Finn's was too strong.

The inclinator attendant was friendly but as with most of the other staff - seemed disinterested in their job. I believe the issue lies with the management and training of staff. It was nothing close to 5 star service to which it was previously.

When we reached the club, we sat on uncomfortable bean bags on the beach at first with the unbrella down then we moved onto the upper deck onto the sun loungers where we could actually relax and lie down.but as we had no shade due the umbrella also being forced down, the tight space between the 2 loungers plus of course the wind (beyond their control) it was very unpleasant.   We missed the comfort of poolside Rimba and Ayana. At this point, I was so happy we couldn't afford to stay at the Ungasan to relive our wedding memories because I believe the management would affect the experience at the resort as well.

We quickly ordered a dish (prawn in betel leaf, was decent) to use up our credit and got out! 1 staff on the beach club was surprised to see us leave early. She was friendly.

Also, because none of the non-shade areas were available, I went to the boutique to see if I could purchase a hat to make the stay in the sun more bearable. They were asking IDR$500k (AUD $50) for a Sundays visor - unbelievable! I could not fathom the idea of ANYONE paying that much.

All in all, some staff were friendly but the service is not up to standards as the resort should be and for what the price you pay.

About 450K will get you entry for the day and access to facilities. You'll get about 250k back in food and beverage voucher. The food and cocktails are great but pricey. You can take waterbottles in but everything else will need to be left with security. Facilities include access to beach with either beanbags or lounge chairs under umbrella, cliff top pool, showers (indoor and outdoor), toilets, use of some equipment. You might even be lucky enough to see the wild monkeys climbing thru the bush next to the beach.

One of the nicest places I have been to in Bali. It costs 450000 to enter with 250000 of it on your tap. Very nice staff, food and drinks are also good.

Definitely worth the price even for people on a budget. We are not big spenders by any means but we decided to treat ourselves to get away from the crowded Kuta Beach and take a break from the constant soliciting you find in Kuta. The price was 450k IDR when we went and that includes 200k for entrance and use of water sport equipment, then 250k credit for spending at the restaurant or spa. We were worried about spending all our money on water trying to stay hydrated, but they offer very delicious cucumber mint water for free! So you don't need to spend any money on water, and you can use all your credit on a nice meal or at the spa. I highly recommend spending the day at Sunday's and spending your credit in the evening when beer and pizza is half priced. I believe it is from 5 to 6: 30 but the pizza is delicious and you can order a few and wash it down with some Bintang all using your credit. Don't be afraid of spending a crazy amount of money, especially if you bring some snacks to tide you over until half price pizza.

Beautiful spot with pool and sunbeds high up on a cliff and restaurant and sunbeds by the white beach. Standup paddle, canoes and snorkeling included in the daily pass. At sunset bonfires are lit on the beach. We spent a great family day here!

Great beach club. Nice beach with complementary water equipment available - look out for high tide times and try go then. 5pm-6: 30pm happy hours with half price pizza/cocktails/bintang plus bonfires where you can roast marshmallows in & then dip in chocolate.:)

We paid. After they took our money they informed us that there are no more sun beds available! So we were scammed. Got to the beach abd had to sit in the hot sun without umbrellas after paying for umbrellas. Got some food and it was super super overpriced. A 60k burger was over 150k! Also the reef is dead and bkeached with almost no fish. There were only about 5 paddle boards for about 100 people sl we never got to use them. This is a TOTAL SCAM AND RIP OFF. One can go enjoy any other beach in bali and have beers and food and a swim for literally a fraction of the price. STAY AWAY! THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!
