The Luhron is a great little find. The food was delicious, service spot on, Made so friendly. Price is great, mine was higher due to drinking cocktails, but still very reasonable. Definitely eat here if you get the chance
Delicious food. The Balinese nasi campur is an absolute must, the spiciness is not too bad, even with the sambal. The pisang goreng was to die for. Very friendly, cheerful service. A restaurant to come back to.
The food is delicious. The place is beautiful too. But the best part is how friendly and kind the people are. They have a good heart and make you feel at home. Made treated me like family and I will always remember this place with a smile. I will come back one day. Obrigado Made
This is a hidden gem. We highly recommend. The food was so good that we ordered another round of garlic butter prawns. Simply delicious! And the staff very friendly. We enjoyed our last dinner in Bali here and we do not regret it!
This is by far one of the best local places I’ve been! The atmosphere, Madek and his mom Mama Luh, and the food is just simply out of this world for me. 100/10 experience for me for sure. Beautiful history of their place, fantastic people with really great energy! Pepes Tuna is super good, chicken curry warms my heart and butter garlic prawns is the champion of them all if you like savoury food! Great balance of greens and proteins. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is in and or coming to Seminyak! A must must must try!
Enjoyed a lovely traditional Balinese meal at this restaurant. It’s a charming little place up some steep stairs. The service was amazing and the food delicious. Chicken satays and fried banana and ice cream were everyone’s favourites, and I really enjoyed the chicken curry and Mi Goreng.
It is (at the time of writing this) cash only. That wasn’t a problem for our delightful waiter who ran me up the road on the back of his scooter to the atm and then home.
Definitely recommend a visit for authentic food and charming service.
An alleyway off a side street, this small unassuming Warung on the top floor of a family home hit every button of happiness after a night of over indulgence. Big Boy had the Campur (a variety plate of veges, chicken, rice and tempe) whilst I had the dry spicey chicken stir fry (as opposed to wet curry). All recipes and cooking is by Mama and Made her lovely son served us with a smile. We stayed for dessert of fried bananas with icecream. Add 2 ice teas and total was 180k idr. Definitely recommend!
Mama Lu and her son Made holding fort in this under-rated hole in the wall gem. Eclectic and rustic decor with laid back, unpretentious vibes. If you’re looking for genuine home cooked Indonesian food, this is the place. Highly recommend the Pepes Tuna wrapped in banana leaves, the savoury sweet Chicken Meatball Rica, the Fu Yung Hai omelette, the Cap Cai mixed vegetable, garlic butter prawns. Wipe up all the peanut sauce dregs with keropok crackers. Definitely will be back.
Honestly the BEST curry I have had on my travels in Bali. Great value place with cheap delicious food and the most amazing fresh fruit cocktails for only 50k! Mama and her wonderful family are the most friendly people. This place may be a little hidden but definitely worth finding for the perfect meal and hospitality. Will definitely be back!
I had a very good experience here at The Luhron. I was a solo traveller and Made gave me a very warm welcome. The place was nicely decorated, and you'll feel like you've just walked into a house than a warung/cafe/restaurant. It may be a little walk to get to from the main road but trust me, it's worth it.
Food was great, Made recommended the Ayam Rica and based on reviews I decided to try the Garlic Prawns too. Chicken was perfectly done, I got the medium spice level and the spice was just right. But caution to those who can't take spice too well perhaps the lowest level would be just right (3 levels in total).
You could feel the sea breeze from this place and honestly, I enjoyed my solo time there so much. Mama was so hospitable as well. It really feels like home.
Thank you Mama and Made for making my night? Will definitely come back to visit when I'm back in Bali.
A hidden authentic family restaurant tucked away down a side street. The chicken curry was absolutely delicious. Lemongrassy, full of flavour and perfectly spiced - asked for mine spicy and it didn’t disappoint! Had my nose running but was a tasty full bodied spice! Also the beer is cheap and the cocktails are delicious! Tried a Mango Daquiri and a Pineapple Daquiri, both were made fresh in the blender and delicious/ deadly! Only 50k each too. The restaurant is ran by a small family of four, the mother and son we spoke with are the nicest, friendliest people you’ll meet on your travels and want to do all they can to make sure you enjoy your visit! Definitely would visit again if I ever was in town!
A hidden pearl. Passed by a sign at the small road on the way to the beach "local Indonesian food" went to have a look and ended up in a lovely decorated place. The food was great and the price was cheap. Fried rice with chicken 45k Fried noodles with chisken 45k Garlic prawns with spicy sauce 55k Choose if you want spicy or medium spicy. Beer 25k Watermelon juice 35k A whole Coconut 25k
The staff was lovely and interested in us being at the restaurant and hearing our story of traveling. Definitely coming again
Wonderful ambience. Mama Luh is a wonderful host. Had the most awesome butter prawns and fried bananas with ice cream. One has to wait till the food is specially cooked for you. Light on the pockets. Must visit place if you are in Sheminyak, Bali
Food was fantastic. We have visited 4 times in the space of a week, it's that good. Delicious flavours with a Indonesian home cooking feeling. Enjoy the view and the breeze as well as the beautiful food. Highly recommended the chicken curry and the fried Banana with ice cream, they have definitely become some of our favourites of the menu.
Perched on the 2nd level of a villa's entrance this joint offers comfort Indonesian dishes like nasi goreng and mie goreng at reasonable prices. The interior is chocked-full with the owner's antique collections that are better appreciated during the day due to limited lighting at night.
Tasty garlic butter prawn, but I happened to get some of the hard grainy rice bits. The taste of the prawn is very flavourful, cooked just right. For those who came very hungry, the cooking time is a tad long because I think the cook is cooking the food one-by-one. Friendly staff too
Went to this place after seeing they were rated #5 on TripAdvisor. We were looking for some authentic Indonesian food after trying the higher end Kaum & Sarong & we were not disappointed. A quiet little place, a little off the beaten track & totally worth a visit with upstairs seating. We ordered Nasi Goreng & a chicken dish with mama Lu’s sauce. The chicken was chicken breast which I love as no fatty bits. For dessert we had the fried banana & icecream. It was all delicious & so reasonably priced, I think Mama Lu could put her price us a little as the food was great. This food is simple, delicious, authentic & made by the owner Mama Lu who is a genuinely lovely lady. There were a few local hotel patrons who had come for take outs whilst we were there. We will definitely be visiting again & recommend a try.
Simply excellent! Service is quick and extremely friendly (done from the son of the family) Food is excellent and feels really authentic (done by mama luh herself) It has been a pleasure everyday to come there.
The restaurant is really not at the main road and in an alley and at 2nd floor of a guest house. Nice cosy place for local Balinese home cook food.we ordered fish, prawn, chicken and vegetables and finish all food by 2 pax.
The restaurant is great! Dont listen to the negative statements. It is absolutely safe at any time of the day. We ve been there for lunch and dinner for like 6 times during our stay at a hotel nearby. Everytime delicious, fast, and at a goodbquality/price ratio. We recommend the curry and the garlic butter prawns. When you arrive, just go upstairs and call for Mama Luh.
Sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr lecker.
I went there, and it seemed abandoned. No one was in the entire building, and my taxi didn't think it was smart I go there alone. Solo traveler's, beware.
We went to this restaurant based on the many good reviews and pictures. It was very disappointing. The food was very poor and some even inedible in particular the fish curry. The only positive was the friendly waitress.
Our first AirBnB and successful! The house was small but perfect with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room. Interior is cool and wide, enough for us to take a rest. The small pool nice for me. Only 10 minutes walking to the beach
The best food in Seminyak by far! Excellent food and drinks at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff and great ambience. Been 2 times in four days and will definitely be going again
Exceptional value for money and served by a wonderful family. A must for a great value night out with some simple but wonderful flavours. Cocktails priced at $5 Australian was certainly a hit with the ladies in our group. If you want a great meal at an exceptional price, then it should be a must for your visit.
It’s the best food that I had during my whole trip in Bali. I went there for two days in a row and had Mie goreng and Pepes Tuna. Highly recommend for people who wanna have balinese homemade cuisine.
