I don't know the names of Chicken Kung Pao and the others. I tried it because it was recommended in a maps review, but both were bad. It would be especially bad if you are used to Korean food. The quality of the noodles was better than that of convenience store pasta. Even the convenience store pasta was more delicious. The alcohol is delicious~~~~ Go for the second drink instead of eating~~~~~ For your information, I also enjoy delicious food from convenience stores.
So far it has been an amazing experience. My main reason to travel and holiday solo was because I was spending the holidays alone without my son and missed him, but staying here has filled the void of being alone on holidays and have really made me feel welcomed, warm and happy. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
The only reason I gave less than perfect rating for location is because it is just off the main road and due to that, people miss out on noticing the place and coming in to experience the friendly atmosphere and service that I have experienced.
I stayed in the “cozy” room, really different and very comfortable! Nice pool area & restaurant, staff were really friendly as well! Quite quiet due to off season but plenty of events setup.
Tried their kung pao and chicken dumpling noodle soup. Both were tasty and decent portion for its price. Apparently there are rooms for rent just behind the restaurant too as I was told by the server.
We visited this perfect place twice. The first experience was so good, so we went back for our farewell dinner. And it was even better. The cocktails are georgeouses. The staff is exeptional and the food is as delicious as it stands in the restaurant’s name. The second time we even had live music
Came to the bar on a whim from overhearing the amazing live music and stayed for the warmest and most generous staff and experience. A must when in Ubud in the eve.
I did not stay here but just had a couple of drinks and food. Seriously this place is awesome. The vibes, the people and everything. It just says that there are simple things in life that gives u absolute joy! Thank you for the experience!
I loved my stay at The Onion. The people are genuinely some of the friendliest people I have ever met and welcomed me into their community even though I was only there for a few days. The rooms are beautiful, unique, and comfortable. They have really good quality live music multiple nights per week and events every day. Co-working space, pool, and the restaurant are all great as well. They have buy 1 get 1 free cocktails for 65,000 IDR (a bit over 4 USD) from 5-8 every day. But seriously the best thing about this place is the people, including all the staff and the regulars who hang out there. Even if you don’t stay at the Onion, you should go by for drinks or an event. I was sad to leave!
I stumbled upon this beautiful hidden gem in Ubud while walking around! As soon as I walked in the manager gave me a lovely welcome and talked through their menu with me. Lots of good homemade food and specialised cocktails. I enjoyed a delightful meal and the gorgeous garden area. They also have a pool with complimentary towels and a quiet working space if you need it. Can't wait to come back in the following days and check out their game nights and other events. Thanks for having me Toby! It was a delight! Always nice to find a place that feels homey while travelling:)
We stayed here for our one night in Ubud. I wish we could stay longer. For starters our room was so cool and unique. Kind of a fantasy jungle stone tower. The staff were amazing. We were given a traditional welcome on arrival and a very thorough check in. After we checked out they happily stored our bags and allowed me to use a shower. Above and beyond service. Highly recommended
We needed a break after arriving in Ubud via night bus and found this beautiful little sanctuary in the perfect moment. The staff was so welcoming and friendly and helped us finding a scooter for rent. Food was greeeat too!
Nailing the cocktails. They are 45k full price and beat the ones at two or three times the price elsewhere. They use local Arak that they infuse themselves and then mix them to perfection. Add good food, live music and a pool and it is a total winner.
We came here for a bite to eat - the restaurant is a little tucked away from the Main Street and has a pool that you can use for free if you purchase from the restaurant. We both had the vegan burger which had a tasty tofu & tempeh patty, with delicious hand cut potato chips. We also had a cocktail each which was good. Reasonably priced, super lovely staff and yummy food - definitely a great place to stop!
The room is homey and beautiful. The staffs are humble and helpful. The food is delicious and fresh. We really love our time staying here. Thank you Onion Collaboration. ️️️
Location is easy to find.friendly service.perfect place to relax.romantic.live music for other parties usually there every weekend.for food I ordered chicken wrap at that time and it was delicious.bonus chicken wings.so what are you waiting for.
The place is located in the quite part of Ubud. Good place to work as they have big and quite study (working) room. There are some digital nomads working there.
Came here looking for vegan/vegetarian food and they had a good selection. The pool was under maintenance at the time. We came for early dinner and it was quiet. Staff were friendly and the burgers were good. I would totally skip the fries though. For the price I would say it’s ok - have been to others with better value. Perhaps if we came when the band was playing it would have been more a Positive experience.
Good place for foreigners to meet other foreigners in a casual beer and chat atmosphere. Also a place to meet rasta-hair, reggae singing, hug-lovin hippie locals.
Lovely Place! Best food in Ubud.and their live music/singers are awesome as well as the ambience! It's so chilled out and relaxed! Please don't miss this place while you're in Ubud!
Really nice place. Only stopped in for a drink but the staff were sweet and the atmosphere was cool. They gave us some complimentary snack which were really good.
Food is OK and staff are friendly but lots of stray dogs roaming around (without collars, meaning they have not been vaccinated against rabies) and even though they say they take card, it will take lots of arguing and at least 20 mins to pay by this method. They also tried to convince me that I didn't need a receipt, which is ridiculous given how much card fraud happens in Bali. This place is hardly a competitor to Hubud down the road even though they literally have signs indicating that this is where they position themselves. They seem to misunderstand that paying a little more isn't a problem for visitors compared to such inconvenience and lack of professionalism.
Excellent Place. We stayed in Ubud for 3 nights and eat here 2 out of the three (wish we eat here all three night) Best food I have eaten in Bali, it’s just delious, Fresh and Very Tasty. The staff were awesome and so friendly. The live music each night was great and very entertaining. We loved the dogs there, as we left our two to go on holidays, so it was great therapy for us to have a dog around and felt like home. Highly Recommend Onion Co and we can’t wait to visit again soon, Thankyou to all the staff
This place has zero respect for its guests. It’s midnight and they are playing the World Cup at full blast in the bar. It’s so loud that it could be in my room with my ear to the speaker and the staff/some guests are all watching it and screaming when someone scores a goal. I wouldn’t recommend this place for accommodation purposes to anyone who comes for a nice relaxing time. If you’re going to be out all night anyway then maybe it’s for you but if you want a good nights sleep after a day of activities I don’t think it’s for you:)
Ell, vacation trip and we all end up in this restaurant thinking they have Sheesha, apparently they don't. We decided to order something to eat and me being the only vegetarian in the whole lot, went ahead and took the risk of ordering an Asian Comfort and it blew mind away with an amazing taste. The quantity was definitely heavy but the food was amazing. I recommend it to anyone trying to check out vegetarian food in Bali. And the cost is pretty economical is what I thought however depends on what you eat.
