I don't know why the bad reviews. But we really loved and enjoyed it. It is expensive, of course because its a luxury resorts restaurant. We ordered curry chicken, cheese burger and cocktails. Loved everything. Staff were super friendly as well:)

Restaurant with tables on terraces directly above the river. The food is typical of Balinese cuisine but with great attention to detail. Very good, well treated. The service from the staff is always impeccable! Very nice and particular atmosphere

My partner and I had dinner here to celebrate his birthday. The experience was incredible and absolutely perfect - something I do not say often.

I booked about a month ahead of time and it was very smooth. I communicated with them over email and they were always fast, responsive, and attentive. They responded to all my requests and made everything easy and convenient to plan.

Initially I reserved Table 11, the non-private dining option. When we arrived, it turned out the private dining table was empty so they had moved us there at no extra charge. We got a beautifully decorated table overlooking a rushing river, complete with a candelabra, floral arrangements, petals and candles on the ground - everything was beautiful. It was obvious that immense care was put into setting up the scene for the night.

The service was the absolute highlight. Our host and server were amazing! They helped us take nice photos throughout the night. Overall the service was detailed and attentive, but never intrusive. Our server, Wayan Andi, was so delightful. He made sure we were well taken care of. When my partner expressed that he really liked the amuse bouche, Wayan had the kitchen prepare another serving for him. We had some good conversations with him, too. The staff surprised my partner with a birthday dessert and sang happy birthday for him, which was very kind of them. My partner said it was the best service he had ever had.

Finally, we loved the food! I was worried four courses wouldn't be enough but we were very full by the end of the meal. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned, flavors well-balanced, each course presented beautifully. Even the welcome bread was good.

I can't recommend this place enough. Next time I will definitely come back for special occasions.

The swept away restaurant is in an idyllic setting in the Samaya resort. The service was very prompt, perhaps a little too prompt to clear your plates etc.you felt a little watched.
The restaurant doesn't have much of an atmosphere as it's very quiet all the time and the ratio to staff is probably a bit too high.
The food was fine, if a little lacking in flavour, we tried the Indonesian dishes and would have expected all of them to pack a bit more flavour.
The staff are all wonderful and talk to you about your plans etc. But I would suggest they focus on generating a bit more of an atmosphere and improving the flavour of some of the dishes.

The staff were absolutely amazing and hospitable. The food was also exceptionally cooked and enjoying all of this along the river was the real deal. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a unique experience

I booked the 100 candle dinner for my Partner's birthday. The whole experience was fantastic! I would really reccomend this for someone trying to spoil a loved one!

Starting off with a private buggy ride from reception down to the restaurant. You are then shown to your absolutely stunning table. (They customised a flower message on the ground)

We were served welcome drinks and an appetiser. A photographer came and took some beautiful photos of us. We then had a spectacular dinner.

Honestly, it was probably the best dinner I've ever had. Our waiter Anggu was fantastic and made the night just that little bit better.

Dining at the Swept Away Restaurant was an exquisite experience. The service was impeccable and attentive, the food was delicious as well as fancy, and the location at a murmuring waterfall felt like out of a movie. Be prepared to spend a bit more than on a regular dinner in Ubud and you won’t regret it.

We booked the 100 Candles Light Private Dinner for our 21st years together.

They didn't disappont us! The food was excellent, location was perfect and the decorations and set-up for our private dinner was too beautiful that we didn't want to mess anything up!

I was a little bit apprehensive at first as anything could go wrong. In such a situation, you either get sub-standard food or sub-standard services and decors.

But I must say that staff at Swept Away Samaya did an excellent job at meeting ALL our expectations!

A MUST GO if you are looking to hold a private, romantic dinner with that special someone. But this is the only private dinner available at this particular site, so plan and make your booking early to avoid disappointment.

We got the 100 candlelights dinner and it was absolutely amazing. Although it rained and had very strong winds. The staff never gave up on trying to light the candles! Their service was amazing and staff were super friendly. The food was really really good and delicious.

3) A PROFESSIONAL Photographer who will help you take photos before/during your dinner. (You get 1 photo free, but trust me the photos were amazing so we got 10 of them)

Location is nice by the river and service was excellent. The food though was absolutely fantastic, the best we had in Ubud and maybe the best we had in all of Bali too.

A total delight! Celebrated my wife's birthday here in one of their most exquisite setting along the river. The 7 course degustation was fabulous for both veg. And non veg options. Staff were extremely courteous and warm. Highly recommended.

Decided to book swept away 100 candles dinner for my proposal. Pak Komang & the team were exceptional, pak Komang made sure that the surprise plan goes well and went the extra mile to help to get the banquet of roses for me. After the dinner, we even had a great chat getting to know more about Samaya, bali as well as Pak Komang families and tradition. He was kind enough to also offer to show us Samaya Villa room tour, i will definitely come back again to this place the next time i’m in Bali.

The restaurant was amazing. A+ food and service. We were à la carte service and just ordered the 6 course meal and trusted the chef; we were not disappointed.

Wow - we visited for the 100 candles dinner whilst on honeymoon. The setting is spectacular, with incredible food and fantastic service. Our waiter, Angga, went above and beyond the whole evening and was genuinely brilliant. Would 100% recommend.

Still my best experience in Ubud although during this pandemic season not many visitors, which become our advantage since the hotel staff treated us so special, thanks to them ;)

All the experiences starting from riding buggy car from reception lobby down to the restaurant, choosing seats, see the gorgeous river view and of course taking as many photos as we prefer never bored me

Fabulous from start to finish. We came here a couple of times in 2017 and decided to celebrate my birthday their this year. It did not disappoint! The staff were professional, positive, polite and attentive. The food & cocktails were tasty and served on time. Highly recommended!

You have to go to "The Samaya" reception and they will drive you down to the restaurant in a golf cart. The restaurant is amazing. The food is exceptional and the service is the best we had in Bali. We had the special of the night with a 6 course meal. Everything was done to perfection. Good atmosphere and clean bathrooms too ️

Beautiful view, delicious food, very attentive and polite staffs.
We visited on 16 Dec 2019 and ordered BBQ Pork Ribs, it was just superbly delicious, falling apart from its bones, it's highly recommended (if you're a pork eater), try also the creme brulee pandan leaves with tamarind sorbet it was just irresistible

Stunning location. Wonderful service. Great place for honeymoon or to really impress your family or loved ones.

Perfect anniversary dinner. The most amazing dinning experience of our life. We had the 4-course menu which was cooked to perfection. We liked each and every dish. The flavours were so well brought together. The service was exceptional and they even got us a cake for our anniversary. The place is beautiful, overlooking the river. Can't find anything we didn't love.

Amazing setting, very romantic, excellent food and the restaurant manager is brilliant and constantly looking to improve (though we don't think it needs any improvement!). We got the set menu with had the wagu three ways which was incredible.

Sitting by the river is a lovely setting for dinner and complements the food.

We ate here during our stay at the Samaya Ubud. They do a phenomenal job with amazing service. We participated in the 100 candle dinner which is truly amazing! If you are staying at the resort or near by it's a must go!

I have romantic dinner here with my spouse. And it was such memorable experience. All the staffs are friendly and professional. They know how to make you feel good. They observed us from good distance so whatever we need their assistance they can give fast respond. The foods are exceptionally tasty. The quality is worth praised and it was well served in nice plating. Since I am a bit "dusun" (ordinary villager never have fine dining befor) I always look at the food in awe when they serve it in front of me. And tend forget to take pictures to capture the moment.

One of the best restaurant locations you will ever see. Staff fantastic but a pity the food does not match, some great dishes but many just average, 5 stars are for location and staff
