At first we sat on the second floor, it was perfect. We liked the food so much that we ordered home delivery. But then we came again and were told that the second floor was not available. If they put you downstairs, run. It's TOO hot here, the fans are broken and the staff is indifferent. They said they didn't have a manager and didn't react at all to how bad it was down there. The fan only works for two tables that are occupied. This is the worst place with the best food. Unfortunately due to the indifference of the staff I will not be returning here
Very delicious sushi, fresh products and great variety. Price a little higher than usual in Subid, but very good for the quality. Good atmosphere and friendly staff
For first place wasn’t very clean. Tables were dirty we moved around 3 tables to finally find a clean table with no ants around food. Presentation of food was nice. But the sushi itself was okay. The chicken noodles literally one bite and is 1/10. Overall, good if you’re already there.not worth the drive Prices are good
Anyway eating warm sushi had never seen. A little disappointed, not that it wasn't fresh but because it was poorly made, I don't remember eating warm sushi anywhere else which spoils the flavor.
The place is so chill and cozy.the sushi is AMAZING and cheap in regard to the portion size and the taste.the staff is very friendly and very fast.tiger rolls are super and the chicken ramen too.highly recommended sushi place and would definitely visit again
I come to this place since the beginning. Alway the best sushi on the island. But visited this today again after a few weeks away from Bali. Got surprised they did change the menu and also the rolls did change. It was downgraded to untested rolls to much cream cheese and no tast. For me this was the last time that I visited Toro sushi. Sorry for the staff but somewhere they did take the wrong turn. Up to a new sushi in Ubud.
I was just walking by when I saw this place. To be honest I wasn’t expecting it to be that good. I already went twice and can’t wait to go back. I can really say it’s one of the best sushi spots in Ubud. I highly recommend it. The service is great, the food is fresh and so tasty. The prices are very correct and the portions are big! A must!
My partner has been here a couple of times but this was my first time here. I was a bit anxious after seeing some of the reviews but realistically you have to try things for yourself and make your own mind up.
The food that we ordered was really nice for the most part. It seemed to be relatively fresh and was presented well, anything that was meant to be hot or warm was served correctly and anything cold (e.g Ginger fizz, drinks) were nicely chilled.
Interestingly we initially ordered one serve of gyōza and they were fresh, very hot and delicious. During the meal we decided that they were so good that we would have another serve. These too were served piping hot but were really salty. It was certainly not as good as the first serve and left us wondering what had happened.
The pizza sushi was really good and the voodoo roll was overall pretty good however one of the pieces was served looking a bit roughly put together. I confess that I have never tried this voodoo roll before and I don't think that I would have it again, maybe it just didn't suit my palate.
Overall though, I would come back here again. It's a nice restaurant with friendly, helpful staff and a pleasant atmosphere. The music helps with the ambience, it's just at the right level to be heard but not interfering with your conversations etc.
Insanely good and fresh sushi. The chefs are all rolling and cooking in the downstairs but there is plenty of upstairs seating too. Would definitely come back here
Nice place to sit and relax from shopping in Ubud. Sushi is served with large pots of ginger and wasabi. The sushi is not the best in Bali, some roles where not closed properly. The taste was great.
Nice sushi restaurant in the center of Ubud. Stuff was friendly, presentation was great. Sashimi were amazing. What I didn’t liked: too much mayonnaise in sushi rolls, which was destroying the taste for me; also excessive sugar in juices. That’s why 4 stars
We were sat down by the staff and then completely ignored for 20min.they didn’t even bring us menus, even though they were looking at us and the manager was there in front of us. We just stood up and left and they didn’t say a thing.
Flying dragon was bomb! However the Japanese pizza was a disappointment. Way too doughy! Service is great and in a very central location. Happy hour 4-7, buy two special rolls and get one normal roll for free!
Dinner was good. Prices are pretty high for Bali, about 500k (~35$) for 2 persons. The majority of dishes were definitely tasty! Service and food serving rate were also good. I will recommend that place for all who loves sushi rolls.
We got assigned a table and then we were completely ignored for 15 minutes. They didn’t even bring us the menu. To be fair the restaurant was full, but we saw different waitresses passing by us and they didn’t even told us to wait or anything. We decided to leave, and they didn’t seem to even care.
Have been here two years ago and found it OK. However today a group of four of us went. The service was extremely slow, all four meals were cold and really not up to a standard we could enjoy. My Katsu chicken had more batter than chicken, my wife's okonomiyaki was overly floury (and cold) to the extent she couldn't finish. Thoroughly disappointed even after after speaking to the manager. Will definitely not go there again on future holidays.
Limited choices as they were out of salmon and avocado when I went (REALLY disappointing). Open air seating was super hot and not really enjoyable. Staff were just stood around and weren’t very engaging. Overall, a sad experience. Wouldn’t return.
Enjoyed the good and fresh sushi. The local wine was surprisingly good and so were the lemonade and ginger fizz. The prices are reasonable but be aware the 15 % is added to the final bill.
Edit: went here a second time last night and it's still very good. I recommend making a reservation as the place gets quite busy. I booked through Facebook two hours before dinner and they got back to me with a confirmation in no time. Class.
Love this place! Sushi is one of the best I have eaten. Very big portion (10 pieces). Can be crowded inside, cause everyone in Ubud wanna to eat this tasty yummy rolls ️
