Our favorite warung in the same street, we lived for a month, so we managed to try a large part of the dishes. But the Mie goreng special (noodles) charmed us the most. I don't know what they put in them, but they have always been excellent.
We didn't even plan to go to this warung originally. Something didn't seem right to us. But since the establishment we were headed to one evening was closed, we decided to visit here. And it was worth it. During the time we were in Ubud, we tried most of the dishes on offer. Amazing chicken, great noodles and rice, great flavored Sate Ayam. The service is also very pleasant. They are currently renovating the premises (November 2023), however they are still open a bit next door in the garden, where the atmosphere is absolutely amazing. If you're in this part of Ubud be sure to stop by and if you're not here, finish your meal:) you won't regret it.
I’ve stayed in Bali for 20 days and still not a big fan of Indonesian food so far, but in this place I found the most delicious Indonesian food in my life so far!
Delicious smoothies! The best since one week. The chicken curry so good. And the fried patatos very good Our friends recommend us this restaurant. They came twice…. We will do the same
The food is freshly made after you order and is very tasty. It’s an authentic and honest kitchen amidst those that target ‘hip’ tourists only and disappointed me. During my 3 weeks in Indonesia this was one of the most memorable and quality meals. The owner is very friendly and speaks English.
Sometimes the best option is the closest. Only three minutes walk from our accommodation (whereabouts secret, it’s just too good!) Very decent, friendly people who cook fresh local food at super-reasonable price.
This restaurant serves a very good home-made traditional indinesian cooking. Price is cheap, people are nice and plates are full! Do not hesitate to come!
French version: Ce restaurant sert une délicieuse cuisine indonésienne faite maison. Les prix sont très abordables, l’accueil est agréable, et les assiettes sont bien remplies. N’hésitez plus!
There were several vegetarian options, and they were tasty. We tried most of them during our stay in Ubud. This was a good place near our accomodation.
This beautiful restaurant was next to my hostel and the dishes were delicious, the prices are really good, everyone there is so kind and helpful. By the way a really good price for a large bintang. Enjoy)
We were here to have dinner with friends who eat here a lot and they had raved about how good the food is. We were keen to try it as we like to find good local warungs that don't just dish out westernised versions of Indonesian food. Maybe my expectations were too high, maybe I'm too fussy about what is or isn't traditional food, maybe I should have known better when I saw a place full of westerners.
The spring rolls were nice, the sauce had a little zing to it (and I mean little), they were fresh and hot which I really enjoyed. I had the ayam bakar for my main meal and it was nice enough but where was the kick? Not even a hint of chilli and no sambal on the side! Yikes. A lack of good sambal for a classic Warung dish of ayam bakar is pretty much a sign that the place caters mainly to the palate of westerners that want some flavour but no kick.
So I'm not saying that the food or the place is bad, but some reviewers saying "it's the best food in Bali" obviously steer clear of more traditional places that are full of locals. The food was nice, the owners are nice, the restaurant is nice.but where's the sambal? ! I was seriously torn between the 3 and 4 stars.
Delicious Balinese food and our best meal in Ubud. We had the gado gado, the ayam goreng with sambal mateh, and the ayam bakar. The sauces were home made, the food was fresh, and the chef came out to meet each of the guests. This is a lovely little family run restaurant away set across from a community centre and a soccer field; nice to relax away from the main tourist strips:) Highly recommended and we will go back on our next trip. To get there from Monkey Forest Road, we took the pedestrian/motorbike path that runs parallel to the Monkey Forest park.
