Wayan Restaurant Tulamben

I accidentally discovered the store while strolling along the roadside at night. I thought it was pretty good.
1. Food: I ordered a lot, and everyone has different tastes. Some of them are delicious (barbecue), while others are ordinary (braised in soy sauce).
2. Drink: The milkshake is very thick and great.
3. There is a cool breeze when dining on the second floor. It is too dark nearby and I can’t see the scenery. Maybe the scenery is good during the day.
4. It would be even better if you could differentiate between smoking and non-smoking areas.

Nice location with a great view of the volcano. Selection on the menu is okay. Taste is rather average.
Prices are okay for the area.

I've been here several times for their buffet breakfast. Very nice layout at a very reasonable price. Fruit, omelets, and various sides they rotate every day. Excellent quality, and the servers are very friendly.

Delicious food for a very good price. The fried banana with vanilla ice cream completed the meal. Delicious.

Very good restaurant, very varied menu, generous and well-cooked dishes, it has a terrace with great views, we will return!

I ordered the chicken satay and fish curry. The food was disappointing in every way except serving size. I had a much better experience in the other places around, recommend avoiding this one.

I think after trying a few resto here. This is by the far the best one.

No 10% service fee for bill. The fried chicken must eat (super crispy, tender, breast meat), as the food portion for Indonesian is usually small but this is quite big portion.

Pork not so good. Hard to chew.

Has a beautiful second floor with a great view of Mount Agung. We went there about 6.30pm and has the wonderful view. The food was quite a large portion - I ordered the special fried noodles and halved the portion to takeaway.

Our first lunch here was actually pretty okay. The satay tempeh tasted good. Our second visit we got a ton of bugs in our salad, one of which was alive and happily walking on the leaves of the lettuce. They didn’t even apologize to us, or offer us something in exchange for the inconvenience. Then, we ate satay tempeh again, served with 8 (!) pieces of fries. I don’t understand why would they spare on the fries, the cheapest item of the whole dish? ! We paid full price for everything and went to eat elsewhere right after this experience.

If you come to tulamben, spend some time to eat at this place. Local owner, the food is delicious and at the right price.

Great food and service. Love the grilled prawns and tuna fish. Fresh seafood, they get it daily and they also have some specials like fish betutu which you can preorder a day before. Nice views of Mt agung.

Edit: Went back next day for our preordered the Fish Tutu (basically like ayam betutu) where fish is stuffed with spices. Absolutely huge Tuna for 190k as you can see in last pic. Fit for at easily 3 pax. You need to preorder this as the owner gets the fish in the morning market. Tuna or Mahi Mahi usually available. Their garlic butter sauce is lovely (non spicy alternative to the chilli shallots).

A small liltle warung tat serve food to hungry diver, dont expect to be great, just can fill ur tummy full.

I came here every day while I stayed in Tulamben, and every time I was greeted with the warmest welcome, all the staff are fantastic. Plus, I can’t recommend the papaya milkshake enough! One of the best drinks I’ve had in the whole of Bali, I don’t know how they do it! Definitely worth a visit:)

Lovely rooftop dining. Food was very mediocre but large portions. Felt a bit sick after. Normally pork in a pork curry is sliced really thin and wide. And gets really soft. The pork in the curry was not edible. Curry quite flavorless. The sweet and sour chicken was quite strange.

Big portions of tasty Balinese food. I'm so sad we only ate here on our last night in Tulamben as we would have come back for sure. I had the tempe satay with potatoes, a huge filling meal after a long day of diving. They're open late too if you're night diving, we arrived at almost 9pm.

If you are in Tulumben you must come here for dinner to watch sunset! The view on the terrace is unvelievable! The food is nice, prices are great! We were coming every evening while here:)

Variasi makanan yang cukup banyak dari makanan lokal ataupun makanan western. Sayangnya saat ramai, pelayanannya lumayan lama. Tapi keseluruhan ok.

The owner Mr Wayan is very friendly and a hard-working boss.

His roof top terrace (the only one along this stretch) is THE place to watch Gunung Agung for sunset and in the morning.

If you are prepared to walk about 2km heading north (8°15'32.9"S 115°34'38.2"E), you'll be rewarded with awesome view of G Agung.

We ate here every day, sometimes twice! The tempeh satay was so delicious. Fried rice and curry also very good. Good vegetarian options. It was such a wholesome, filling meal, perfect for post dive!

Good ambience with panoramic view. The food was hit and miss. Some of them are very good. There are lots variety though!

We visited Tulamben post-covid time, May 2022. That being said, not much restaurant option available around the place where we stayed (at Tauch Terminal Resort). We found Wayan Restaurant by recommendation as well. And turns out it is beyond expectation. The food taste is amazingly good. You can also check with them if they have a fresh-catch fish of the day.
They have the best view of Mount Agung right from their panoramic deck.

Strong reviews were not matched by experience.big menu and not a lot of choices in Tulamben.maybe the fresh fish of the day would have been a better choice.

Deliciousness, lovely owner, sambal matah to die for and scrummy pasta and a lovely waiter. Definitely worth visiting. I particularly loved the big yellow-eyed koi in the pond, his name is George and he likes watching.

Makanannya enak, Pak Wayan Baik dan Ramah. Banyak informasi yg bisa saya dapatkan dri Pak Wayan mengenai lokasi yg bagus di daerah Karangasem.

-Panoramic view at 2nd floor, with spectacular Mt. Agung view
-Freshly made cooking
-Extensive menu, even during pandemic, they didn't narrow the menu down like other places
-Delicious! (We always eat our lunch there during our 5 days stay in Tulamben)
-BIG portion
-Fair Price (around 50K for 1 delicious meal with a big and satisfying portion)
-Fast service

PS: the fish steaks are kinda addictive:)

Very recommended, despite the current situation with most places closed they keep their spirit and quality up. We had a grilled fish and a pepes ikan (steamed with traditional herbs), both tasted very yummy and fresh, also a big portion coming with rice and vegetables. The iced ginger is also a nice drink as well as iced lemon. The Bali coffee is as authentic, but you have to be used to it to fully enjoy:) They also have a fantastic panoramic view on Mt Agung on the 2nd floor

The best steamed fish I have ever tried! Highly recommend this place for visiting and eating very tasty dishes.

Simple and very tasty.
Especially fried rice noodles with fish and steamed fish with rice and veggies. Nice for people that like healthy food in balinese style.
