I've been a loyal customer since 2019! Before I got married to my husband, married and now 5 months pregnant we would always always and always come back here! My favorite is the gyubarayaki teshoku! The Japanese chef, Mr. Takahashi san is really friendly and nice. This restaurant is the best in JAKARTA! It tastes really authentic and the price isn't that expensive, it is really clean as well compared to the other restaurants in blok M I've ever been to! めっちゃ大好き

The beer is ice cold and delicious!
Ordered the sushi platter. The amount is enough for three parents and children to eat deliciously.
Chikuwa Isobe Fried Chicken is my favorite dish, so I wanted to try more of it.
I wish there was more of a children's menu.
And the appetizer is not good, so I hope they reconsider.

Kaihomaru teisyoku and chicken katsu curry rice. Quite happy with the taste and u get complimenfary coffee jelly

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Melawai. When you step in the restaurant you feel like you are instantly transported to Japan. The food is all delicious and fairly priced. I recommend ordering their sweet tamago, agedashi tofu, and their scallop mushroom butter.

Authentic Japanese dishes! The restaurant is small but fortunately not too packed with people. I came here on Saturday night for dinner. And I also noticed that they have private rooms, but have too book in advance. Didn’t take much time for them to prepare all food that we ordered.

Sayang banget karena pembatas antara smoking room dan non smoking tidak ada partisi atau sekat. Jadi kita yg di non smoking bisa mencium asap rokok dari tempat sebelah. Makanan enak. Harga tertera tidaklah mahal karena 1 porsi bisa untuk berdua (porsi standar).

Little Tokyo in Jakarta is in Melawai. There is so much history in the area with Japanese expats, food and culture. Many Japanese restaurants here are owned by.wait for it … Japanese. Kaihomaru is an old establishment that has been popular by locals and expats, you can expect fresh sashimi and sushi. Authentic Japanese dishes. Private rooms are available, please make a reservation to secure your room. Service is excellent. Try their moriawase, fish are vary from time to time. Premium fish and cuts are rare, you should ask the chef what’s good for today. Price is decent, similar to other Japanese establishment in the area. Parking spot is a bit hard to find on the weekends. Wave your 10K to parking-maester (the one with blue uniform) then you’re in a good hand. I haven’t tried their sake but you can bring your own with a corkage. If not, Bintang/Bali Hai is a must to wash your pain from working your arse off. Itadakimasu.

We love eating here, food is good, sashimi is relatively fresh and our favorite is chirashi teisyoku or sashimi teisyoku. Service is quite friendly and fast as well

Authenticity Japanese food. The chef is a Japanese. Saba fish is my favorite. My family always come here to have casual dinner. They have a vip room which can be open into big space for occasion. The niku tempura also delicious. Always come back every week.

Their specialties are shashimi, i recommend to order shashimi, the fish always fresh! If you dont eat raw fish, you can also order others such as don or teriyaki.

Vibenya Jepang banget, ada banyak konsumen ekspat Jepang juga. Rasanya enak, hidangan pun fresh, salmon, cumi dan lainnya enak.cuma harga memang agak mahal ya.

Dekorasi Jepang dengan rasa yang enak banget. Saya pilih menu set barachurashi sushi teisyoku, isinya pakai nasi dengan sashimi potong bentuk dadu + miso soup. Saya ini bedua habisinnya.haha. Sebelum main course diberi appetizer sayur dingin dan salad. Suami saya pesan Nigirisushi twisyoku + miso soup dan pesan gyutan negishioyaki (lidah). Berdua sekitar 350rban.

One of the best place for Japanese food in Jakarta especially for their sashimi, tempura and unagi. Cozy and private place for business or family dinner or lunch. Some materials are air flown from Japan fresh twice a week.

Good authentic Japanese restaurant. Some said that this is one of the oldest Japanese restaurants in Jakarta. The wasabi and pickled ginger served here are super! Sushi is nice and I love the Mentaiko Chazuke!

Nevertheless, it might be difficult to find parking lot in Melawai area during busy hours/weekend. Plus the waiter's service might be slow during lunch/dinner time so plan your visit.

I got the yakiniku, and advised the chef/owner that it rather smelled. He would not exchange the food and stated it was fresh but then stated it was frozen. Spoiled meat is not something to take lightly. Sadly, I paid for a meal I could not eat and he would not exchange the food. For the 5 years, I've lived in Jakarta, this was the first time I experienced such poor form from a Japanese restaurant. Poor form guys.

Salah satu tempat favorit untuk restoran Jepang asli. Ruangan nyaman untuk membawa anak kecil, tidak terlalu gelap, dan ada ruang privat. Rasa benar2 authentic, agak kurang cocok untuk yg lebih selera masakan Indonesia atau matang karena banyak pilihan sashimi dan rada yang tidak terlalu kuat.

Less selection in the menu than its now-closed Pondok Indah location, but still good food. My concern is that they don’t have non-smoking section. Parking is difficult in the evenings.

Aside from their various kind of sashimis, the restaurant served home cooked styled authentic japanese food. Tastes amazing, tried their Saba and satisfied. The skin is crispy, the fish meat is still juicy and buttery, yum.

Compared to Japan's standard as far as I know of.
Tried the salmon Toro sashimi, hot soba, fried soft shell crab, agedashi tofu, grilled salted squid. All for rp. 300.000 as of August 2019
Dashi: lacks depth and aroma of both konbu and Bonito.
Tofu sauce taste like too much fish sauce
Soba lacks the aroma
Salted squid is a bit fishy
Sashimi is fresh kinda (1-2 days old I think) but lacks the sweetness
Overall I gave 3 due to the fact that it's decent at that price.

One of the best sushi place in town. Fish so fresh you'll come back for more. Their tuna belly is so yummy, it melts in your mouth. Their lunch package is really affordable, sashimi is on the pricier side but so worth it! They close after lunch over, so you might want to go before 2. In the midst of many Japanese restaurant in the area.this one definitely stuck out.service was ok, friendly but just fine.
