Pempek Apy specializes in selling the savoury fishcake originated from Palembang, South Sumatra. The dish is eaten by dipping the fishcake into a spicy and sour black sauce - a mixture of vinegar, grounded dried shrimp, finely chopped spicy red chilly, garlics, shallots, rock sugar, grounded dried shrimp, water, and Javanese tamarind. It is served with some cucumber slices.
The speciality here is Pempek Panggang (grilled fishcake filled with spicy chilly and grounded dried shrimps). It also offers Lenggang (squarish fishcake coated with fried egg) and Tekwan (soupy and sourish smallish fish dumplings). The shop owner came from Plaju, South Sumatra province where it is famous for Pempek Palembang.
The usual items offered here are Pempek Kapal Selam (big size fish cake with egg yolk egg), Adaan (little round bouncy fried fishcake), Pistel (fishcake with shredded young papaya), Keriting (pasta-like fishcake), Otak-otak (grilled fishcake with coconut milk wrapped in banana leaf), and Lenjer (small fishcake cube).

Pempeknya enak, ikannya kerasa. Disini banyak banget tipe pempeknya. Sayangnya, kuahnya agak kemanisan di lidah saya meskipun sudah ditambahi sambalnya.
