Banana Homestay

We really enjoyed our time at Banana Homestay. The whole accommodation is outstandingly clean, with a quiet atmosphere. There are three toilets and three showers for four rooms, so it almost felt like having private bathrooms. The family is very kind and even organizes tours to Ijen and around the area. We already booked our tour before we selected our accommodation so we did not use this service but when we came back from Ijen we were greeted with a very good breakfast. In the evening we ordered food which they freshly prepared with vegetarian and vegan options available. The host even brought us to our next stop Red Island Beach for a reasonable price. Thank you!

The host/hostesses were super helpful and friendly. We stayed 2 nights, of which we climbed Mount Ijen during night 1. When we came back at 8: 30 am, a delicious breakfast was ready, consisting of toast with egg
, lots of fresh fruit and tea/coffee. You can have your laundry done by the host and they can also arrange transport to Banyuwangi harbour. The room was small but fine, air conditioning worked well and the showers and toilet were clean.

Fryda and Imron are very nice and considerate. They are good advisers and organized the tour to Ijen and transport to Bromo for us at a very good price.
They advised us well during our 2-night stay and we were also able to take advantage of a visit to friends of theirs to shop for local products at prices 10 times less at home than in France.

Jadi lumayan terbantu untuk explore banyuwangi.

Ada juga paket wisata city tour, baluran, alas purwo, pulau merah, de jawatan dan lain-lain. Kalau sendiri ada ojek, kalau beramai-ramai pun bisa pakai mobil. Servis dan hospilitynya sangat oke dan memuaskan.

Fryda is very helpful, prepared extra vegan breakfast for us and took us on a sightseeing tour of the city.
We were also able to easily book the tour to the Ijen volcano through the accommodation.gladly come back:)

Very good starting point for mount ijen (about 45 minutes) they can rent you scooters or put you in touch with guides. It's a very nice family and the breakfast is top notch.

A cozy and comfortable little Homestay!
The owners will do everything to make you feel good and they are there for any questions or need for organization! We stayed there only one night to climb to the top of Mount Ijen but I would have stayed a few more nights!

With my friend Alaeddine, we spent a night with Imran and his family even though we didn't have a reservation. It must be said that they have always been there for information or advice, Imrane manages to drop you off with his mini van in the city with an unbeatable price.
The whole family was present and it only made us feel even more at ease with their hospitality and kindness.

Owners are super friendly and kind! The are like family! Went to there family village. Arranged my trip to Kawah Ijen and brought me to station for my next trip. Have laundry and massage service.

Hoomi banget.hotelnya sederhana hanya beberapa kamar bener bener rumah tinggal, belum jadi tanpa fasilitas hotel berbintang tapi menyenangkan banget.bisa ngobrol dgn tamu lain serasa ngobrol di rumah

The room is very nice but it's the owners who really make this place great. A husband and wife team who took me to Ijen and back on their motorbike then to the train station afterwards for a very reasonable price. (They have a car too) I'd definitely recommend staying here as a base for visiting Ijen independently.

We stayed at this place during our road trip to Lombok.
The bad:
- no AC so it could get quite hot but you’ll get a fan that helps a bit.
The good:
- the place is clean and comfy. Not shiny clean as in five-star hotel clean but clean enough you’ll feel comfortable.
- we had Indonesian breakfast and it was very very good. Could be the best we’ve had in a budget accommodation.
- the host is very helpful in arranging our transportation to Ijen. We had a great trip at a very reasonable price.
- location is near city center, easy to find food. But you can order food in this homestay if you don’t want to go out.
- there’s a stove you can use to make your own coffee or even to cook food.

Definitely best place to stay in Banyuwangi (or even Indonesia?). Everything is clean and it's a relaxing atmosphere. The place is decorated very creatively and interesting. The hosts Fryda and Imron are the most friendly and helpful people I've met on my journey here and will make you feel very welcome in their home right from the time you arrive at their door step.

(also they make great sandwiches for breakfast)

The most helpful and friendly host I've ever met. You'll enjoy having a chitchat them. Very recommended for those who want to come to Banyuwangi. They offer several tours, too! Ijen crater tour, city tour, beach tour, they can arrange the trips for you with affordable prices either for group or solo traveler.
