Nice cooking presentation with several courses from appetizer until desert. Delicious good quality Japanese teppanyaki. We were in a group of several friends, we enjoyed the lunch in a private room. Nice ambience. Elegant Marriott hotel in the center of Surabaya.

Pros: tersedia meja khusus untuk teppanyaki, pelayanan cukup cekatan dan ramah, rasa makanan cukup enak, menu makanan jepang yg cukup lengkap (sashimi, teppan set, ramen/udon/soba, tempura dan lainnya).

Saran: ocha kurang pekat, harga termasuk mahal.

Pelayan yg di depan pintu sangat buruk, sy datang duluan nanya2 ke mba nya. Posisi saya masih bicara dan bertanya malah menyambut meriah tamu rombongan lain. Saya ditinggal gitu aja kyk orang bodoh yg dikira ga bakal beli kali ya Baru pertama kali ke restoran bintang 5 servicenya very very bad. Sy datang tgl 29 januari 2023 jam 19.15

Imari Japanese Restaurant is one of the many restaurants inside the JW Marriott hotel Surabaya.

There are quite a few dishes I have tried:
1. Shake Chazuke - It is simply rice topped with salmon bits and soaked in the broth. The broth was light tasting but yet still tasty. It is a good choice if you want a lighter meal.

2. Mushroom cooked in Butter - Mushroom of your choice (depending on availability) cooked in butter with garlic. It is very tasty and good when eaten with rice.

3. Renkon Chips - Lotus roots are sliced thinly and then deep fried. It’s quite good as a snack.

4. Chef’s Selection Sashimi - Three fishes - salmon, tuna, and pomfret - are in the platter. The salmon and tuna are of the leaner cuts. The pomfret was quite good — no fishy taste.

It was a bit difficult to communicate with service and chef in English.
Very tasty food, although the service was a bit chaotic
900000 was a bit much for food.
We also didn't get all the varieties that were on the menu

Pretty good experience dining here! But honestly the best part was the last, which was the dessert. Banana and ice cream, really good very much refreshing after all the meat and savoury dishes. Thanks for such a good dinner.

Imari @ JW Marriot, one of the better japanese restaurant in surabaya. They serve teppanyaki, great ingredients, tasty cooking. Lots of people do birthday dinners here, and the cheers and singing from the staff is fun.

Compare with price that we paid (1.4 mio/person), not worthy!
We had set of teppanyaki dinner with guests from the Netherlands, the quality of the food ingredients looks fresh and good, but after cooked it taste not that fresh, it might be the seasoning or the way it cooked.
The chef was just busy cooking and less interaction with us, the only nice attraction we got is when he cooked ice cream with fire.
The place have calm and relaxing atmosphere, rooms is separated by thin wall so we can have privacy with our group.
We had sake which is mildly sweet, clean tasting drink with a well-balanced combination of astringent and savory flavor.

We had a team dinner. We choose teppanyaki.
The quality of the food was great. The chefs were only busy with the job, no interaction with the guests.
They served the food to fast. Not even enough time to finish the food, before the next was ready again.
So, the quality of the food was great, I and the team did not enjoy the total experience.

There is a large variety of Japanese foods in their menu - ranging from sashimi, sushi, to dons (rice boxes), as well as set menus.

One of my favorite set menu is the mixed seafood. In one set, you will be given rice, miso soup, salad, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), salmon, as well as prawn and scallop in butter sauce. The butter sauce is just very-very delicious - I have not found something like it anywhere else. The salmon, however, is cooked in a light teriyaki sauce, and well complements the fish.

There are also side dishes, which include raw-fish dishes (sashimi). They have a lot of fish, but during my time of visit, some of them were sold out. So, I decided to go for the salmon belly. It was good, but I would have wanted it to be more fatty instead.

Another good side dish is the enoki butter. It is just enoki but cooked with the butter sauce I mentioned earlier. So, just imagine the very-very delish butter sauce paired with enoki. Yums!

There are still a lot of things on the menu - so do come and try for yourself!

Celebrated a friend's birthday here. Makanan dan minumannya enak semua, chef-chefnya juga sangat entertaining, makan jadi seru. Untuk teppanyaki sepertinya lebih baik reservasi dulu karena cukup ramai, padahal acaranya saat weekday.

The food was great. But the services provided were even better. The person who served us was very interactive and polite. The manager also gave us a free trial drink, it was quite memorable.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Surabaya. Tried the grilled beef and salmon and they taste great. Prices are expectedly expensive but really worth it. The ambience is great and it has a superb luxurious interior. The waiter is also very polite and gives wonderful service. Very highly recommended.

Best sashimi! We ordered Imari Sashimi, supposed to be 12 different types of sashimi but they ran out of some. However they made it up by offering us some delicious Ogura ice cream!

Nice teppanyaki.very satisfying.taste is great, price is bit expensive but worthed.they are located on 2nd floor
