The food was laughably bad. We were 2 adults and a child, spent $120 or so, and yet had to go and buy calamari at a bar nearby to wash away the bland garbage dinner at this restaurant. Please don't spoil your visit by eating here. A local unknown seafood restaurant in Singapore will suffice.probably at 1/3 of the price.
Went on a Saturday evening Singapore school holiday. Not crowded. Walk in is fine. Food is ok and we spent 2mil for the food. Went there from Natra bintan via its taxi service. 360k rp for 2 way. Take away leftovers will cost you 25k rp.
Not only was the food satisfying, but the location and ambience were also something to experience in Bintan. The restaurant made an effort to make some parts of the restaurant Instagram-worthy, great for capturing memories with family and friends.
I didn’t try the floating bar at the extension from the restaurant.
My only feedback is the unsheltered toilet beside the restaurant entrance. It was raining when we were there and rushing to get to the toilet in the rain was not fun.
Ordered the: Braised Scallop Broth (Kind of like Fish Maw Soup) Seafood Tomyum Kangkong with Sambal Prawn with Salted Egg and Honey Kelong Crispy Chicken Beancurd with Crab Meat Sauce
Overall, the food was extremely fresh and well cooked, kudos to the chefs! The prices were reasonable for the quality and the salted egg with honey sauce is to die for; not too surfeiting and delicious. Just a warning that their “small” soup size is enough for 3 people, so do take note of that while ordering. Service was proactive and friendly. Drinks were well made, especially the alcoholic ones. Great scenery with seaside views and a picturesque sunset. Decent toilet amenities too. Will come back again given the chance.
It's the only restaurant that serve food that is slightly more justifiable for the amount paid for. The atmosphere is good and the floating bar next to the restaurant is a good spot for photo taking.
Two of us ordered 4 small size dishes. But the portion served was suprisingly generous. The small size dishes equivalent to Singapore Zi Char medium size portion in my opinion. We didn't finish the fried rice and Veg dish. Both taste average.
The sea food omelette and salted egg honey prawns were very good and very generous with the seafood ingredients. Prawns skin were removed.
No complain about the service.
Total spent about SGD70+ in total. It's not cheap but at least have decent standard and portion is generous.
Best experience. Lovely restaurant, placed on pillars inside the water. The place has a superb atmosphere with Chinese relaxing music and with the view! Time your dinner at sundown if you can. The waiters are absolutely professional, always near to see what you are missing but never too close. Also very very kind of course. The dishes are amazingly tasty. Do not miss this place during your stay nearby.
Overpriced. There is not much of the Indonesian cuisine, It looks more Chinese to be honest. Lack of flavour in the prawn noodles I ordered. Prawns were frozen, tasteless, chewy, for 35 dollars I was expecting something better. Location is pretty.
In general, all the activities in Bintan are very expensive, same cost than in Australia. I felt like an ambulant ATM, ripped off!
Food was decent, service was really good as well. Ambience was nice with a wide seaview, especially during sunset. Just one minus point was the pricing, you can easily spent 50+Sgd per pax here. Even though I just ordered 4 small dishes and 2 drinks the bill almost came to a hundred dollars Sgd.
Aside from the price, which is quite normal for a tourist restaurant, the food is good. We ate the deep fried garoupa with superior sauce and some other seafood. It’s really delicious. Definitely gonna comeback again when i visited bintan.
The deep fried garoupa in superior sauce was delicious and deserves its own mention. But really food overall was good and importantly, FRESH. And what really got me was the amazing ambience - just look at the photos! Its a kelong sure but it's a really really fine one!
They even have a floating bar off the kelong restaurant! (Pictured)
While a bit pricey, the seafood comes in large portions and is fresh straight from the kelong. It's not air conditioned, but thankfully there are plenty of ceiling fans. Dimly lit, though. It can get noisy if full, so I recommend coming a bit earlier and time yourself for a sunset dinner.
Recommended by my sister in law, we took a cab from our villa to this kelong restaurant at 150,000 rupiah. We took some photos of the sunset outside the restaurant, too bad when we are there the seaside bar is under going renovation, or else we can take some more photos at the bridge. The kelong restaurant is big with many tables, thought customers not much but food serving is slow. Food is slightly expensive but we ordered quite a lot. We have ordered 2 crabs, fried chicken, egg, vegetable and toufu. Our total bill about 2 million, although the food is expensive, but it is delicious. Overall ambient is great, seafood are fresh, highly recommended to visit, many varieties in the menu.
Kelong Restaurant is run by the Nirwana Gardens resorts. That should already hint to you that this place is overpriced.
If you are a vegetarian, there might seem to be a few options here but be ready to eat really bland food. We tried the vegetarian fried rice, sea coconut dessert, honeydew sago dessert and a couple of mocktails. The food was average in taste and the price was exorbitantly high.
You wallet will be squeezed for the unique ambiance only. The restaurant sits on the ocean on support beams. At night, with all the lights on, the hut-like structure of the restaurant looks magical like something out of Spirited Away.
There is a bridge/pier that leads from the restaurant to the Calypso bar which is also on the water. The bar seemed fully equipped to meet your alcohol needs including a small toilet. The jazzy neon decor of the tiny bar makes for good pictures at night.
Food was pretty decent but felt that it wasn’t worth the price! Two of us had ordered 5 small dishes (including one mee) and the bill amounted to $100 SGD each dish was definitely overpriced.
Good food, good view. They keep their seafood fresh in their own catchment area. The black pepper Crayfish is excellent. Sambal Belachan Kang Kong is chock-full of fragrant chilli dried prawns. All the dishes we ordered are delicious and flavourful. Recommended to visit!
Went there on Sunday during lunch time and was informed that crabs were sold out. Disappointed. Funny thing is, the entire restaurant wasn't even packed. Maximum 5 occupied tables only.
Super YUMMY food! I was satisfied with all.of the dishes. However they were a bit pricy even you know it's a restaurant for tourists. If the number of your group is above 3 then ordering 4+ small dishes is fine, if not then 3 small dishes should be enough otherwise might be waste as the serving is quite plenty. Btw, Gong Gong, local conch is must order, very juicy and yum.
Had a meal while I stayed at the Canopi. A mini bus can be arranged at the cost of 450,000 IDR. Food is fresh and service is good. You can pick your live seafood yourself.
