The Best frog porridge in town. Cant find it anywhere else. Bubur ya beneran enak gaes. Masaknya menggunakan Hot pot. Sangat menggugah selera. Jika tidak suka makan kodok, juga banyak menu lainnya, Hot pot chickennya juga enak.
Ordered one plain porridge, two spicy frogs and two fruit juices (carrot+papaya milk and kedondong aka balonglong+plum). The food was appetising and savoury! Really enjoyed the food! Fruit juices were really fresh as well~
When I arrived an sat down, there's no sign of the shopkeeper, after waiting for a minutes I can saw one of the employee notice me, but she doesn't even come out to offer the menu or similar thing like that.
Totally ignored me.
The inside shope is not even crowded, only me and 2 other visitor that already ate their food.
So I need to walk to pick up the menu by myself.
Actually I want to order frog porridge, but while looking at the menu list, there's no price list. Which made me afraid what if when doing payment I need to pay more than the actual price.
So I was only ordering food that has price liat shown.
The taste is normal, I forgot what rhe name but it is a porridge with pitan egg.
The service is poor. Would not come back here nor recommend to my friend or colleague
Tempat makan bubur yg okee.selain bubur ad yg lain jg.enak semua.kodok ny jd menu utama, sy pesan kodok goreng, minta goreng lebih kering lg.kl kodok ny tipe yg lebih kecil lg, goreng kering enak bisa sama tulang2 ny dimakan, sayang disini kodok ny lumayan besar, tp enak jg berisi sekali daging ny.lalu yg sy pesan ayam bakar sayar, ini jg enak, potongan sayap ny besar, bumbu bakar meresap.syg sy ga ada foto.
We waited more than an hour for just one porridge and one dish of frog. Tables outside were surrounded by mosquitoes. Waiters seem unable to understand English, since they were confused about our order all the time. In the end, we paid for IDR90k for a small dish of frog and IDR30k for one porridge, as the price was not shown on the menu and waiters couldn't say the price. The food was not bad here, but the experience spoilt our mood.
But price is not cheap. Comparable to Singapore. Menu have no price. (Tapi harganya mahal. Hapir sama kayak di Singapore. Menunya ngak ada harga.)
In Singapore you will see a whole frog leg. Here, everything is diced. More bones than meat. (Makan di Singapore, masih bisa lihat kaki kodok yang utuh. Di sini, semuanya dicincang. Banyakan tulang dari pada daging.)
LEBAM BAKAR BUMBU KUNING. Most renowned menu all around Batam. Most of grilled fish in Batam will using this sauce. You can taste a lot of spices inside this sauce that we cannot mentioned one by one due to our limited knowledge. To make it easier, imagine any grilled fish with yellow sauce, double your expectation, and that what you will get from Old Place. . LEBAM BAKAR BUMBU EBI. Red hot in color and savory from the huge amount of ebi used in the making.not spicy at all, you can expect more savory flavor from this sauce. The ebi were perfectly cooked and blended really well with the chili. The talented chef Ms. Joe Lim is very generous in this sauce, because for every fish you order, you will get extra ebi sauce on your plate!
