Saffron Restaurant - Bintan

This would be 5 stars if the food was less sweet/sugary and more authentic flavours.
Very hospitable staff and delightful presentation. Take the buggy to the resto as it is perched on rather steep slopes. This gives a lovely view in the daytime.

I was there with my husband when we are on holiday at Bintan
We ordered their lotus degustation on the menu that I believe was 6/7 courses but they served a few more appetisers before the start.
Overall fantastic service with attentive servers except we do felt overall it has a lot more citrus component than anticipated in the whole meal
We started with shots of tumeric ginger honey and lime.
The rice and oat crackers with sauces are great. The satay and chicken wrap in the appetisers nice as well, the calamari was ok.
Grilled duck breast salad is great, the amount of parsley in the might be intimidating but it taste great.
Seabass soup is slightly too sour, might wanna try it before adding the squeeze of lime.
The mains are served at the same time. The fried king prawn was good except the tamarind sauce is too overpowering for me. The beef green curru is great, I like the use of coconut flesh in this, the beef is ok, infact I initially mistook it for chicken breast.
The rice that goes with the mains were served as table service, the concept is great but the rice was slightly disappointing, the taste was too subtle and some of the rice grains were dry and tough (like the ones that were scrap from bottom of rice cooker).
Dessert was mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream.
At this point, the amount of sticky rice became overwhelming. Both me and my husband felt soo full by the end of this.

Fantastic food, very friendly service. I love the greeting from the kitchen, the crackers with different sauces, 4 different types of rice to choose from. Probably the best Thai food I've ever had. It's a shame that I would have to beam there from Germany to be able to eat there again!

Satisfaction beyond expectations

This is a restaurant where you can be very satisfied with the food that exceeds your expectations. The staff's recommended appetizers, such as satay and soft shell crab, are all delicious and come in a large portion, so I highly recommend them. Whether it's the green curry or the signature curry-flavored chicken barbecue, they all taste delicious and look good.

It's a restaurant in a hotel, so it's not cheap, but it's more satisfying than the price, so it's a restaurant you should definitely go to when staying at a hotel.

Quiet and peaceful ambience, coupled with fantastic food and service.we ordered appetisers for 2, curry barbequed chicken and green curry vegetables.they were well done and delicious, especially the chicken dish.

For dessert, we had banana fritters and thai tea ice cream. A perfect ending to our meal!

overall slightly pricey but worth.highly recommended.

Very tasty food with interesting flavors (eg green tea creme brûlée or mango/mushroom salad). Lots of great options for vegetarians, at least if you order separate dishes instead of a set menu. Another feature I really liked was the possibility to choose between different kinds of rice offered by the Rice Master. Portions were also quite big. We split 3 main dishes and one dessert among two people. Worth visiting

Authentic thai dishes, great service. We enjoyed our dinner at Saffron. The papaya salad was tasty, the fried squid perfectly done. For your curry you can choose four different rice types and also mix them. Outside it's very windy, facing the ocean. So, it is better to sit inside.

The Signature restaurant at the banyan tree offers vreat thai cuisine and imepccable service
