Great place to eat and chill, enjoying the sunset. Good food and well priced. Highly recommended. Be aware, live music started around 9pm which can be quite loud.
Plenty of seafood and reasonable prices Recommended: Steamed sour plum/ginger crab Not recommended: black pepper (too salty) Fresh seafood! Mainly 4 cooking styles in chili sauce, black pepper, garlic fried or plain steam with plum/ginger. Recommend the plain steam crab with plum/ginger, but not the black pepper, too salty to my liking. Spent sgd 69 for this meal, I find the prices reasonable given the seafood sizes, freshness, cleanliness and taste. Sure, there's always a better/cheaper/tastier shop elsewhere, but this one is worth trying.
Recommended by the grab driver to try Wey Wey Seafood. Went out early and managed to avoid the crowd.
Service crew who took my order did not clarify the portion customer wants. He assumed customer wanted everything in medium size (as shown in the pictures)
Ordered salted fish fried rice, slated egg prawn, stir fried squid, stir fried clams, fried cereal craw fish and hot port stir fry egg tofu.
The best was fried cereal crawfish and on the contrary, the slated egg prawn sauce was cold and the prawn didn’t appear to be fresh and was rather small to begin with.
Notwithstanding the service crew attitude. It was not acceptable with no communication barrier.
Food was over priced. Not returning, not recommended.
I did not have a good dinner experience as expected. They were unable to manage well when there were so many filled tables. I had to remind them for white rice to be served three times. The dishes I ordered came and turned cold when the rice finally arrived. To me, that was very unacceptable and disappointing. The price I paid was really not worthy.
Good location with sea view. Big place that can accommodate many people. We tried 4 types of crab cooking styles including black pepper, chilli, salted egg, and ‘Gan Xiang’
I have been 8 years patronizing this food place. The location, the taste, the price and the services are good as always. It's really worthed it.the most favorite live and fresh seafood in Batam
Been here several times already, however I'd say that the food standard is not consistent.on my latest visit, the cereal prawns were small, and the salted egg sotong I ordered did not come with any salted egg sauce. The steamed seabass meat was also more on the tough side this round. Oh wells! Previous visit - the food was great. The upside to this place is that the food comes rather quickly. But there are other seafood places in Batam that are similarly priced and probably more consistent in taste.
The food quality here has deteriorated. The half chicken we ordered did not even look like half a chicken - just a wing, a small drum stick and a few slices of meat. The steam prawns were not cooked properly. The only saving grace were the vegetables dishes. Will give this place a miss from now onwards. A better place with better food and service will be at Love Seafood Batam
Suka kalau ke sini. Kenapa nggak bintang 5, karena pelayanannya lelet. Ok saya bisa maklum karena rame banget, tapi kalau sampai 5 kali diingatin tidak datang juga ya gimana. Untung makanannya enak.
The chili crab too dry and not the taste we expected. It should have some gravy. The buns we bought to deep into the chilli crab, was of no use at all. The small squid is also not properly done. It was not crispy at all. It was more like chewing a rubber. I think, because of their popularity, they short change customers on the quality. I will never patronize the restaurant again. Dissapointed! Singapore.
The food is so-so. Frankly, if you don't mind and rather have cheap seafood (no lobster) with limited sauce/style, here's the place. Would personally recommend the salted egg crab over the chili crab.
Overrated seafood place. Food was average and waiting time was horribly long. Waiter didn't seem apologetic for making us wait so long. Won't recommend.
This place would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for how disorganised they were as well as the long wait. While I understand its crowded it would have been great if they knew what I actually ordered.
I came in at around 7pm and had to get off my seat and get someone to take my order, this took a good 5 times to finally get someone at our table.
10 min pass and we got our drinks, also when they say bottle they meant 1 liter and not 500ml which I assume how it should have been.
30 mins passed no sign of food then our main dish arrived the pepper crab which we never ordered. Given the long wait me and my friend just couldn't be bothered to get it changed. Another 20 mins passed and from now every 5 mins a dish comes to our table that isn't ours. We had to ask them what is this? And the staff would ask us oh you didn't order this? Duh.
Finally all our dishes came but wait, we don't have rice and again we had to go around a few staff just to get rice.
After we were done we had to wait once again at the counter just to pay. To be honest at one point I just wanted to walk away and not pay since no one at the counter was bothered when we were standing right in front.
Seriously how hard is it to be organised and know what people actually ordered vs.coming up with random dishes asking if we ordered it? How annoying is that?
If you able to own such a large space to serve food then you should also be able to upgrade at least to have more technology to assist you. Stop using papers to take orders and then keep going to your customers asking if they ordered this and that. It's 2019 for goodness sakes.
Get a tablet or something to ease orders at least. Check or uncheck if dishes have been served or not. Isn't that a lot easier?
Their price is cheap if you convert it to sgd. We only pay $22sgd for one chili crab, got shells, and veg. All their seafood tasted fresh and thier chili crab sauce is brilliant, but the kangkong is a little under seasoned. One big bottle of Bintang only 36,000idr.
It located near the beach. The food taste good but priceeyyyy. Many tourists come here to enjoy seafood. If you are lucky, the sky is clear, you can see Singapore from here
2nd time to Batam and Wey Wey, much better experience.
Ordered 5 dishes and drinks for 2 people and only cost 550 000 rupiah, very good deal. I think it is cheaper than eating in Malaysia but the taste is slightly more Malay style then Chinese zi char.
Made the mistake of ordering tea with milk and end up having very sweet instant milk tea from powder.
We’ve eaten here a few times and somehow found that the price has risen since then. The food wasn’t too bad but I felt it was pricey for the quality. I’ll be exploring other restaurants in future. They open for lunch too. Ambience wise, it’s windy but it can smell because the bay area is polluted. I’ve never seen such black seawater anywhere else. Suggest you pick your own fish and crab from the tank and make sure you ask about the prices as they are not printed on the menu. Crab salted egg style and steamed fish HK style is my favourite there.
