Honestly just the best!

Jon, the owner, was prompt and helpful with communicating with me over email to get me set up with starting the Open water level 1 course just a few days later and helping me work out accommodation at their sister hostel (Broken Compass- also great!)

Lucky was my instructor for the course and I could not have had a better experience. He was very patient and always caring and checking that I was safe and comfortable. I had some anxiety and aborted a couple dives, and he was always there to talk to me and give me tips to help me feel safe. He was encouraging without putting any pressure, he genuinely wants everyone to experience the joy and tranquility that he experiences when he dives.

The entire Compass Dive staff and crew are amazing, kind and warm people. I felt so taken care of at all times.

I definitely plan to be back someday and feel confident to dive in other places with my certification!

Stayed at compass hostel for 4 nights, and had such an amazing time. The diving and snorkeling were so great, saw some amazing things, and met some great people. The instructors are amazing and willing to help you with everything. Lucky taught me how to burn my mask, and Ros tried to organise some other activities for me. Ika has an infectious personality and will also help you with everything from renting bikes to recommendations for other islands. All of the other staff are also very friendly and really make the effort to learn your name which makes everything feel so personal and familial. This has been our favourite place to stay in a month long trip so far. Thank you for everything

I highly recommend Divers Compass on Gili Trawangan! This hostel not only offers fantastic diving courses and certifications but also boasts the most friendly and kind staff. Furthermore, Gili Trawangan in general has a wonderfully chill atmosphere. The diving experience here is simply top-notch. If you're looking for a memorable diving adventure combined with a laid-back vibe, Divers Compass is the place to be.

These guys are phenomenal! Tried my first time ever diving and it went incredibly smoothly. The instructor is really kind, fun and considerate. We went on the morning shift for the up to 12m dive, and the highlights inclided loads of turtles, a few eels and a shark passing by. Diving is an incredible experience, and if you are a bit anxious like I was, rest assured that this is the place to try a beginner session. 10m is not at all claustro nor agorophobic, because visibiliy was perfect in all directions. I felt like I could keep going deeper without any fear. Pressure and ear pain was also not an issue at all fortunately. If you remain calm, listen to your instructor and place your trust in them you will have an absolute blast with Compass Divers in Gili T! (Unluckily I didnt manage to take photos of the dive itself, so I ve appended one of the view during the boat ride)

- I am almost a non-swimmer who never jumped inside a pool deeper than 5 feet.
- I cannot swim even a single length of a swimming pool in one go.
- I panicked twice while we were being trained inside the pool.

Now, imagine if a person like me can still do this, chances are you can also do this. And all the credit goes to my fabulous instructor "Lucky", who was holding my hand throughout the whole journey.

I even started to panic just a little bit inside the ocean while feeling pressure on my ears but the techniques told by my instructor helped me alot. And he also signalled me to look in his eyes and told me how to relax.

Coming to the good parts, I thought I won't even last more than 5 mins but I completed the whole dive by staying 40 mins inside the water. I was able to spot many turtles of different sizes, countless varieties of fish (Nemo also). And yes, a baby shark too. Don't worry they are harmless and are scared by us.

I visited multiple diving schools including the most popular "Manta Dive", before choosing this one. Can recommend to anyone without any doubt. Thanks again to Compass divers for giving me a lifetime experience. Much love.

Best dive center on Gilis. The staff is so friendly, fun and welcoming, we really felt at home even though we stayed in another place. The dives were great, we just did two but saw sharks, seaturtles, rays, and so much more. 100% would recommend to anyone.

Hands down the best scuba diving center on the island. The best staff i ever had. Everybody is sooo friendly and professional. Thanks alot guys and see you soon!

Got my open water divers license at Compass divers. I would definitely recommend this place. The staff is very kind and helpful. Lucky is the nicest diver instructor. Very calm and always making sure you're fine while diving.

Compass is a typical dive hostel. I was not in dive mode but really enjoyed it here for 3 days.
The hostel is clean. The hosts are friendly and helpful. A simple and good breakfast with pancakes and fruit.
The hostel is centrally and perfectly located in the back street off the main street and the rooms are quiet at night.

This hotel was super fab! Stayed here for 3 nights in June 2022 and was absolutely blown away by how friendly and helpful the staff were:) if you’re looking for a chill diving hostel that’s not so much a party hotspot Compass Divers is 4 u. Also got a discount on our accommodation when we dived with them - not only was the diving instructor Lucky the best dude ever but he took us to some great dive sites and was slay to dive with. Rooms were cozy but had everything you could need, and the hostel itself is located super close to the hubub of the East side of the island. All in all go stay here?

Really nice stay at compass, the staff is extreamely friendly and helpfull. We did snorkeling with them and he had a perfect time with the turtles with the help of the crew. The staff even showed us around by bike for the sunset

Very happy to have chosen Compass Divers for our unique night in Gili T. The staff is so nice and helpful, they know everything about the island and can help you for any request (mainly for a perfect sunset spot ;) ).
The diving and snorkeling crew is so nice and friendly. You will, for sure, enjoy your excursion.
We booked a private room that was nicely decorated with a beautiful bathroom.
The breakfast was good too!

We stayed for 3 nights and it was soo chill. The rooms are pretty basic but the overall look was great with the pool in the middle and a real nice rooftop. The staff were the best and we would just wake up and Lucky would be down stairs near the pool and we would just go on dives whenever we wanted coz it was real quiet and we’d be hungover some nights the dive crew are real nice. Was the best stay on Gili could’ve asked for.

I did two fun dives with Compass Divers and would definitely do more if I had time. It was easy to book and communicate thru WhatsApp, everybody in the diveshop was really nice, friendly and helpful. My guide Iris was very professional, caring and friendly, amazing dives with her at Turtle heaven and Shark point. The dive shop facilities are stunning and all the equipment in great condition.

Didn’t chose to go diving due to recovering slowly from a cold but want to point out the superb infos, advice, flexibility of the GM Sebastian (french fella).
