I absolutely loved this place. I initially booked for a week after friends recommended it and I ended up staying on and off for almost 3 weeks.
The staff is super kind, warm and attentive. Melissa and Dave are very friendly hosts, they have been super accommodating (trying to find out of the box solutions so I could stay in Ekas for longer when they were fully booked) and very attentive. The food is really tasty (fish burger is one of my favourite!).
The surf is great as well - sometimes I gets crowded but if you get up early, you can get the spot almost for yourselves.
I also loved walking around in the village that is full of smiley kids and friendly locals. There is not much to do in Ekas than surfing but it's a special place and felt a very authentic village
If you plan to go for a while, I'd recommend bringing a rented board from Kuta. Or though they do rent boards in the resort but mid size lengths options were limited when I was there
It really felt like a home away from home with friendly people, great waves and a great vibe. Definitely some of my favourite time spent in Indo!
An overdue review but I wanted to extend a massive thanks for Melissa and Dave and all of the crew from Ekas surf resort for such a fantastic stay, I'm definitely missing this place and hope I'll go back some day!

An incredible stay in a hotel with an idyllic setting, we are truly faultless.
The welcome and kindness of the team, the attention and smiles of each of the servers while delivering a special mention to Iskanda.
The food is just excellent, the food is fresh and remarkably well cooked. I would like to point out that we are on a long trip and we have very rarely eaten so well, the mahi mahi is literally to die for.
Whether the room, the swimming pool, the common areas, everything is clean and decorated with care.
You can also take surf lessons, again, the staff is very attentive!
Do not hesitate to come to Ekas, about an hour from Kuta Lombok, here you will find a very preserved region to discover by scooter.

Kindest staff I have met in Indonesia so far. They arranged a pickup at the airport for is to drive us to the resort. Everyone who works here is friendly and willing to help with anything. I can highly recommend

We loved our ten day stay at Ekas Surf Resort. We’ve stayed at quite a few surf resorts as a family and this was by far the best!
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent; with a good variety of freshly prepared local, western and vegetarian meals. We enjoyed playing table tennis in the games area and liked that the owners let the local kids use these facilities as well. The pool was a big hit, not massive, but deep and refreshing, and was rarely busy.
Inside Ekas is a super fun wave, perfect for our groms (10 and 13), and it gets pretty classy on the bigger swells and lower tides. There is also good variety on offer with outside Ekas and the beachbreak.
The best thing about our stay were the staff. The owners, Dave and Melissa are legends and couldn’t do enough to make us feel at home. The local Indonesian staff spoke excellent English and were super helpful and friendly, it was a pleasure hanging out with all of them. Special mention to Iskandar, who consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and happy, such a great guy.
We would happily book again in a heartbeat, bit of a shame it’s 8000 miles away!

Ekas Surf Resort is an incredible place in south Lombok. A very familiar environment The food is very good and tasty. Dave and Melissa are very friendly people and always willing to provide a good experience of the place.

We were driving past and stopped in for a meal. All the guest were super friendly and the food was good. Good vibes all round.

We were scooting around the area and decided to grab something to eat. We saw the signs to ESR and thought we would have a look. We were immediately impressed with this fantastic restaurant. We ordered crumbed calamari which was soft and delicious, a beef hamburger which was clearly homemade and a beef rendang that was beautifully spiced. Super happy with the quality of food and the service was excellent. We didn't stay here but this boutique hotel looks like it will be very popular with surfers and beach goers. We noticed another table continuously asking for the menu over and over gain to order more food as they were very happy with everything.

Had an awesome experience here. My wife and I stayed with Dave and Melissa for 3 nights. Dave took us out surfing each morning at some local breaks, was fantastic. Food at the resort is great also and accommodation very good also. It’s pretty isolated around Ekas but really good to escape the busy scenes of Kuta. About a 45 minute trip in taxi from Kuta Lombok.

10 STARS! From the second I arrived, Mel & Dave were absolutely fantastic! Helping me with anything I needed locally. Dave is a great surfer and took me out surfing every day I was there and really helped in my progress. There is NOWHERE else in Ekas I will ever stay again, fabulous fabulous place. Oh yea, the food- TOP NOTCH & oh so yummy! Thanks guys, you ROCK and I will be seeing you very soon. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

This place is amazing! The food, room and pool was absolutely magnificent. The Ekas Surf Resort may be a new establishment, but the business owners knowledge, kindness and assistance were truly unparalleled. I highly recommend this establishment, we found it to be the best accomodation in our entire time here in Lombok! 5 Stars!

Amazing hidden gem, the perfect getaway. Melissa, Heru, Nan, and all the others gave us the warmest of welcomes and made us feel right at home. The place is brand new and in tip top shape. 10 min walk from a hidden beach where we were able to be alone for hours at a time short of local fisherman trying to find the day's catch. There are some nice waved there, too, good for beginners and the instructor is very helpful and patient.
The hotel itself has five rooms, all with AC and a minibar. Due to the low season there was almost no place open to eat in the village, but thankfully the hotel has excellent food and was able to accommodate my vegetarian diet. The pool is small but nice and deep (ca 6 feet). When we stayed there the pool table and lounge area was not yet finished but should be very soon.
Beyond surf lessons, Ekas also organise trips to other parts of the island. We went on an an amazing snorkeling trip and saw some great deals life and untouched coral.
It's relatively easy to find Ekas village and the hotel with maps, but unless you're an experienced driver we would recommend getting private transport - the roads get very bad in this area and the last bit is a rough dirt road. Rumour has it new roads will be build next few years but until then be careful!
We'd come back in a heartbeat.
