Gili Air Divers

For 3 nights I was on Gili Air and all I did was diving! I had an amazing time, and enjoyed the dive sites very much. The crew was amazing too, although it was a little bit difficult to communicate before my arrival.
For me it also was the best opportunity to do my Nitrox40 course. And Emma did a really good job in showing me the ropes. She effectively checked if I had accumulated all the knowledge, so we could go for a safe Nitrox dive with extended bottomtime.
I definitely can recommend this dive shop for others!

My recent diving adventure with Gili Air Divers was nothing short of extraordinary. As a beginner, Dive Masters Heri and Greg provided excellent guidance and made every step of the learning process enjoyable. The transition from pool classes to the breathtaking sea of Gili Air was seamless.

The underwater landscape, adorned with stunning rocks and vibrant coral, left me in awe. Swimming alongside numerous rock fish and encountering giant turtles was a surreal experience. The highlight, however, was coming face to face with giant Tuna fish – a first for me!

I can't recommend Gili Air Divers enough. The professionalism and friendliness of the entire team, including the owner Bibi, truly set them apart. Their passion for diving and commitment to safety made the entire journey memorable.

Reception was very friendly. Competent consulting. Completed three dives. Ivan, our diving guide, prepared us very conscientiously and precisely for the dives and looked after us very carefully and during the dive. The boat captain also kept an eye on the snorkeling group. We highly recommend Gili Island Divers.

Great diving center on Gili Air. There are several to be found on the island but I think they are one of the best. Super friendly and highly professional staff. I went with my dive instructor Sam and had an amazing dive at Hans Reef. Definitely will come back.

Four great dives with our dive master Ivan. We were very comfortable both days, they try ten and they help you with everything!

Great place to dive, secure, good dive masters/ instructors (super fun Ivan/Ivana) respect for the environment, you cannot ask for more.

Great experience from start to finish.
From the first contact by message, everything was very good. I received quick responses, friendly advice from the Club boss.

The center itself is very pleasant, on the water's edge, with a beautiful swimming pool for doing exercises. There is always water, tea, coffee available. The staff is also super welcoming and competent.

Finally I spent the open water with Sam. It was perfect. He was very educational (I understood everything!), patient and reassuring. He was very encouraging, always valuing progress, and pushing without forcing to be able to progress. I finished the three days with great confidence and a fierce desire to do it again.

My husband got me my open water course as a birthday gift with Gili Air divers and they even kindly made a card for my husband to print out to give me on the day! I think my look of surprise and joy is something he will never forget!

Gili Air divers made me feel right at home and part of a close group! Everyone on site is super friendly and inviting! But course I couldn’t have had such an amazing experience of it weren’t for my dive instructor Emma V!

She made me feel safe and gave me the confidence I needed. Always reflecting on what we enjoyed and what we could improve. I couldn’t have asked for a more kind, patient and fun instructor!

Excellent dive base!

I did my deep specialty with the Gili Air Divers and about 15 fun dives. Immediately I felt welcomed be everyone, I got my gear and was off to the boat. My Instructor Mathieu did an amazing job not only teaching me de bare minimum but to really prepare you for challenging dives. His passion for diving and his knowledge really makes him stand out of the many instructors I have meet so far. Diving with Mathieu is always super fun, but he knows when there is the time for and when you need to be serious. Thanks Mat, it was a great experience

Most of my fun dives I did with Emma or Ivan. I absolutely loved diving with the two of you! Emmas calm and happy attitude made every dive an amazing experience. She is an amazing diver, even in more challenging situations she stayed calm. Thank you, Emma it was amazing to dive with you
Ivans love and passion for the ocean are hard to ignore, I am still impressed how many fishes he knows be heart. Whatever might be there, Ivan knows where it’s hiding. Diving with Ivan is always super fun, we always had a good time under or above the water. Terima kasih, hati-hati Buddy

We tried the try scuba first and we loved it so much that we ended up doing the full open water course with them. They were very kind and super attentive, they were able to translate the theory into Spanish for us because there were Spanish-speaking teachers, although the explanations in English were perfectly understandable because they were very calm. A lot of security at all times and they made sure that we saw a lot of marine fauna, which in this area is incredible. We will definitely be back!

Friendly and very professional club. Bibi the manager is listening to your desires, a team made up of French and local instructors, I was able to share experiences with each (8 dives) and each time with great pleasure. Completely successful baptisms for my 11 year old son, certainly a future diver in part thanks to GAD.

I did the open water diver course and managed to get it done in 3 days and I'm very thankful for everyone who helped me get it.

I will never forget the amazing experience I had with these guys! I signed up for a discovery dive during my stay on Gili Air and felt so comfortable and full of trust that I spontaneously decided to get the SSI Open Water Diver certification. I was fortunate to be tutored 1 on 1 by Hery, who gently but firmly pushed me to my limits in the pool, allowing me to fully relax and dive into the experience afterwards without fear. Hery is a great coach, experienced diver and well-versed guide who finds you the pygmy seahorse you have been searching for.

My experience with the rest of the team was also incredibly nice. I was allowed to dive with Ivan, who showed me the beautiful underwater world in his own way and was just as happy about our discoveries as I was. These guys love what they do and are passionate about it every day.

Also BB, Diding and the whole team were always attentive and super helpful, they take care of every diver lovingly, no matter if it is your first or your 180th dive. 100% recommendation! You will not regret diving here and discovering the beautiful underwater world of the Gilis.

Just don't miss out on having an afterwork Bintang with them - you will get to know wonderful people with a great sense of humour and learn about culture and nature alike!

We randomly bumped into their staff during our morning walk around the island, ended up spontaneously signing up for 3 dives with them.
Staff is nice and welcoming. Particularly David, Bibi and Ivan with whom we spent most of the time.
I liked their particular focus on the safety and making the experience as enjoyable as it gets.

Went for advance course here and had a really good time with lots knowledge acquired. Bibi & Henry were amazing instructors! I had an ear problem & they were incredible accommodating, helpful & nice. Highly recommend this center!

I was having fun 3 days of diving with Alex last year. My review so far:
Preparation: I have good communication prior coming to Gili Air, using WA. Good explanation and on my arrival everything is smooth.
Dive masters are great here, they will inform us with the condition in Gili Air.
Equipment: good, area is cozy for technical after dive talk, boat is ok too for day trip.
Dive sites: awesome turtles for diving view, no current, warm water.
So far it is recommended and fun.

I would not recommend this school, I had a very poor experience recently completing my open water certificate. The Indonesian instructor Harry was inexperienced, unenthusiastic and lazy. I was made to feel dumb when I asked any questions or asked for him to repeat himself as his English was so poor.
I was also made to feel so uncomfortable by sleazy staff that I brought my boyfriend on the boat for the last 2 dives. Only when I almost walked out on my last dive, was I offered a different instructor mickael who was so experienced and shared his knowledge. Thanks Mickael

Totally recommend Gili Air Divers, I contacted them about 3 weeks before I arrived on Gili Air and they answered all my questions in a way that I already felt welcome.

So first I did the Discovery course with a little theory part, a pool and a open water session. Hery my instructor for this day was super attentive and did a very good job.

After the last dive I could decide if I want to continue the course for Scuba or even Open Water Diver or just do a fun dive the next day.

I decided to do the Open Water Course and got Marie as instructor for the rest of the course.
She is very fun, gives very helpful tips and could answer every question I had in a way that made me feel safe all the time.

In the end I really had such a good time here, that I did some more dives with them before I left Gili Air.

Overall I did have good experience, but there are some things that happened that I cannot give 5 stars. I did the beginner scuba diving course. Staff was friendly and for that you deserve 5 stars Alex and Ivan, however we did not practice really equalizing before we went for open water and I did not feel I managed the neutral position as I was constantly sinking. I was 1.pushed into the water from the boat and 2.when we were done diving my leg cramped and our boats "arm" almost hit my head with only millimeters from behind, pushing me down under the water. I don't know what would have happened if it hit my head, I would most probably have had a severe head damage. For that reason I did not feel 100% safe and I am sorry to have to write it here. I am aware this might be a rare occurance.

Club très sérieux, excellent matériel et bateau impeccable. Nous avons fait une plongée formidable avec Pierrot, il nous a montré beaucoup de choses magnifiques et il est d’une très grande gentillesse. Tout le staff est aux petits soins et très efficace. Je recommande chaudement.

I dive with gili island divers for almost a week, I dive six times including a night dive and also have a free diving session.
My expireance was very good, the crew is very proffesional and helpful, they make my diving expireance very fun and safe.
The guid know where to look and how to find intresting animal in the coral reef.
Highly recomanded

I did 4 dives with them. It was just perfect. Diding and Jirin were the perfect divemasters. We saw a lot, they have knowledge of the underwater world and they are chill. Also the entourage is just great! Really like them.

One con though: I didn't had a waterproof gopro case, so I borrowed one. They asked 400k for 2 days rental, which is outrageous as a brand new case cost like 700k (and you have even cases for 100k). However on the island I had no choice.

Had a great experience taking my open water certificate at Gili Air divers. We were a group of four friends who had Alex as our dive master, which was really great. He made us feel safe and was also a lot of fun to hang out with during the 3 days.

Did a freediving course with Mikael, he was a very professional patient teacher, I can very much recommend him for learning how to freedive. Crew in general was very friendly and helpful. Equipment was good except one very worn of shorties with holes in it etc.one participant was given.

Great diving centre, took my open water here with Alex as instructor and he was really knowledgable, pedagogical, attentive and fun. We felt safe throughout the whole course. Good facilities with a large pool, free water/coffee/tea. I can highly recommend this place.

Extensive individual care, very friendly. Professional. Always a good feeling. All around a class experience, could not have been better.

I did a Freediving trial session with Mickael and it was really great experience! Can recommend it to everyone. Very nice and friendly people at Gili Air Divers.

Amazing experience, my partner was doing scuba diving so Harry and the team included me by taking me on the boat and showing me how to snorkel! Made our holiday 10000 times better, loved the crew

This diving school is awesome! They were very friendly and took our fear of diving. That's why we expanded from a Discovery dive to the Open Water Diver. This was awesome. We felt safe during the whole time and we enjoyed the course so much. Thanks to our teacher Alex!

I did Discover Scuba diving with Amelie! She is great! I nearly gave in in the pool and she calmed me down. When I got into the ocean, it was fabulous! So glad I did it! Great instructor and nice to have a session in your native language too. They have lots of instructors speaking French and Spanish.

Great place to dive. Safe, knowledgable, was a great experience. A by the book shop so perfect for beginners but still fun for experienced folks. No nitrox which was only a slight bummer but the shop was very responsive to inquiries so it was not a surprise. Dove 2x and each was great. Groups of no more than 4 per dive master/ instructor even with 11-16 on the boat. 2nd dive at turtle reef was a bit crowded between our boat and some others but still plenty to see so it wasn't a major hinderance. I would definitely recommend them and dive with Gili Air Divers again.

We did our open water certification at Gili Air Divers. The place was recommended by a former instructor and we were overall very happy with the instructor team (Alex and Ludwig plus the crew), the facilities and equipment. We felt very safe and well guided throughout all four dives. Keep up the good work!

The experience was excellent especially the two instructors Kevin and Rudwik were very helpful. Highly recommended.

Had my first ever diving session. My instructor Erry was amazing! He is calm, very focused and structured, has thousands of dives behind his belt, yet keeps the session light and entertaining. I trusted him with my life with ease! The other members of the crew are very supportive and gave me lots of guidance too. Fantastic experience and Gili Air Divers are the perfect place for it. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our dives with Gili Air Divers. Every dive master, instructor, boat staff we met were friendly and genuine. We felt like diving with family members. The dive sites were beautiful and our guides did their best to show us the wonderful marine life. Hope to come back again.

Worst experience ever. I booked a freediving course. They first postponed it one day, and then they cancelled it. Because of them I couldn't do the course at all, because I already lost valued time to go to do it somewhere else.

My girlfriend and I made the Open Water course and it was great! The complete Team was very professional. We got a good and solid information about the course and the price and we have not been rushed to do the course there. We have been only the two of us during the whole course and also the other courses were in such small groups. It was perfect because we could really go through everything in good detail and every concern had been adressed. The diving spots we have done were perfect for us, we saw a lot of Great animals and the level of the spots were perfect for us. We had the best dive Master we could wish for, Hery! If you consider doing a dive with an instructor, ask for him!

They had a big renovation of the office when we were there, so the Place was very busy and loud. But i think it will look great when they are finished and when you go for a Dive you should care more about what is underwater anyway.

The only reason I rate 4 Stars is that the Pool in which we made part of our course wasn't very neat and welcoming.

My girlfriend and I had our first diving lessons with Kevin and the gang in Gili Air Divers. The overall experience was easy going yet professional as we had so much fun and still felt safe the whole time. The open water dive itself was out of this world and we'll remember it for the rest of our lives. Our instructor also had a good understanding about marine life and didn't fail to show us some of the most amazing animals in the area. I can honestly recommend this place and I am definitely going to dive more in the future!
