Insider Surf Gerupuk - Lombok

I can’t recommend highly enough, definitely 5*! My surfing and my confidence have improved so much in just one week of lessons with Ateng and the Insidersurf team. Ateng is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to reading waves and is great at explaining all the theory. I also tested out a number of boards when I was at the camp, which was super helpful as I’m hoping to progress to a smaller one. I always felt safe surfing with Ateng and Dedy, especially when there was a really busy line up or when the conditions were a bit more challenging. I’ll definitely be coming back to Insidersurf, not just for the coaching, but also for the laughs… the guys are hilarious and there’s such a good vibe both in and out of the water: D

I think is one of The best instructors of Lombok. He knows a lot, he has good vibes, super clear when he explains. He will get you involve really easy will surf. I had a really good experience. I will definitely go back, I highly recommend him:)

Ateng is the best surf instructor I ever had. And with him I evolved really fast.
It’s professional and sometimes he act like a psychologist, knowing exactly how to help you overcome your mental limitations. And above being a pro surfer teacher, he is such a friendly and entertaining character, so you are not going to be bored waiting for that perfect wave. Such a good memories

After having a bit of a bad experience with one of the bigger surf schools in Kuta I was a bit sceptical to get some more lessons, but I'm so glad I did with Insider surf!

Ateng and Jason have always made sure I felt safe and had a lot of fun exploring new spots. They have incredible knowledge about all the spots and can tell every single detail. I've learnt heaps and heaps thanks to their tips and feedback. They helped me fix some basic skills (my pop-up needed a lot of improvement, but I never realised that) before I could move on to more intermediate moves. Within just a few sessions I really noticed the difference. Besides that, I had a lot of fun during the sessions, these guys are legends and will bring a smile on your face.

You will definitely not get a better experience than this. I can't recommend them enough. Also big thanks to Lucy for being a gem on solid communication and always making sure everything was organised well. I'll be back!

Ateng is a local and has huge respect in every lineup due to his professionalism. He knows what spot is the best for your level on any given day and can provide lessons for all levels of skill. Hes ripping

Probably the best place to improve your surfing skill in Lombok. I did spent almost 2 months surfing in gerupuk. Most of the time with Ateng. This guy is just a legend. His ability to teach, explain and demonstrate surf theory in different ways. Just makes him the best for the job of making you better. Rumour says that he s half human and half fish. But im pretty sure he s 90% fish.

Ateng is an amazing surf instructor! I progressed a lot in my surfing thanks to him, he’ll help you gain confidence in the water and always gives feedback on what to improve. Always a good time in the water with him! I’d recommend Ateng to anyone who wants to progress and have a good time surfing in Gerupuk, no one knows the waves better then him.

Best surf instructor in Lombok! Ateng has endless knowledge of Gerupuk Bay and surfing in general - had an unreal couple of weeks and can’t wait to come back!

Loved surfing with Ateng, he made every session very fun and entertaining but at the same time he is super professional, relentless in explaining and spots little things you do before, or on the wave and once pointed out they made such a difference. I surfed with them for more than a month and I improved so much. Ateng is one of the best teacher that I ever had. He knows very well how to read waves and he really wants you to improve. I started turning on the waves and I’m so happy about it!

The teachers are amazing and super nice. They teach you the theory easily and clearly.
The lesson includes the board, the boat (they have their own), and the teacher, which is super comfortable.
Also, they speak super good English

Ateng is a great (and fun) teacher. Compared to many other surf instructors, he doesn’t just tell you where and when to paddle, but he makes sure you get proper feedback for every wave you get.for any level, from beginner to intermediate!
