Manta Dive Gili Trawangan

Completed my scuba tune-up and Deep Dive & Nitrox course with Manta and absolutely loved it! Tommy my instructor is a legend and was very patient with all of my questions - he seriously knows his stuff and is super passionate about diving. The centre itself is really social and a great place to hang out between dives - highly recommend thank you Manta!?

Nice bungalows and friendly staff.
Good scubadiving facilities.
Good food and drinks.
Did i mention the friendly people?

I spent 2 weeks on Gili Trawangan visiting friends. As part of the vacation we also went Scuba diving.
Diving with Manta Dive was absolutely what you would expect from a high quality Diving Resort.
Most important, well maintained, clean and high quality equipment as well as professional, knowledgeable and friendly dive guides.
Many daily dive trips allow divers of all level of experiences to have great dives meeting their individual expectations.
As I did not stay in the resort I cannot judge the Bungalows but clearly the rest of the Resort is well maintained, clean and comfortable with a nice restaurant, bar and seating area allowing to relax and recharge with friends between dives.

Had a refresher lesson with Tommy followed by a dive. Subsequently had a dee dive at shark point with the few of the staff, with Mike taking photos. The dive sites are top class and the business and its DMs are all excellent. Was a brilliant place to stay on our honeymoon to scuba. Would definitely recommend if you’re going to Gili T.

No one to eat! Salad not good and expensive! Force to take supplements because ridiculous portions! Disgusting burger and soft fries!

The room was very nice and clean! You are right in the middle of the action and hardly have to put any distances behind you. I also did the Discovery Dive. That was really a great experience and is super organized. The breakfast is good, but the breakfast service could be improved as it takes a long time.

Perfect, lovely staff so friendly and everything arranged so well. Our diving instructor, Jack, was amazing and so helpful. Not one bad word to say! Thank you! ️

The food here is unreal, especially breakfast and lunch. So tasty, good portions and good price. Best English breakfast tea on the island. My favorite meal is the manta special baguette, quesadillas or the Robbie special! Staff are very funny and lovely, especially Alan!

I loved my stay. The staff was super friendly and the rooms had everything we needed…drinking water, small fridge, makeup counter, wonderful shampoo/conditioner. The breakfast, pool and location were excellent! Definitely recommend!

My favourite place in Gili T! Most wonderful staff and diving instructors. Will come back again.

Went for drinks here everyday and was a fantastic atmosphere, great to chill at happy hour and grab a bite to eat. Staff and bosses are super friendly!

An all round 5 star place. Top quality food, great cocktails and fantastic diving with great instructors. Don’t miss out on the Ben’s Special for lunch!

I had an AMAZING time at Manta Dive — the highlight of my holiday.
Found a new hobby in diving, and had the best time during my Open Water Course and Specialties, with instruction and diving by Majik — thanks again for introducing me to this magic underwater world ;)
Also, the accommodation was very nice, very friendly staff, good breakfast, perfect private outdoor shower connected to the room, bike rent and cosy terrace ‍️ I will definitely be back, somewhere in the future!

Awww by far the most amazing experience we had! We did scubadiving at meno wall and felt so sad we were living next day and couldnt do another one in a different spot. Staff are so nice, friendly, attemptive and kind. I actually got asked to marry the man of my life while we were 10m under the water, with corals, fishes and turtles to bless our union. It was all a surprise for me but the whole team had it all organised with my fiance. Was very special and it couldnt have been so nice without the whole team there! Thank you all for the best time ever. Special thanks to Marta who capture the moment with his camera under the water, Magic for helping the perfect moment to happen and Simon for been there with us all the way! Thank you Manta Diving

Update: I did contact the dive center directly to let them know about my treatment and to give them a chance to rectify the situation. But I didn't even receive the courtesy of a response!

First post: I was treated very poorly when I went into their dive shop to inquire about fun dives. I am rescue diver certified, and have had zero problems with diving in the past. The dive staff asked me to fill out a three-page medical history form prior to going on a fun dive with them. I am on a very low level of antidepressants to help me sleep at night. One of the dive staff refused to allow me to dive with them because of this. He said he would require a note from a doctor to take me out on dives. I spoke with five other dive shops on the island about my treatment, and they all agreed it was completely ridiculous. As a certified diver, they all said I should not have been asked to fill out a medical history form. As a certified diver, I should be the one to make decisions about my fitness for diving. Other dive shops on the island call Manta Dive a "big business only interested in courses" because that's where they make money. This is coming from other dive shops that work right alongside them! For fun dives and better, more personalized treatment, I would go to one of the other smaller, PADI certified shops on the island.

I have dived and worked in diving all over the world, Manta Dive is probably the most welcoming and best run dive centre I have dived with. Great service and great people!

We had a fantastic experience on our fun dive with Mati and 2 other instructors from Manta Dive. My wife, I and 3 of our daughters (23,22 and 17) had a great day with the Manta Dive team. This was the first open ocean dive for 4 of us and the instructors eased any initial nerves and the whole dive was well managed and felt safe. We saw so much and it was amazing to get so close to the fantastic turtles just off Gili Trawangan. I would recommend a dive with Manta Dive if on the Gilli islands.

We loved our stay at Manta, so much that we got an extra night.
The staff are so friendly and helpful and happy to assist with anything.
The food at the café and drinks are great.
The room is big with a huge comfy bed, very beautiful shower room and Aircon, fridge etc.
The pool is lovely and there is another diving pool too. We also dived with Robbie and had a great dive!
Would definitely recommend and also come back again.

SSI standard approved. Sehr professionell und verantwortungsbewusst. Genau so muss es sein. Für pros und anfänger geeignet.

It is indeed beautiful place and affordable i should say.

The chicken burger was the best had on island. The beef burger was not as good.

Prices here seemed cheaper than restaurants further up from peir

Great experience at Manta Dive. It was 10 years since my last diving experience before coming to Gili. Great quick refresher course. Jared is an excellent instructor, funny and very knowledgeable which made us feel very comfortable diving. The Greek salad was delicious and huge, definitely a favorite with the missus. Will definitely be coming back to Manta our next trip out.

The best diving center I had a chance to dive with during my stay in Indonesia. All the people are the friendliest and always happy to help. They were answering all my questions for 15 minutes even though I wasn't booking anything on my first visit. Also, they are not trying to "optimize" the dives, which means there is always a number of dive guides on each dive, which means there are usually 2-3 people in the group, or even less. I was lucky to have a solo dive twice, for a normal price. Thanks to Ozy, who was a really good (and fun) guide during both of them.

Did my open water here. Amazing staff and very knowledgeable instructors that are more than qualified to make you a proper diver! Good prices as well and this place is well known to be a good diving school among the locals.

Lack of service, came to the restaurant while waiting for the boat, no waiters, had to look for them to get menu, after had to look for them again asking to take an order, food is decent and arrived fast.

Great experience scuba diving with Manta Dive. Spent about 6 days there and the staff are very professional and also fun to hang out with. Diving was amazing. Nice outdoor bar and lounging areas. Accommodation is also very nice (and it's very convenient to stay on the property while doing many days of diving). Food is good but food service can be quite slow, especially breakfast.

A friend of mine told me about Gili Trawangan and that I should learn diving there. He recommended Manta Dive as the best shop to do it. I was very excited about it and when I came there my expectations were more than exceeded.
On my first day I had a pool session with my instructor Tom. He explained everything clearly, patient and answered all my questions. In the afternoon we went for my introduction dive and it was amazing. Through the whole dive Tom always made me feel safe and comfortable.
All the gear, equipment and boats looked well maintained and safe too.
After my first impression I decided to continue with an open water course. Tom was very flexible and could schedule all my dives and lessons around my timetable. He took me to many different dive sites and showed me so many different animals. For the theoretical exam my instructor explained every possible question so I could easily pass it.
This totally positive experience made me extend my stay and starting the advanced diving course.
Therefor I had 2 different teacher. Amber took me on my first dive, the rest of my lessons and dives were with Majik. Both did a great job keeping me safe, teaching and showing how much fun diving is. As with my first instructor I could easily schedule everything for my own needs.
At the end of every day the manta dive family is spending some time at the dive shop. I was always welcomed there to have a little chat and a beer (food and drinks at the dive shop are very good and for a reasonable price). I got some tips for good local food or locations to go out in the evening. Everybody was very nice and I truly enjoyed every minute I spent there.
Within my 8 days at Gili T I had a lot of fun and I'm definitely going back to Manta Dive to become a Dive Master as soon as possible.

I reach them on Instagram and they seemed incredible, but they turned out to be a money making machine for tourists. 30 minutes dive, non-stop flapping against the current, very little sea-life (no sharks in 'shark point'), little attentive guide. The minute we stopped at a wreck was OK and they have some very funny 'tuxedo wetsuits' to rent. They should care more for quality and less for their social media.

I think is expensive for what you get. Okay if you want a clean good looking place near the ferry for a night or two or if with friends looking for a place near the parties. For a couple I wouldn’t recommend here. It’s dark and you need to open the blinds to see inside, no beach towels. Staff is friendly, cafe is great. Aircon works well, shower is great. Ok breakfast with great coffee. I guess it all depends on what you looking for in Gili T!

Like this place, tried their food, manta special is great. Chicken teriyaki just ok in my opinion. Crowded during lunch or dinner time. Good service

Amazing food with large serving sizes that offers many well executed western options that the typical warung does not (e.g. B falafel, wraps etc). Our drinks were really tasty as well (cranberry thirst quencher or something like that).

As far as the accommodation goes, it depends on what you want out of your trip. My partner and I were after a nice, relaxing few days on Gili T but weren't able to get that here. We stayed in the furthest bungalow back from the street and the noise was still unreal. Nightclubs either side have their music blasting till between midnight and 4am. There was 10 seconds of hot water from the shower every morning. The beds weren't at all comfy, very hard mattress. The bungalows are very dark, even with every light on it was tough to find clothes etc. It was nice to laze around by the pool and read a book but that's all we really got out of our stay here. It's worth mentioning that the staff were lovely and accommodating. I would only recommended this accommodation to party goers wanting to be in the heart of the nightlife and divers.

Just went to the bar and had my first ever mi goreng burrito.it was fantastic. If I'm back to the Gilis one day I'll come back for my second one)

Love this diving spot where we can have a sight of old sinking ship under the water. Seeing turtles swimming in various sizes and species and coral reefs around.
