Nalua Surf Shop & Surf Camp

Really nice surfcamp! We learned so much and had such a nice time with the others and the instructors! The rooftop on the hotel was amazing, really recommend this place.

We have been to some surf schools in Lombok. Nalua was one of the best! (Also the most expensive one we visited, but worth every rupee ;) ) Everything is organized. It is driven at the best time on the best spor. If something goes wrong, the session is canceled and not simply carried out as is the case with others. There was always a good atmosphere in the water and the participants were well looked after. The boards are also in good condition compared to others that we have seen.

Had the best time with the Nalua surf crew. Learned so much in a week, definitely the best surf school I’ve come across. Mido, John, Asiem and Awan are amazing teachers with a lot of experience. Safety goes first with these guys, felt comfortable also with bigger waves. They make sure that there’s a wave for every level surfer. Visited a new break every day, which made that we saw a lot of the beautiful island as well.

Me and my sister just spent a week doing the surf camp and we loved it so much we've already planned to come back.
Thank you to Mitto, Asim, Awan, Risky and Jhon for being such brilliant surf coaches, I can't believe how much I improved in a week.
Thank you to Ben and Yuli for looking after us so well and making the best banana pancakes.

Absolutely amazing experience at this boutique Lombok surf camp. I spent over a week at Nalua and it was the best surf camp experience I’ve had. All of the staff working there are lovely kind people who are willing to go the extra mile for the guests. The surf instructor team is really experienced - I never felt unsafe in the water and as an intermediate surfer I really learnt a lot in my time there. The boards are also custom made for the shop and the best surfboards I’ve used at a camp. The rooms are super comfortable, everyone wanted to take the beds home with them. Breakfast provided was delicious and healthy, a good selection of fruits, cereals and we could choose one cooked meal a day (pancakes and omelette are superb!) I’ve already booked my next stay with them and can’t wait to be back:)

Truly amazing people! I spent fantastic days in which I had so much fun improving my surfing level! Absolutely the best school i have ever attended! I recommend Nalua to everyone!

We signed up as a couple (and surfing beginners) for a day of surfing and clarified beforehand that we would go into the waves from the beach (“beach break”).
Unfortunately it happened that we had to go out by boat. That in itself would not be a problem if you had been well prepared.
However, our instructions in advance took less than 5 minutes, Mido only showed us how to stand up on the board.
He didn't even introduce us to our surf instructor, we thought he was going on the water with us. We were carted onto the boat and "thrown out" in the waves. Then we got to know our surf instructor and Mido continued with the advanced group without a word. I thought I was crazy!
In the water I said to Takim (our surf instructor) that I don't feel comfortable being that far out. He responded well and tried his best to make me feel safer. That was the only good thing about it all.
Unfortunately, the waves made me sick and I had to get out again.
At least we had the opportunity to return earlier and didn't have to wait for the second group.
For me it was a disappointing experience due to the poor communication.
Beginners need a little more instruction than that. Too bad!

Nalua is a little haven in Kuta. The rooms are some of the nicer ones I’ve seen in the area and the rooftop zone is perfect. The breakfast buffet is also one of the best I’ve had. Surf guides are top notch and I was so sad I could only stay a couple days. I wouldn’t even think about staying anywhere else when I come back they are top notch.

Well curated and easily my fav shop in Indonesia. I always find something for myself and also gifts. Wish they were in Bali

I had an amazing time in the surf camp. The surf teachers are really dedicated to helping you catch some great waves and improve your surfing. Also some nice activities like sunset and surf photo analysis in the evenings. Accomodation is clean, with a nice rooftop and in a great location right next to bars, cafes and restos.
I will certainly be back.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt im Nalua Surfcamp mehr als genossen! Bereits als Beginner wird man herausgefordert und die Surflehrer sind richtig gut und jederzeit für Tipps und Hilfestellung bereit. Die ganze Crew ist total lieb und aufgestellt. Es macht richtig Spass mit diesen Leuten zu surfen und Zeit zu verbringen! Danke für diese super Zeit!

Perfect place to stay in Kuta Lombok! The place is super friendly, the staff is amazing, so nice & welcoming, breakfast is very good and everything about the surfing experience is perfect. I had the best time! I do recommend you to go there, stay there and enjoyyy!

Gorgeous accommodation with delicious food. The surf instructors were fantastic and the staff super friendly. Just be careful in the shop, you will want to buy everything ;)
Highly recommended & will definitely go back!

The guides at the camp are the only reason i am giving this a 2 star, they were quite responsive and wanted to help as much as they can, though they aren't the best teacher per say. Other than the accommodation was really basic, the room though clean had only a bench and bed and a counter (minimalistic style) a chair to sit on would'nt have harmed instead of sitting on the bed the whole time when in the room. The location of the camp of course is great as it is exactly in the center but with that comes a huuuge drawback namely; noise. The amount of motorbikes passing by, dogs fighting especially at night and the venues playing music makes chilling out at the camp literally impossible no matter where you sit. Also the mosque located exactly beside the camp is loud at sunrise prayer when everything else is somewhat quite. Also food (only breakfast) included in the price is pretty basic, as the options at the rooftop "bar". The internet and hot water are really a hit and miss also.so overall i wouldn't recommend it as for this exclusive price you are definitely better off somewhere else or at least u can get a similar experience for way cheaper.

Best hostel for surfing in Lombok! Had a fantastic stay here at Nalua surf in Lombok. The room where clean and the interior so nice I wanted to bring it home with me. Staff is also so very helpful and friendly.

If you want to learn or know how to surf there’s a perfect opportunity where they take u to new beaches and u can get the best private lessons from a surf coach.
Would Highly recommend to stay at this place when in Lombok!
