We have booked different busses and trips via perama tours during our journey through the Philippines and Indonesia. They always offered the cheapest price and super service.

We joined the 5 days 4 night boat tour to Komodo and Rinca with Perama. We had read some reviews stating that the boats had ran into problems, but we decided to take the risk. The tour started with a bus ride from Sengigi to Labuan Lombok visiting some cultural sights and stopping for taking pictures with monkeys. The tour continued with a large boat planned to go to Labuan Bajo (Flores) via Komodo, and back to Lombok via Rinca (and some other interesting stops on the way). After a stop at beautiful Satonda island we arrived at Kilo beach, to watch the sunset. This place was meant for a 1,5 hour visit, but lasted for more than a day. The engine of the boat had died (rumor has it they failed to remember to regularly pump water out of the engine room). The expected delay caused much distress and confusion amongst passengers. Some passengers were told they would not get their lost hotel reservations refunded, but some help was offered to reschedule hotels and flights where possible. Another boat was sent to pick us up in the middle of the night, which was quite the operation in the dark. The rest of the cruise however went smoothly and they brought us to beautiful locations and wonderful snorkeling spots. The absence of trash on the beach and elsewhere was very refreshing and the lack of many other tourists was very appreciated. The Komodo and Rinca island tours are quite similar, but Rinca island is definitely a wonderful sight. The showers on the boat where not cold but not always working. The food offered during the tour was slightly repetitive but not bad. The boat hit rough waters on several occasions and had us scared for capsizing many times. The captain and his crew have all gotten us back safely and for that we are grateful. Quite some time of the tour is spend boating, so be prepared to make friends with the rest of the passengers.

All in all we really enjoyed our tour and are happy we joined. The crew was nice and helpful although communication from their end was lacking at important moments. The tour brings you to wonderful places and we definitely recommend their organization.
