Rinjani Samalas Tour & Trekking

We had a very good experience with this organization! We did the 2 days 1 night trip to the top of Rinjani. We always got super tasty and lots of food and part of our luggage was carried by people from this organization, so we didn't have to carry everything ourselves. Top experience you will never forget

Everything was perfect. Clear and fast communication over WhatsApp before the trip. No question was left unanswered by Azmi. The trip itself is hard but amazing and well worth it! Shout out to my team of Guides and Porters Karan, Badawi, Samsul and Budun these guys took such well care of me. Fun conversations awesome food couldn't have asked for more. Even a shortly decided change of plan from my side was no problem! Would 100 % go with these guys again!

Just finished a 4D3N w Rinjani samalas and would definitely recommend them for your rinjani hike! The organiser (azmi) had clear communication and the guides (awal, ren, karan) were the patient and helping throughout the hike, as long as you dont give up, they will literally hold your hand up the summit. Awal has thousands of summits under his belt and is constantly looking out for our safety. He even made a campfire last minute when we asked for it. Please tip them well if you are going with them!

I highly recommend this company for trekking Mt. Rinjani! Communication with Azmi was great and quick and the hotel for the night before was very nice.
During the hike, the guide (Supi) looked after me very well and always supported me. The porters also prepared the best food.

We did the 3D2N package and from the very beginning Azmi was very responsive answering all our questions in great detail on WhatsApp. The tour was cost effective as well compared to other providers. Even though this was one of the most challenging things my friends and I have done but Azmi and the team made it extremely comfortable for us and made sure we were all able to have a great time and complete the summit. Very friendly and accomodating team, that provided some of the best food we've had in a camping situation. Thanks alot for making this a very memorable experience for us. Highly recommended!

This company was really great in all aspects. The villa (for first night staying) was beautiful, clean and well serviced. The porters on the hike were great cooks - we had really good meals considering we were camping! The guides paced the hike well and provided snacks/water as needed. They even make good conversation and try to accomodate the best they can for different hiking paces/fatigue levels. Its a hard trek! So you need to prepare for it! Shout out to Sinchan and Apri (our guides) for making this experience truly enjoyable.

I don’t usually write reviews but these guys really deserve it, so here I am!

Right from the onset, it was a breeze to deal with Azmi as he was very responsive and flexible in planning a trip around our needs.

Our first night’s stay at Villa Bambu was very comfortable and allowed us to rest well before the hike (they had hot showers, ensuite bathrooms, and even provided towels/soap!).

During the hike, the guides (Apri and Sinchan) and porters were all so genuine and helpful. They carried water and snacks to ensure we were well hydrated and had the energy to go on, and the porters made delicious fresh meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday - complete with hot drinks and freshly cut fruits (all cut and plated so creatively). They provided clean tents and sleeping bags and made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. On the way down from the hike, they collected trash that they found along the way, which I thought was absolutely great!

Overall an extremely pleasant experience and I would highly recommend Rinjani Samalas! This was my first multi-day hike and they made it so easy:)

If you guys are thinking of a safe and amazing guided trek. Look no further. My personal experience with Mr. Azmi and his team has been great. The team has put a lot of effort to manage the entire trek and tour for you.
They are very honest and amazing guys to trek along.
This trek will need some proper hike shoes and your internal motivation to reach to the top and enjoy a breathtaking view.
Ps. I almost lost my phone while returning back to the hotel. But Mr. Azmi and team helped me in finding it in no time. Told you. They are some amazing beings you will come accross:)

I highly recommend to book the Rinjani tour with this company! Azmi (the owner) answers super fast to any question you might have. Equipment, food, is really good. But what really made the difference for me are the porters and our guide Supi. Porters are really fast, which means we never had to wait long for our food to be ready. Supi perfectly knew when to leave and at what pace we should walk, so we were in time for the sunset and to make sure the porters could secure a good spot for the tent. Supi also knew the answer to literally every question we had about the island, plant, trees,

We booked a 3D2N Rinjani Trekking with Samalas and it was one of best trips ever. Right from the start everything was perfect. Driver picked us on time in a clean vehicle and we reached Bambu villa which is amazing and super relaxing stay. Azmi and the hotel staff were very polite and professional. The food was super delicious at hotel. The guide and the porters did an amazing job during the trek carrying all the stuff and making sure we were comfortable all the time. The fresh food prepared at the camp was delicious too. Overall, I would say if you thinking about going for Rinjani trek, dont think twice and book with Samalas and you will have the best experience ever! Thank you Azmi and team for providing the amazing service and beyond expectations!

5/5 because more is not possible. We did a 3ND tour with our guide Apri and 2 porters Adi&Emma. The experience was amazing and comparing to other tourists we met on the mountain I certain to say Samalas your offers the best quality for the Rinjani trekking!

We really enjoyed our trekking with Rinjani Samalas (3 nights, 4 days). Before the trek you will sleep a night in the beautiful Villa Bambu resort in Senaru. In fact, we enjoyed this place so much that we extended our stay there after the hike. In the morning you will be driven to the entry point of the hike. You will be provided with basically everything except your own clothes. The food that is always freshly cooked for you is amazing although for us it was a little too much as we like to eat lighter for long hikes. ;-)

Our guide Poan spoke English and was really good, he adapted to us and explained about the surrounding nature and the history of the volcano. On the second day we decided to omit the second crater rim due to weather conditiond that caused landslides and instead went throu Torean valley. As we absolutely loved its nature Poan took the time to show us some waterfalls and other beautiful secret spots.

Some tipps for the hike: bring good (hiking) shoes! Yes, you can do it in sneakers and yes, the porters run up there in flipflops (but not because they can but because they can't afford anything else) but the ground can be very (!) slippery, you WILL get caught in the rain and with the soft material of sneakers you live with the high risk of blisters.
Bring hiking sticks or ask if they can be provided
Bring gaiters (helps with the rain and high gras)
Bring warm clothes for the summit, especially if you hike there too fast like us and have to wait 50min for the sunrise.

I can really recommend the company, also becaude they collect their trash and make sure they don't leave anything behind on beautiful Rinjani!

We had the most amazing experience trekking Rinjani with Awal as our tour guide. We booked onto a group 3 day 2 night tour and were paired for 2 other lovely people for the experience. Before the trek we stayed at the Villa Bambu and had a briefing about the trek. We met our guide Awal the next day who truly made our experience! Awal was calm, experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, and just a great guy. I couldn't have wished for a better guide! I had a wobble on the second day after completing the summit and returning to main camp as I knew I still had 5 hours minimum of hiking left to go, but he got me through it and I actually enjoyed the second day in the end. Don't under estimate the hike, we saw lots of people turn around and with severe altitude sickness. We hike a lot and found it difficult with the lack of sleep and high elevation. Overall would very much recommend this company, excellent organization and an amazing guide! Thank you Awal!

We had terrible weather on Rinjani unfortunately. But Azmi and Abri helped us through it and organised everything perfectly! Great food, super people. If we come back to try again we will definitely do it through Rinjani Samalas.

Highly recommend this company. We contacted Rinjani Samalas last minute about our Rinjani hike and they still managed to pull a great trip together including pick up from the Gili ferry, the hike itself and drop off in Senggigi afterwards. Our guide set a very good pace and timed our breaks well, which allowed us to reach the rim without any problems.

We did the 2D1N trek to Rinjani crater rim. Initial communication via email was flawless and right from the transport to Senaru we knew we were in good hands. On the way I somehow lost my phone (my fault) and everybody from the Samalas team was very helpful and they did manage to recover my phone! The first night they arranged a completely fine accommodation and then the trek itself was very well organized. We were teamed up with guide called Nus, who was just excellent, really nice guy with a constant smile on his face, ready to assist and help with anything, always looking after us and telling us interesting things about local nature, thank you Nus, it was really nice meeting you! Our porters did a really good job as well, the meals they prepared for us were huge and delicious. The equipment was decent - tent, sleeping bags, sleeping mats (very comfy) etc.everything was fine.
Overall I can only recommend this company, we had a great time with them, they offered us the best price and from what we saw around us during the trek they provided us with not only the same but maybe even better service than other companies. Thank you Rinjani Samalas for a great experience and also saving my phone with lots of memories from other previous trips on Lombok!
